James stood on the balcony of his mansion, which was only four steps down from the roof. He looked out, scanning the trees and roads beyond the gates. It was a beautiful morning, and he was wearing only his boxers, with his black sweatpants on over it. His muscular chest moved forward and back as he inhaled and exhaled deeply, taking in the lovely scent of morn. "Thank God for Saturday," he said to himself. "Up so early?" asked a familiar voice. James smiled and looked back at the door. His sexy wife, Layla Washington-Johnson, stood in the doorway. She was 5 ft. 6 with a curvy body, curly auburn hair, light brown eyes, and light skin. She was currently wearing a whit tank top and short bed shorts, the color of the sunset. She had the most beautiful smile on her face, her white teeth glittering. "Mornin', sweetie," said James. Layla walked up to her husband, embracing him. The two shared a passionate kiss before looking out over the balcony. "It's beautiful," he said. "No troubles, no interruptions, just you, me, and the pack," said James, kissing Layla on the neck. Layla giggled. "I couldn't ask for nothing more," she said. "The Protectors pack is perfect for this mansion, this land," said Layla. She turned to James, wrapping her arms around his neck. "And just think, soon we'll have little feet running around, making us laugh," said Layla. James knew what she meant. He wanted a child, even two or three, and would be the perfect father. "You wanna' get started?" he asked her. "James," giggled Layla. "We haven't even ate breakfast yet," she said. The two smiled and kissed each other. James suddenly tensed up. His "Alpha senses" were kicking in. His dark-brown eyes turned crimson red as he opened them, alert to something.

Layla sensed something was wrong. "What's wrong?" she asked. James turned his head to the left, peering out to the trees near the backyard. Layla followed his gaze. A cougar was slinking off, having caught and killed a hare. "False alarm," said James, his eyes returning to normal. Layla looked at him. "You let something as small as a cougar get you tensed?" she asked. "Hey, I was attacked by a cougar when I was twelve," said James. "Yeah, but that was after you were bitten, right?" asked Layla. "True," said James. Layla nudged James, saying, "Well loosen up, handsome." She placed her right hand into his. "Come make breakfast with your wife," said Layla, leading James through the doorway. James chuckled. He closed the door back and the two descended down twelve steps before entering a spectacular bedroom. "You sure you wanna' make breakfast first?" asked James. Layla halted, turning to look at James. He had an eyebrow arched with a devillish smile on his face. Layla couldn't say no. That face was like a weakening spell to her. She jumped into James's arms, wrapping her arms and legs around him. James wrapped his arms around his wife, kissing her passionately. James walked over to the king size bed, gently resting Layla on her back. She didn't release him. They went right into it.

An hour passed, with James and Layla falling asleep soon after. It was only seven something in the morning when James and Layla began. Now, it was nine thirty. James awoke to a noise downstairs. The pack must be awake, he thought. He could hear them down there, watching television, talking with one another, and even getting breakfast started. "Aw hell, I forgot we we're going to make breakfast," he said to himself. He turned over and looked at Layla. She looked like an angel as she slept, no snores or loud noises coming from her slumber. James had chosen the perfect bride. But he couldn't get over the fact that he tensed up because of a cougar. Was it because I was attacked before? He thought. James shook his head. The lycanthrope slipped on his sweatpants and got out of bed. He walked around to the other side of the bed, leaning over and kissing Layla on the cheek. She smiled in her sleep, making a lovely moan as she moved her head. James walked over to the door. His eyes flashed from dark-brown to red, then back to dark-brown as he gripped the door knob. What has me tensing up? When he opened the door, he struck out with a growl, nearly hitting his brother, Michael Johnson, in the face. Michael dodged the blow with astonishment. "Whoa, take it easy, fool, it's me," said Michael. "Sorry, Mike," said James.
