Most humans don't think about demons because of this simple saying,

"What's there to believe if there's nothing to see?"

It's a phrase that makes sense in most cases. It means what it says. That's why humans don't believe in demons. However, it doesn't mean demons don't exist. In this particular city known as 'The City that Sleeps' people would believe the name originated from the founding fathers whom's goal was to make a city where people may indeed relax and be at peace. However the actual origin of the name belongs to a line darker than that. The name was meant to symbolize humanity's only defense in that area, to sleep. Every night demons would rise up and sweep the streets in search of human flesh and sacrifice to their so called mistress of the night. The mistress of the night sounds rather goofy even for the most professional of hunters, but name has nothing to do with experience. The mistress is said to be as beautiful as the sky itself, but as dark as the endless pits of the Demon world. In other words, a foe whom shows no mercy to neither humans nor demons.

It was a Tuesday night when these events began to take place. People were enjoying themselves and celebrating the night with booze, sex, drugs, a typical human's pleasure. This is when the events began to take place.. Left and right humans began to disappear. People went missing then found dead the next morning. Something was up. The authorities evicted everyone from their homes and sent them to temporary houses out of the city. Even then the people were still unsafe.

"Clack clack clack!"

The sound of footsteps echoed through an alley way, a thief attempting to rob a bakery was soon finding himself facing death in the face. He turned and fell into a corner. The last the he saw was a shadow in the form of a beast.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Not many times in a century, Anya would venture into the certain areas by accident, yet this seemed to be a hysterical coincidence. Her deep, crimson hues wandered around the outskirts of the city, as she began to enter the silent area. An interesting feeling overwhelmed her, as the sound of a human scream caught her undivided attention. Is there a different being creating chaos? Ever fiber told her to proceed as her beastly instincts began to unfold, little by little. Every shadow, Anya would hide, and make her way to the building, hence where the scream emanated. "My, my, such sweet agony."

Of course, madness was delicious to a lucky few, the few that found the Titanic a bit humorous and liked to be in civil wars just for the joy of it. Those few were drawn to the city just like flies to a rotting field of produce during these times. They could just sense the panic that was running through their mortal prey, and the broadcasts that would go through the news did nothing but excite them for what was happening.

Take, for instance, the shadowed man that was taking care of a passing pedestrian. He had a long silver blade that had slipped through the man's neck to press against the brick of the wall behind it, efficiently beheading the innocent bystander. He'd wasted no time with pleasantries and savoring the kill like he usually did, he just grabbed him by the neck, replacing his hand with the knife after he had disappeared from the sidewalk, and slammed him against the brick.

The now dead pedestrian's head fell to rest beside it's previous owner, and the shadowed face of the murderer was spattered with blood, some of the heavier drops dripping down, following his jawline to his chin and falling, a crimson rain drop, to the ground. He spat after a few minutes of appreciating his work, his green eyes dropping down to his blood covered hand and blade. He flicked some of the blood off onto the alley way's neglected and cracked pavement, then stock the knife into his obviously old and faded leather jacket. He wiped his bloody features onto the side of his shirt underneath the jacket so that the material would cover it.

This was one of countless, faceless killers among the city that were prowling the alleyways, hunting their completely unknowing prey with a ferocity and a stealthiness that would no doubt scare some of the world's bravest.

Out of the corner of this madness, a business was still running. Even after being shut down there were few businesses still running to offer, "Aid and medicine". The only medicine here were cocaine and beer. Inside the bar obnoxiously loud music was playing to muffle out the sound of the yell. It was like nothing happened at all. The people in there simply played the pool table some more and drank their sorrows away. There was one however whom happened to catch a glimpse of the noise. One eye peered open as he scanned out the window. There was nothing out there, but this didn't help ease the tension. A waitress moved her way over to pick up the empty bottles that were sitting in front of the lounging man. She peered at him and then asked

"You need a ride handsome?"

Obviously trying to flirt with this red coated man, the woman leaned down to try and show off her cleavage. The man however shook his head and responded with

"No, but in the next few seconds you're probably going to need a ride back to hell."

