The spear was thrust down into the wolves skull crushing it with one powerful thrust. A howl came from within the helmet, and he sat down fairly wounded. Of course he'd be fine but he couldn't afford to chase the girl, his men would take care of that. As for himself he began to revive his men, later he would revive the mercenaries and see where they had come from, an attack would be planned. No one messed with Relic the Resurrector.
About seven men stood in front of Sythia on horse back each pulling out a small straw and aiming it at the woman. She was Relic's property now, and needed to be punished for what she had done. Some filled with poison some fill with paralytic, and some filled with sleeping agents, they all five fired. Three made contact and the men watched her grow weary, sweet dreams, a toothless warrior laughed.
Upon her collapsing she was brought back to the camp and stripped of her armor and weapons. The naked body of the mercenary was tossed into a thick metal cage. Relic looked in at the sleeping woman, pushing a thin cloth blanket into the bars, freezing to death would be fun for him to watch. But if he wanted to use her tonight it'd be better if she was warm.

The girl opened the book and he cast a stone ahead of them into a barrel of explosives, as soon as their horse passed it the barrel blew throwing the two barbarians from their steeds. He was unsure if he killed them or not, "how do you feel?" He hoped he had not frightened the girl all that much. At least they were safe for now, but what became of the assassin lady who had helped them? It was getting late he would think about helping the blind girl survive for right now and worry about their savior in the morning.
Cady heard the explosion and trembled a little. The horse was still running and she had no idea how to steer it. "Um. I'm okay. Why are you a book?" She held the book a little tighter, "And... how do I stop this thing?!" The horse was making a beeline for a river, Cady could hear the flowing water. "What about the person who saved us? What if they..." She felt sick to think about what might happen.
"I honestly don't know," Bathe sighed ignoring her first question, "I'm Bathe, it is nice to meet you." The horse galloped threw the stream and over to the other side before slowing down by a cave. Since he was still being held open he cast his favorite spell. "Empty knight," he smiled as his pages flittered and he lifted from her hands. Bark twisted into metal and a shining suit of heavy armor wrapped around him as the helmet closed over the book itself. The knight had a large two handed axe the he thrust into the ground freeing his gauntlet hands to help the bling girl down. "Well, help the woman in the morning ok," he smiled, "for now sleep, I'll keep watch for a while to make sure no one followed us."
"Yeah... we met earlier, I thought. But um, I'm Cady." Hearing him say something confusing, she felt his pages move on their own. When he lifted from her arms she panicked a little, but let go, letting him float. The moment a metal hand touched her, she yelped and tried to pull away, but she was lifted off the horse and onto the ground. His words made her relax a little. "Okay..." So, he could make himself a body? That was odd... but she wasn't going to complain about it. Letting herself cautiously move along the grass, she found the cave opening and settled just inside, laying down. "Stay safe." She murmured, before dozing off.
Waking up with a jerk, Synthia shivered a little, blinking. She tried to take in her surroundings. She'd been taken. Damn. This was bad luck. Having only the blanket, she pulled it tighter to herself, and created a small ball of light to be able to see.
Bathe stayed awake for about a half hour before his armor withered away and he was just a watchful book before even the little book grew tired and he lay asleep until the sun poked its bright face through the trees. They had been far enough away from the gipsies caravan, "Cady, wake up." Bathe hoped she hadn't seen him sleeping, or hear him... "Unfortunately their horse has run off," the book sighed placing himself in her hands, "how bad do you actually want to save this woman?" Though she had saved them that didn't make Bathe any less cowardly then he was normally. Why go back into danger now that they were free.
Cady slept until morning. She was awakened by the sound of a voice saying her name. Stirring, she sat up and yawned sleepily. "Hmm?" Feeling the book in her hands, she remembered the events of the evening before. "I guess it depends on our chances of success. I don't want to risk both of our lives for someone who... Well... Might not have helped us just for the sake of helping us." Lightly, she patted the top of him. "Even if you have magic, that doesn't mean we can save her..."
Bathe knew she was right, they couldn't just go help a woman who they had never met before even if she had helped them. I was dumb. A blind girl and a book couldn't possibly take out a tribe of undead bandits. "I agree with that statement, If she could fight like she did before I'm sure she is fine," he paused. "I'm sure she escaped, right?" He wasn't quite sure, Relic was a giant, and with his healing powers he was surely a menace even if he couldn't talk. "We have to get you to safety," Bathe's words were kind, but what he really meant was that he wanted to get himself to safety.
Even if not helping the woman made Cady feel a little guilty... She knew that two lives were not worth risking for one. "Where will we go though?" Her home... She didn't even know where it was from here. Where were they? What would they do to stay safe? Would they work with each other or would they split ways? "... And what will we do?"
She had too many questions, "just open me," Bathe exclaimed. He was getting ready to cast a spell that would create a path of smoothe stones toward the location where they were trying to get to, it was call the arrow stone path. Not a bad spell if you were lost and knew where you needed to go, unfortunately it only took you to places you had been before. "Where have you been in the world?" Bathe asked, "anywhere you think might be safe, anywhere at all." She didn't have to be able to see the place to have been there, just know that she was there when she was there. She had to imagine the smells, sounds, tastes, emotions, not sights of course but usually those too.
Obeying him, she opened him. While she had a million more questions, she refrained from asking. A safe place... Her home usually. "My home." She said softly. Imagining the floorboards under her feet and the way she knew each one by the way it felt under her feet. The piney smell of the wood, the grass outside, the ten steps of the staircase. She knew the place inside and out, even though she'd never seen it.
Warm smooth stones pushed themselves out of the earth, as soon as she let go they would each crumble away but he stayed open to guide her, "follow the warm stones," Bathe smiled. The stones weren't boiling hot but were very warm, it made it so that if she stepped into the cool forest floor she would know that she wasn't on the path back anymore. They were close to an hour walk away, two at the very most. "Stay on the path and you will be safe," but he continued to look around scanning the area for bears or other types of beasts. He was pretty sure they wouldn't bother the two of them but it was always better to be prepared, and since he was still open he could cast something if they were attacked.
Feeling the warm stones under her feet, Cady curled her toes a little, surprised by the change. "O-okay." Holding Bathe in her hands, leaving him open, she followed the stones, slowly at first, doing her best to assess which direction they were leading her. Moving steadily, she followed the path. The quiet was a bit awkward, so she hummed to herself, coming up with the tune as she went. As she got into her made up tune, she matched her footfalls to the tune, keeping a light beat. It was probably childish of her, but it was amusing for her as she followed the path.
"Lord Relic, she must have escaped!" Relic grabbed the man by the face and snapped his neck. Relic growled and another warrior came and met him. A lower toned growl shot quickly from inside the helmet and the warrior nodded and began to rally a hunting party. Relic looked at the werewolf's body. He may have to raise her up from the dead to be able to track this escapee. She would have made a very pleasurable slave as well as strong built for combat and chores. Relic raised the man back to life that he had just broken the neck of and pointed. "Sorry lord," the man apologized and headed off towards the search party group. Relic stood in front of the cage and howled. Somewhere there was a naked woman trying to escape him! He would not stand for this!!!
Escaping had been tricky, but light could do interesting things when concentrated correctly. Think lasers. Synthia was humiliated to be naked, all she'd had time to steal was her sword, which she hugged tightly to her body, even as the wind kissed her bare skin. Her feet were sore from running, but she didn't dare slow down. He would give chase, she knew it, and she wasn't going to let that happen. She slowed as she reached a town. Crap. There was no way she could walk on the street while naked. So, she had to creep up closer to the town. She didn't recognize the flags flying over this town, but she supposed it could be one of the newer and growing countries she'd heard of. There were two or three of them, expanding their borders into the towns that had once been without rulers.
Flags of Rhino Heads flew high, this town was the newest expansion of the Far Horn territories. This town was controlled by House York now and upon the emperors orders his only son Ramsley had been sent here to 'make nice' with the newly captured area. To be quite frank, the Emperor hoped a riot or something would get his son killed. He had knights and guards protecting him, but were ordered to not actually protect the young prince.
In the Far Horn an emperor ruled until his first son grew to the age of eighteen. And Emperor Haru, was greedy and only had two years left before York took over ruling the kingdom. His attempts to abuse the boy until he ran away hadn't worked so now he just wanted the boy dead. But Ramsley was a strong willed brat who had been blessed with his mothers power. She had been a powerful Mage but died giving birth to Rams, who could shift into any non-fiction animal. Beasts to birds and fish.
The boy road in a horse drawn carriage that was entering the village from the south, opposite that of Synthia. "Finally, were here," he muttered. Despite his terrible past he had no problem still acting like a spoiled brat, and even though he wasn't privileged physically, he was very wealthy. "I'm going to grab some food," he called hopping out of the wagon. His guards didn't stop him, he knew they didn't care so he just went off on his own.

