An hour passed, with James and Layla falling asleep soon after. It was only seven something in the morning when James and Layla began. Now, it was nine thirty. James awoke to a noise downstairs. The pack must be awake, he thought. He could hear them down there, watching television, talking with one another, and even getting breakfast started. "Aw hell, I forgot we we're going to make breakfast," he said to himself. He turned over and looked at Layla. She looked like an angel as she slept, no snores or loud noises coming from her slumber. James had chosen the perfect bride. But he couldn't get over the fact that he tensed up because of a cougar. Was it because I was attacked before? He thought. James shook his head. The lycanthrope slipped on his sweatpants and got out of bed. He walked around to the other side of the bed, leaning over and kissing Layla on the cheek. She smiled in her sleep, making a lovely moan as she moved her head. James walked over to the door. His eyes flashed from dark-brown to red, then back to dark-brown as he gripped the door knob. What has me tensing up? When he opened the door, he struck out with a growl, nearly hitting his brother, Michael Johnson, in the face. Michael dodged the blow with astonishment. "Whoa, take it easy, fool, it's me," said Michael. "Sorry, Mike," said James.