The woman flinched at this comment and knew her cover was blown. He really was the best at what he did. The music stopped and the light flashed off. A roar was heard and then sudden flashes were seen in the bar. After a few moments the lights came back on showing a pool of blood all over the ground. Apparently all of the bikers and waitresses were demons, leaving the hunter, the prey. The man simply stood up from his seat and then walked towards the shot up door. He opened it up slowly and then peered out to the direction of the incident. The man soon revealed himself as the infamous son of Sparda. A coy smile crossed his face as he spoke

"Well now...seems like this party got a lot more interesting."

With that being said, the demon made his way towards the disturbance.
As she continued to stay and watch the glorious blood shed, two large and sharp canines ached under gums. The smell of the sweet nectar could have made her feed til the end.

No sooner, her body was pressed up against a brick building, where the scent was heavy. Blood hues looked at the shadow figure holding her down, with a sly interest.

"Now, that is not any way to treat a lady. Then again.."

Anya slipped between it's grasp, before long black claws, seemed to sprout from her finger tips. She slashed at the figure, before watching as blood spilled from her assailants neck.

His screams were minor, yet the blood flow drove her to the edge. In a single movement, the female lunged for it's throat. Roughly sinking her canines deep into the tasteless skin, a clawed hand tore off it's head, and she continued to drink the blood from the decapitated head.

Licking her lips, she realized two interesting figures had entered..

"This may be a fun filled night. After all, I am not yet satisfied."

Leaving the body to the animals, she drops the head, with a playful kick. She hits the corner of the building with a 'knock'. "Score!" Now slipping deeper into the party, still searching for that interest, she had came for.

The mysterious man kept towards the shadows of the night. And just like a jedi from Star Wars, He could already sense the presence of the demons surrounding him. Unfortunately it wasn't thanks to the force, it was because of the man's demon blood inside of him. Sure he had the physical capabilities of a demon in every way, but it wasn't easy explaining to the ladies what he did for a living. But now wasn't the time for that. The man simply swiped his silver/white hair back away from his eyes and continued forward. Sure he thought about cutting it at times, but nevertheless he was too lazy to fully commit.

As he exit the shadows the light revealed himself completely. He wore a long red coat to symbolize not only his love for red, but to intimidate the enemy, he wore long cowboy boots, under his coat showed a vest with interesting designs on them, on his back was his deadly and handy Rebellion Sword, his holsters on his back held his ebony and ivory his handmade handguns with endless bullets. This man looked prepared for a hunt.

After a few moments of walking he heard another disturbance, the sound of a beast dying. But he didn't have time to check that out. Dante continued to walk up ahead to see the drained corpse of a helpless victim. Dante leaned down only to see that the victim lost all his blood, had cuts and gashes all over, it's as if this guy was tossed around in a meat blender, there was a leg there, and an arm there. Dante scratched the stubble on his chin and stood up to look around the area. Whatever did this, it certainly knows how to stalk it's victims.

"Well now. Seems like my night just got a whole lot better."

With a gesture he continued on with his walk to find the demon.
Passing human after human, her previous blood stains were still prominent on her chin and clothes. Some drunks gave her a dirty look, but eventually turned away and continued drinking. Some sober humans screamed and proceeded to scurry away, only getting lost in the distracted crowd.

With her long gentle, dirty blonde locks. Her hair was in a long ponytail. A dark red corset hugged her torso, as the top reached just below her bust. Black, sleek pants, along with the same style of heeled boots. Her style may have revealed from time to time, but her targets were much different.

Suddenly, a chill escaped down her spine, as she turned her head behind her to see a male messing with her victims corpse. An animalistic instinct made her growl as she watched the scoping male. Raising her brow, she had a clear view of his presence. The male did not seem to be drunk, or high in anyway.

Curious with his standing nature, she made her way to another darkened alley way, and stalked the male from there.

Anya was neither demon, nor human. Being the last of her kind, her personality was nothing but crude. Being flirtatious from time to time, only to let her get what she wanted. Human's often were the easy prey, along with the lurking demon here and there. But.. Being an ancient made her life harder to live out. Many customs from the old world had changed. The people, the lifestyles, and the authority. Secrecy was her only friend.

The coy man simply walked on, not knowing someone was trailing him. Funny how someone as Professional as Dante couldn't even detect the woman sneaking up on him. Dante placed his hands in his pockets and began to hum a tune. He continued on his way and after a short while he stopped in front of a mirror. He stared into it for a long time. He thought he saw the shadow of a woman but before he could turn, a demon sprung from the mirror in an attempt to kill Dante.

