Yuu felt York hold her closer and tried to calm down. Though when she felt the doctor put something on her wound, she began screaming in pain. The medicine burned almost like fire. She heard York tell her to stop screaming and that he was here, that made her whimper slightly and hesitate. Though she stopped screaming. Eventually, they were at the doctors house as he stitched her wound. She whimpered as he stitched up her wound, though soon enough the wound was stitched up. She looked at her stitched up wound and said thank you to the doctor.
"Will you be alright to travel?" He asked her, deciding she would say yes no matter what he turned to the doctor and cocked his head, "will she?" The doctor thought for a second and nodded hesitantly. York figured that they would have to stay the night somewhere close by but this town may not be the best idea. He walked slowly with Yuu out of the building and a crowd of Dwarves were waiting for them. York was silent and the crowd began to cheer, despite who he was, Yuu and Rams had stood up for them. Against the knights, and the whole Far Horn Empire! In the center of the Village a flag with a rhino symbol on it was being burned, they were chanting too. Beast King! Beast King!! Beast King!!!
Yuu looked up at him and nodded. "Of course I will be!" She said when the doctor nodded. She smiled at the fact that she was approved. She would go either way. She stood up and walked with York outside. She knew that the air was tense because they learned who he was. When they saw the crowd of dwarfs outside, she was ready for anything. Though when they started chanting she smiled and crossed her arms. "It seems like they like you 'Beast King'." She said and nodded. "I think that's honestly a good name, it makes sense and rolls of the tongue. Are you ready to go?" She asked.
"Shut up," he blushed a bit walking out of the village as the see of small men and women parted for the boy. Was this true fame? Earned not gifted, it felt good, so good. He felt somewhere in his animal heart that he should help people because they needed help, but all he wanted to do now was have the entire Far Horn scream his name. The two left the village of Mograw and headed on their way, wounded and damaged nothing would stand in the way of these two getting their souls back.
Yuu smiled and laughed softly. She knew that when he became ruler, they would probably call him that. She hurried and followed him as they left the small dwarf village. She looked ahead, trying to figure out what village was ahead, she just needed to think of which direction they were heading. "York, I think we would just stop here." She said after awhile, noticing that it was starting to get a little darker now. Enough that they could see, but not pitch black. Since they walked this long, she suspected that they were heading East. The next city wouldn't be at least for another hour or two. Soon, they wouldn't be able to see an inch in front of their faces.
"Scared of the dark?" He joked with her, in all honesty it was a good idea for them to stop but York's sleeping supplies were still back at where the bandits had attacked them two days ago. To think, it was almost two weeks ago that he had headed out into the wilderness with Sir Charles to work on his transformation powers. To be frank, York didn't feel like a king. Just over a week in the real world and he had died twice, like legit died, dead, bye bye, gone. It was by luck a healer was there to bring him back, and it was by pure will that Yuu had revived him with a hint of quick thinking. "I'd honestly like to keep going," he sighed, seeing she had a sleep stuff. "I have a no shirt, just a vest... and no sleeping blanket." His shirt had been to torn up and bloody to repair so a Dwarf gave him a feet large shirt for them. But it was more like a vest now, in any matter he'd be too cold to sleep.
Yuu looked away and crossed her arms. "S-shut up!" She said to his joke, but sighed at the fast that he was right when he said they should keep going. He used his shirt to calm down her bleeding. York could turn into an animal, so some dangers were nothing to him. Like when he was poisoned, he turned into an elephant. Yuu couldn't turn, so would have to be more careful. She sighed and looked away. "You didn't have to help me, but you're right. Even if we factor out that you would freeze, it's probably not best to sleep in a part of the forest I haven't studied." She said and looked ahead. "Though we'll have to hurry if we want to reach an inn before it gets too dark." She said as she hurried her pace. She felt bad that he had to get rid of his shirt just to help her, though she was grateful.
They walked for a bout a half hour more before York was really getting tired. He wouldn't freeze to death in the forest, it was pretty far south, but it would keep him awake. "Are you as exhausted as I am?" He asked, shivering. Again it wasn't really that cold, but he was hardly wearing any top. A yawn broke through how cold it was outside, a deep inhale of cooler air and then an equal exhale. "I'm so exhausted and we still have over an hour to walk..." Too cold to sleep, to much walking to keep going, and just sitting around was just a stupid idea.
Yuu looked at him and sighed. He was shivering. She took off her sweater and put it around him. "I don't care what you say, you're either taking it, or we'll leave my only sweater. I have on a long sleeve, so I'll be fine. You'll freeze either way, now sit." She said as she stopped walking. She grabbed some sticks and made them in the form of a camp fire. She brought out matches and started the fire. She sat down beside it and pulled out a book. "You should sleep, you're more tired then I am." She said and smiled at him, showing she wasn't being cold, just kind.
He instantly snatched the sweater off his body, "I'm not wearing this, it's got cooties!" He was only half joking he wasn't gonna wear the sweater but it wasn't about her so called cooties. He helped her gather fire and handed her the dragon stick so she could light it. "I'm gonna feel bad sleeping if you can't rest," he blushed a bit, "you blanket, why uh, don't... Can we like?" He didn't want to seem rude or odd to his new friend but it'd be a smart idea to both be wrapped in the blanket. The boy sighed, "just put your damn sweater back on..." He tossed it to the girl and continued to shiver.
