So, I'm being sent to the ER to have my appendix removed. Never had surgery or anything before so I'm more than a little frightened. I may not be on for a few days depending on how it goes. Wish me luck.

I'm so sorry that you're having to go through that! Is it a comfort at all to know that that is an incredibly routine surgery with very few risks? Your surgeon has almost certainly done it many, many times before and won't be surprised by anything!

I think removing an appendix is something they do everyday in the ER.
You should be fine, and even if you won't need it - good luck from me too

Don't worry. Appendectomies are very routine for many surgeons, so you'll be fine!

My dad had his taken out and it was no big deal. He was fine after a couple of days of rest, post surgery.

oh man! I will definitely keep you in my prayers, good luck! Just try to relax and trust the doctors. Appendix stuffs get removed all the time, so it should be okay! I totally understand your apprehension though, just relax and it will be done before you know it! Praying for a speedy recovery too, hang in there!

It was confirmed twice that I was going have surgery, however when they checked for the third time they didn't find anything wrong so my doctors were pretty confused. As far as I know I won't be having surgery, but I still need to check up. Unfortunately, though, I'm limited to walking, but it's at least better than this morning where I couldn't at all and the pain/ache/cramping is still present. So, no one knows the cause so far.. Just hoping to get better.

Ha! The threat of surgery scared your appendix into behaving.