However the hunter was quick and flipped backwards into the air and stuck the landing with a smile. The demon itself was of a hideous nature. It's grotesque frog like eyes and sharp fangs, the body of a Minotaur with the speed of a snake. This demon seemed like a drill sergeant for the rest of the horde.

"WHaT?! How dID yOu knoW I WAS thERe?!"

Dante smirked and just like before he said

"You guys can hide your body! But that smell phew! No hiding that. Try deodorant next time."

The demon growled and lunged at Dante. With a swift lunge dante jumped up into the air and slashed downward with his Rebellion sword into the Demon's back. The beast howled as Dante swiftly unloaded round after round into its back. The beast fell and dante jumped off and lifted its head up with his Ebony gun.

"So tell me, what are all you bastards doing this late at night?"

The demon growled and said

"YOU HuMans are all theSame...we have come...to rebuild our people..."

This didn't sound good. Dante kept his cool and said

"And pray tell how you plan on doing that? I doubt the people at the adoption center would say "no" to a face like that."

Dante then lunged a gun into the beast's eye and received a loud howl of pain.the demon then said

"Sacrifice...for our queen..."

The demon then died after Dante pulled the trigger splattering the beast's blood all over his face. Dante wiped off the blood and stood up

"Queen huh? You better hope she's hot, otherwise I'm not taking her to prom."

Dante teased as he sheathed his weapon and continued on with his mission. As of now, this queen seemed like a threat, maybe Dante should pay her a visit.
Still watching the over cocky figure, she appeared out of a darkening archway, with her two hands, hysterically clapping at the 'demon hunter'.

"Not bad for a demon hunter. I expected a little more talk and less fight, I'm surprised you chose the messy way."

Her hands were some what stained, as her eyes looked hungry with rage. From one moment, she was behind him, from the next, just a couple feet in front.

"I mean, I have lived for many a years, but I truly like to just get the job done without means of talking. Do not get me wrong, it was a lovely show." She put her hands together in a cliche term to show how much she enjoyed the scene.

The sudden voice made Dante pull out his gun to search behind him. But when he did no one was there. Confusing? Then he heard the voice again and then pulled out his second handgun. He aimed it at her and examined her closely. The way she dressed suggested someone carefree (like himself), the hood reminded him of his good friend Kat and the Assassin game called "Assassin's code" (not wanting to copyright haha) Dante examined her up and down and noticed the blood. A sexy woman with blood only signaled trouble. And he liked trouble.

The hunter grinned and then holstered one handgun while keeping the other in his hand. He slowly let it drop trying to play it cool.

"Well I do like to give a good performance."

Dante smiled and gave a beckoning bow to the woman. Nevertheless keeping an eye on her. He then leaned up and said

"And who might you be babe?"

The figure that had been so pleasantly murdering the man in the alleyway stepped out into the light, his jeans and jacket not exactly showing what he was in full glory. He was a beast, something that even the demons shied away from just looking at. He had a bit of a pensive and shifty air about him, like he was determining whether to kill everything in his vicinity or just a few of them.

It was always a hard choice.

For now, he just walked, some blood still evident on his face from his previous artistic spatter, because despite his effort to clear it off, it had smeared all over him. He was none the wiser, however, and just kept walking, past the two abominations making out against the lamp post and past the alley where a few smokey beings were cohearsing, past the two figures clad in red and talking very standoffishly... well, actually, the last one sounded promising. He stopped, backing up and watching them silently. He was clad in a darker color scheme than them, not quite as flashy, but he still seemed like a dangerous person in the way he wore them and how he presented himself.

He wasn't moving. He was observing. He wasn't saying anything, because he was listening. He was definetely there, too; it was like he wanted to be seen, like he wanted his prey to sense him and get their confidence up.
With a quick sneer, she stepped closer to the male with a gun pointed right at her. The sound of her voice was crude, and yet soothing.

"Do not title me as babe, and my name is no concern of you. I prefer not to give it away so freely."

Just then her sense flinched as another male was close at hand. The assassin turned around and knew she was facing him, through the dark shadow.

