It took a bit longer then expected but they got to the first village within the Far Horn Imperial border, "no need to call me Lee." Rams didn't much care for any bad memories or anything like that, especially how they treated him in the Dwarven village. He was pretty sure he'd be fine, "just stick to Rams." He smiled, could he maybe have a crush on this girl? The village had rhino head flags all over the place, almost hung from every buildings, "this town used to be called Barrelwood, but my father liked the name Edgehorn better so he changed it for them." A ugly looking bird ran across the ground and stopped before looking up at them, "and that's the Barrel Bird, ugly, but beautiful..." The birds next stretched out long and it opened it's mouth to let out the most beautiful noise that had ever touched Yuu's ears. The town had been named after the bird, but now it was filled with the tyranny of the empire above it.
Yuu smiled as the walk was just random small talk or silence. Yuu was happy, she was too afraid or too busy to actually talk to anyone. Though if she hadn't met York, she would still be alone. So she was happy. Though when they got to the village, it seemed nice and peaceful. "Alright Rams." She said and smiled Though when she saw the bird, she nodded at how it wasn't the prettiest in the flock, though her eyes widened at its song. She sat down and closed her eyes, so that she could do her best at memorizing the song. It was too pretty to forget. "Rams, thank you." She said and smiled up at him as the bird flew away and Yuu pouted slightly.
The bird hadn't gone far, the Barrel birds were all over this town and thats why it had had its name, so they resented the Emperor for forcing them to change it but they did change it because they knew that Haru pulled stunts like what he did in the Dwarven village of Mograw. Rams found it a bit strange that she had randomly sat down in the middle of the street but didn't comment because in his mind she probably thought he was weird for being able to transform into any animal he pleased.... well any of two at this point. Rams looked around, "I have always enjoyed this town," he smiled, "It's as far away as you can get from the palace but still be in the empire."
Yuu watched it fly away. She wanted to chase it, but shrugged it off. Chasing the bird had nothing to do with her cat side, it was her child side. She ran a hand through her hair and smiled at him. "Why would you want to stay away from the castle? How come? I mean, the king is a jerk. I'll say that to his face, but was he a jerk to you?" She asked. Knowing that she would get angry if he lied, and get angry if the King was being a jerk to him.
"It's not really important, but what is important is that we get some food," he smiled. He wasn't going to lie to her, he trusted her. And at this point in time she was probably the only one he trusted. But it really wasn't the time for talk like that now, guards were everywhere and they had a tendency to beat people to death that talked bad about Emperor Haru. A good noodle shop was in town that he loved so he sat down at the outdoor section and ordered his favorite dish. Because he was an animal changeling he ate no meet, but for some reason shrimp was the exception. "A big bowl of shrimp and alfrado noodles, oysters and scallop all thrown in! he smiled, they weren't fish, and Rams hadn't yet been able to turn into many sea creatures yet. "ummm, what do you want," he put a big coin purse on the table, "I'm buying."
Yuu sighed. He found a way around her trap. She would find a way to figure out what was going on with the King. She didn't really have that much to do with him, never pledged her soul to him. So she never had any trouble with him because he never messed with her. The only problem she had with was Relic and those bandits. She looked at the noodle shop and sat down beside him. "U-um... the spicy noodles, that's all." She said and smiled. Though she looked at his coin purse and sighed. "Alright, I'll pay next time." She said and smiled.
He eyed her tiny coin bag and then his much bigger one, "it's the only perk of being a prince." He pocketed the sack once the noodle man was paid. He prepared the food and tossed the bowls onto the table. As Rams devoured the foot he enjoyed starting a more pleasant conversation with his friend. "So where are you from." She didn't look like she was from the Far Horn, maybe she wasn't from the west Castle lands at all!
Yuu smiled as the food came. It was the only thing that she could think of since he turned into everything. It would probably insult him if she got something like beef noodles or chicken noodles, so she got spicy noodles. Much much better then they sound.Though she smiled at the question. "I live in the village of Ur. It's the small village outside your castles borders." She answered and began to eat. She wondered if this was the only question or were there more coming? She didn't mind answering, and she understood why he asked her. They didn't know much about each other. Well, she knew more about him then him to her.
So she did live in the Far Horn? York knew many of the bigger towns and villages, but didn't recognize it right away. Mapping out the area around the Far Horn Palace he found a village to the north in his mind he hadn't traveled to. "Just outside the castle? You mean the Far Horn Palace?" He was quite exited, "so you knew who I was when I fist introduced my self?" She knew who he was and she didn't kiss up, she still slapped him and went into battle with him? That was amazing if that was all true he liked her even more now! Ramsley looked down at his half empty bowl and continued to eat, so good!
Yuu put down her empty bowl and nodded. "Mhm, I knew who you were the second I saw you." She said and crossed her arms while laughing slightly. "I'm actually surprised. I thought you would say something about how dirty the forest was, or complain about every little thing. But it was nice to learn that your a pretty dependable person." She and smiled, it was all true. She knew she would have to depend on him a lot. But he was raised in a castle, usually kings spoil their children, so why didn't he spoil York? Well, she was lucky he didn't, but still....
