Hey I just re-downloaded Furc to my laptop, is there a way to retrieve my previous characters? or do I have to start all over?

Wouldn't you be better off posting this on a Furc forum?

I'm about to move your topic to Smalltalk, because this forum is for help around the site, but here's the dealio to get back your characters:

If you don't have your passwords written down, this is how to get 'em back, and warning, it's a long route:

Hopefully you remember all your character names. You'll need those, or all hope is lost here.

Assuming you don't have your passwords, you need to go to the Change Lost Password page. Follow the directions. Once you have a new password for your character, go to the Character Ini Retrieval Service. Follow their directions, and badaboom, regained characters. It's a lengthy process, but it works.

If you do have your character passwords, then you simply click on the Ini Retrieval link and follow their instructions.

It would also be a little difficult to post to Furc's forums without having a character and password to log into! But I hope those links help you out with your issue, Warwick! They saved me a bundle when I switched to my first ever laptop, then got Furcadia removed from it (long story).

It's also worth mentioning that characters without digos, portraits or ten golden dragonscales or more on their file expire after prolonged inactivity. If this is the case then your old characters are lost and you need to go through the creation process again, provided the names haven't been claimed by someone else first.

Well I didn't know that, I assumed that there were separate forum accounts. I haven't been on furc in years. *shrugs*
