It is an universal truth that every story has to start at the beginning.

This is partially true. For while it is an universal truth that all stories start at the beginning, there is no saying on how they end, and how they end up being. Or where that beginning lies...

...but even so, let us follow the norm. Let us cross the borders and come to the Network. Let us see and dwell and watch the start of a new page.

The Network, eh? The mysterious organization led by Dr. Minerva Lockstone, present across various points on the globe.

Some call them Hunters. Others, the Caretakers. But truthfully, they are not one thing, nor the other.

The world is filled with mysteries, secrets and lies. The Network was founded two hundred years ago and it still has the same purpose: to investigate the supernatural happenings of the world, to protect humanity from the monsters and the monsters from humanity.

Right, so I've been thinking on this particular plotline for a long time, and decided to give it a shot

The Network -or the Association- is something spread out across the world, originally created in London, two hundred years ago. Its purpose is to catalogue, investigate and discover supernatural and mysterious creatures and beings.

And it is hiring, due to the deaths and resignments of the members of the America Network, after the Calist incident.

Anyway. This could possibly be a group or forum Roleplay, depending on the level of interest I'm bringing Minerva Lockstone, doctor and biologist, and a few other characters later on.

Sounds like there's a lot of opening here for some Call of Cthulhu-esque adventure-horror.

Actually, now you've got me thinking something like the Monster Hunter series. Though that's probably more off-the-wall than what you're thinking. Hopefully no one gets fed to an Elder Thing

Uh...I was actually working on some more info, but my computer went dead on me . For the third time today. Which lead to a small Rage Moment on my part -.-

The Network's purpose is not necessarily to kill and get rid of monsters and creatures. Instead, its purpose is to study them, and-generally-take-them-to-a-safe-environment type of thing.

Well, except when it's vampires who are not really on the sane side. Or vengful ghosts. Or monstrous Goldrafarks. Or Elder Things. Or door-to-door salesmen.

The points is, the Network generally tries to use stun guns, tazers and non lethal weapons ...at the start. When things get out of hand, however... well, let's just say that violence is quite the option.

"Aw, look, it's a monster with five tentacles! Let's get close to it." Famous last words.

There are about thirteen major bases of the Network spread across the world, each with their own Head and members. The global Head, however, is Dr. Minerva Lockstone, currently in America, to balance the losses that that part of the organization lost.

Also, they do have a few futuristic armaments, back there...

Heads up: just warning that I might have to go compline offline for some time (a week or a fortnight -.-). On the other hand, I might come to the RPR a couple of times to check this and other rps. Or I might not, uh, leave at all

Also, I would be looking for humans, enhanced humans, or humanoid supernaturals for this (ghouls, werewolves, Charledagns, etc.)

I just saw this, and I really must ask... What in the world is a Charledagn?

No idea. Vampire-like chap with horns, maybe. Or an Ogre. Or a charlemagnic Satyr. (Or a tentacle. It could always be a tentacle.)

If you don't know what it is, why did you list it with ghouls and werewolves?

I meant humanoid creatures. Vampires. Witches. That kind of thing. Thus the etc.

I know that, obviously. I just don't know what a "Charledagn" is.

Lol, I was just trying to make the point that it could be any known or unknown species, human or otherwise. You don't know what it is because I made it up

Ha, thanks I'm waiting to set up the Netork for some time. Er, but I'm still reticent on an actual group. We'll see. It depends on the level of interested people

Yeah true. Would make one interesting group though.

Quite so I'm thinking we'd need a few more people to start, though. You can't hunt horrific monsters/ mantain balance between the numerous sides of the supernatural world with only two members, lol.