Synthia worked her way closer to the town. She paused at a farm house just outside down and promised to pay the woman there in return for letting her borrow a dress. While dresses weren't her choice attire, it served the purpose of making her not entirely naked. Sword held in one hand, she walked into the town, looking around. More flags, and guards with the emblems from the flags.
Of course it was just her luck that one of the guards stopped her. For a moment, she thought she was in trouble somehow, but they just were keeping record of the comings and goings of travellers and townsfolk alike since there was no wall or gate around the town yet, and thus no way to track the people easily. Synthia came up with an alias off the top of her head and they wrote it down, letting her continue on her way.
Glimpsing some kind of entourage, she raised an eyebrow, before turning and stepping into a dark alley where she knew an acquaintance of hers would be waiting.

The boy walked around for a bit before stopping to eat at a noodle hut, "spiced ramen." He was served fairly quickly so he tipped double the price of the meal, "thanks." He eyed the ally way next to the shop, he was in the habit of hiring treasure hunters and mercenaries alike to collect strange and mystical items for him. But he was too guarded to be able to get to go on the adventures himself. He finally saw a figure walking threw the ally, "I've been looking for a good book, any recommendations?" It was code of course for give me what I paid for.
Naturally, the code made her stop and turn her back to him, since keeping her client's identities private was one of her rules of conduct. "No. The only good book I know happens to have been in the hands of a necromancer. Might as well walk up to a dragon unarmed and see if that works better for me." She scowled darkly. It was hard to be indirect about it and make her message clear without putting either of them in danger. "Your investment will be returned. But I have no means to get to the place I left it, as my horse got lost, and my belongings were stripped." Folding her arms over her chest, she added. "For now, you're out of luck." Leaving it at that, she spat on the ground and turned, moving away quickly, knowing that upsetting a client wasn't a game she liked to play.