"It be safe dear, no monsters are coming to get you." She mockingly spoke, but she knew when it was time to stop. There were beings that were too cocky and overbearing, and the thought brought disgust in her eyes. Devilish, and dangerous, was all she wrote.

Great. First demons, serious chicks, then creepers. What's next? A cow jumping over the moon? Dante turned his head to look in the said direction to only notice another male. This one looking more aggressive and dangerous than the other humans. To lighten up the mood Dante smirked and said

"Now isn't this a party."

The hunter holstered his gun and then pointed at the two

"You two have impeccable timing. Now if you guys don't mind explaining to me what the hell is going on here?"
Logan Wortham (played by lunan)

"No monster could get me if they tried," came the response. "Not even the devil himself," he muttered quietly, then smiled a bit. "Babe," he said mockingly.

He liked to rile people up, just to see how they dealt with things and just how they would deal with him. He, of course, could deal with them if they tried anything with him in under three seconds, but he was still curious about humanity even after all these years.

Sure, he knew neither of the people in front of him were human. He also knew they'd stand by this fact for about as long as they lived. But compared to him, they were the most human things on the planet.

Logan just looked at the gun like it was the most saddening and concerning thing ever. "What's happening here is not something you can kill or stop, as far as I'm concerned," he said. "I just came for the show."
"Well," Turning back to face Dante, "Since you've asked nicely.. I am here to murder and live as I please. Demons, humans, it does not matter. I am but simply enjoying life like a devil should."

Once again, disappearing and reappearing at the building edge, as she leaned her petite bodice against the brick. She gave a low growl at Logan, before silently licking her lips in hunger.
Dante (played by Redgrave) Topic Starter

Not a surprise. She being a devil, he being more than human, this didn't interest Dante to say the least. Another scream is heard in the distance. This time it being a young female voice. Dante always had rotten luck with women, especially in these situations. The hunter smirked and shook his head.

"Tch, whatever. You two lovebirds have fun now! I have myself a party to catch!"

With that, Dante kissed his two fingers and waved them at the two creeps and started to walk his way towards the sound. Strange time and place to find those two. Then again they were in the intersection of the human world and limbo. The white haired man shook his head and then said aloud.

"I'm sure we'll meet again if you two keep killing humans like you do now."
As if whispering, she looked at Logan, before watching Dante leave around the corner.

"He has no clue, and to think a demon hunter should know better than to listen to a demon.."

Time passed for Dante as he roamed the dark streets of the city. More and more he heard screams left and right. Half of those screams were prostitutes getting pounded in the alley, the other half were screams of the innocent being torn to pieces by these demons. Dante continued on for some time before running into a large pack of demon hounds. These hounds were furless, bones petruding from their sides, and eyes filled with fire. They howled and charged up.

For Dante this was just a waste of time. But he had all the time in the world right now. So he charged up and began jumping on these animal's heads one by one. One of them jumped high into the air but Dante carelessly kicked the hound back onto the ground and landed on a billboard

"Down pooch!"

Dante cackled as he pulled out his guns once more. The dogs all jumped up and one by one tasted one of Ebony's and Ivory's customized bullets. And one by one they fell down dead...er...well they stopped moving. Dante carefully examined these animals again and noticed one was coughing like a human. Dante jumped down and with a swift chop of his hand he reached into the dog's mouth and pulled out what appeared to be a human eye. Dante examined the hound carefully only to come up with one solution. They aren't killing them. They're transforming them into these demons! Dante's cocky smirk faded as he stood up and looked up into the sky

"So this is your plan huh?"
Logan Wortham (played by lunan)

"Plan?" He asked smoothly. "I just came here because it had good cover," he said, justifying as to why he didn't know what she was talking about.

"Hell will, however, freeze over before I get myself into demons' problems. I'll be off."
Anya turned her head towards the the forested corner of the town, while a sorrow filled expression swept over her face. Logan was going to leave, and Anya suddenly didn't like that. She saw him begin to move, when she made an action that surprised herself.

"Wait!" She was no longer resting on the building, but moved to stop him before he could escape.

Frozen, Anya stood, with a stance that no longer seemed neither dangerous, or threatening. She couldn't explain the sudden outburst even if she wanted to.