The empty bowl spun on the table as he received her complement. "If we ever get our souls back, what then?" York really didn't want to go back to the palace, he really enjoyed Yuu's company. But he knew that if his father was assassinated or something. Which was extremely likely because many people hated him, even many in his guard hated him. Maybe Rams would kill him, but that would mean that he had become as cruel as his father, and he couldn't give Haru that kind of satisfaction. "Like is your plan to keep traveling around the Castle Lands?" He stood up from the noodle shop, tossing a few coins into his bowl, generously tipping the noodle man more then he should have normally been tipped. He thanked York and the two began to explore the Edgehorn as he listen to her response.
Yuu stood up and put her hands in her pockets. "W-well... not exactly." She said with a small laugh. She didn't know if she should tell him about how she was going to find the leader of the bandits that killed her family and they attempted to kill her. Though thanks to Relic she was alive. "I-I'm um... I'm just searching for someone, it's not really important." She said and smiled. "When you become Breast King, what are you going to do first?" She asked, just changing the subject.
She may not have know this but the bandits sprawled out when Yuu had found York were the same bandit tribe that had killed her family. He slowly walked as he thought about what he wanted to do, if she had someone besides Relic she needed to find he didn't want to impose by following her. Though of course he had no idea Char and him had killed the bandit leader already. "I don't know," York sighed, "I really don't want to go back to the palace but I do belong there." The boy looked around at all the different kinds of shops, but unfortunately nothing really peaked his interest. He spotted the inn and began to head towards that. They deserved a good night sleep tonight on real beds, they'd keep going on their adventure tomorrow.
Yuu patted his shoulder and smiled. "Don't worry, you know when the time comes, that's how great ideas happen." She said as she looked at the inn and smiled. "That looks nice, should we stay?" She asked as she turned to him, wondering if he wanted to keep going or to rest. To be honest, it would feel nice to stay. But then again, it would be smarter to just keep moving forward. But they should stay at the village a little longer, at least to buy him a shirt in case they messed needed to sleep out in the forest again.
He took a few expensive coins out of his bag, "I'll get us set up in the inn if you'll get me some new cloths," Rams smiled awkwardly. He didn't want to say it, but as a prince all his clothing was picked out for him, he had no idea how to shop for himself so he asked her. Not because she was like a maid or a servant, no that wasn't the tone of the request at all. He just didn't know how to do it, plus he was much better at dealing with people. Evidently shown through his first interactions with Yuu. "Two beds shouldn't be that expensive, and I still have a pretty good amount left," he counted in his bag, there were about forty silvers left. Silvers, being the currency of the Far Horn, as well as most of the Castle Lands.
Yuu blinked and laughed. "Alright, sure." She said and nodded. "I'll see you later." She said while looking over his outfit so she wouldn't grab anything stupid. Then, she turned away while waving, looking around for the closest clothing market. Once she got there, she looked around for the right shirt for your outfit. Soon, she just settled on a black medium sized shirt. She didn't know his size, so this would have to do. She went to the man who was watching over the shop and paid for it. She sighed at how expensive it was, though she wasn't going to stress about it much. She headed back to the inn and sighed. "Which room is he in?..."
Rams had paid for the room and sat outside of it, he waited a bit but after a while he decided to venture into the shop across from the inn, he looked at all the different animals kept in cages, he knew he needed money for food and such but couldn't help himself, he gave almost every cent he had to free all the birds in the shop. A big swarm of all different color bird flew out of their cages all at once, then he paid for the frogs, and turtles to be released, they walked and hopped away. Then the dogs and cats, given out free to all the children in town. There was a large crowd thanking him asking his name "Rams," he laughed, "Rams!" He walked back over to the inn room a bit later as he saw Yuu approach, "hey," he smiled, he kinda hoped she hadn't seen all that. He tossed a coin to a beggar on the street, now he was officially broke.
Yuu watched as he gave all of his money away to free the animals and gave one to a beggar. She sighed and put her hands on her hips. Now they were relying on her money, if she knew that she would've looked for a cheaper shirt. Though it was his money, he could do whatever he wanted with it. She smiled up at him and nodded her head to him. "I got your shirt." She said and tossed it to him. "You did at least get our room right?" She asked and laughed jokingly, she didn't really care if they got the room or not. Though she did know that she was going to have to buy him a blanket for when they slept in the woods again.
"Yes I did," he had bought the most expensive room they had with two giant beds, it was later in the afternoon but York just crashed into bed. "Night!" York smiled as his pillows sweet embrace kissed his cheek. He looked over at the other bed, did she not like it? Or was she just not tired? He didn't really care in the end as he closed his eyes all he could think about was the warm covers and cloud like mattress underneath him.
Yuu nodded and nodded as she followed him.up to the room. She sat on the bed and looked around. This room was expensive looking, she shrugged to her thoughts and pulled out her book. She never really liked expensive things, they just showed off more. Honestly, the cheap things were what she was used to. This room made her feel awkward and out of place, though either way; it was still a room. She smiled at York and nodded. "Good night!" She said and put her books away. Either way, when she looked at him she saw he was asleep. She decided to get sleep too and got under the covers. She yawned and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillows.