Yuu looked at him and looked away. "I-i don't understand why you're so nervous all of the sudden she said as she put on her sweater. Though she could understand the message he was trying to send her. She walked over to him and pushed him so that he would be laying down. She put the blanket over him and crawled under it too with her back to him. She blushed and said nothing as she sighed. Now she was the one who was nervous...."I-if your cold... you don't have to hesitate to ask to share. I have no problem with it." She told him quietly.
Now she understood why he had been uncomfortable to ask, he could detect a hint of weariness in her voice as well. But he eventually fell asleep tossing and turning all night remembering waking up from death the first time to see the helmeted man kneeling above him inhaling what was most likely his soul. He flipped over so many times in the course of that three or four hours that by the time his eyes finally opened his arms were wrapped around her. The blanket had been pretty small to begin with so this wasn't a surprise he subconsciously got closer to her, it was warmer. But out of embarrassment he rolled backwards hoping he hadn't realized the way he had slept. "Oh, sorry," he whispered more to himself.
Yuu could fall asleep easily in any circumstance, though she could also wake up at noises because she was a light sleeper. Though when she felt York hold her in his sleep, she blushed slightly and sighed. Of course it was still cold to him, he should've just took the sweater. Though in about an hour, he quickly let go and whispered some sort of apology. She shook her head and sighed. "It's alright, if you're cold I don't mind." She whispered. "Besides, you seem to be having nightmares. Do you want to talk about it?"
"Nah, no nightmares, just remembering Relic," York had been told his name by Sir Char. His knight friend had heard rumors of a jackal helmet man who stole souls and brought people back to life. No mer necromancer but a resurrector. "Thats the name of the Jackal Man Im pretty sure, Char, had told me rumors of him crossing through this land every so often." York sighed, his bright red face faded, "Sorry I woke you, and ummm... you know." The boy got his things together and was all ready to head out in about five minutes, "do you want to rest or do you wanna just get going now?"
Yuu nodded. "I see." She said as she sat up and shook her head. "Don't worry about it. I would've woken up soon anyways. Though we should head out now. Then, we'll reach the town in a few hours and buy some food." She told him while smiling as she made sure the fire was out. She stood up and stretched slightly to stretch out her muscles and bones that were currently trying to sleep. "Well, at least that's what I think, though what so you suggest Beast King?" She asked teasingly and sat by him.
"Please don't call me that," Ramsley blushed yawning slightly, "I am no king, not yet..." He looked around at the trees as they walked. He was watching all the animals as they walked, mostly just listening to Yuu, but he was a bit down. Each of these animals free to move about the forest, the trees were like their kings, but instead of beating the animals down it held them up. Becoming homes and nests. Allowing them to dwell in their branches and roots. Trees even attracted bugs for them to eat, Rams wish his father was like a tree. Leading peacefully, supporting his subjects instead of ruling them. "If I ever become emperor I want to rule like a tree," he smiled and said out of no where.
Yuu smiled and began walking to the next town. Yuu would just say random conversation at the beggining so that the air wouldn't be awkward. Though after awhile she just took out her book and began to read it. Though when he said about ruling as a tree, Yuu looked at him. "You mean that you...Um.... want to ... grow tall and stand above your enemies....?" She tried and laughed awkwardly. "Did I get it right?" She asked curiously.
He smiled and explained what he meant. He enjoyed talking to hear and just two days ago he had almost killed her. But now he trusted her, and in trusting her he opened up about his real fear, what his nightmare was really about, "what if their gone?" He paused processing what he wanted to say, "what if Relic consumed our souls like food?? If I steal your apple and eat it, you can't just get it back... Can you?" He really had no idea how this whole thing worked, if it was like eating then would they have to cut into him to get it out??? York had no idea, all he knew was that the sooner they found him the better chance they'd have of getting back their souls. If it was even possible to get them back at all.
Yuu smiled when he explained what he meant though when he stated his fear her face went expressionless as she looked up in thought. What if he was right? What if they would never have their souls again? What would they do then. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "I think you need to shut up and have a little bit more faith. Who says he ate them? Maybe he's just holding them. Who says we'll never get them back? Maybe we will. Now if we consider the worst consciences, and we don't get our souls back.... it will be hard to accept. But I think we'll get through, the only thing we have to actually think about is death. Though eventually, we'll accept it. Either way it ends out, we'll always look back and smile remembering the fun. But for now, while things remain unknown, let's just try our best to move forward and not to let our fears control us." She said gently while smiling at him, hoping to raise his spirits.
The knight and Relic had taken a horse drawn carriage from one of the outer towns the day before. It would only be a number of hours until they would each the Far Horn Palace. Relic sat silently with the soulless knight as the man went on and on thanking him for saving his life. Relic believed that the man was unaware that he hadn't saved the knights life, only restored it at a price. But the knight seemed oblivious to the empty feeling inside of him and went on and on talking about the boy with ram horns changing into and animal. If Relic ever got the chance again maybe he'd kill the boy just to be able to take those abilities when he brought him back. But if the boy was a prince, maybe he could use the fact that he ate the boys soul as leverage.
