Ruby was sitting in a chair with a pile of books sitting in front of her. She picked one up labeled "History of the Stars" her yellow eyes staring at the pages with much interest. She stopped reading after a couple of pages and got up to go look for more books in the library. She did find it quite odd that no one else was in the library but she didn't mind. She plucked a random book off the shelf and went to go sit back down her purple hair swaying behind her.
Mariah walked into the library. It looked pretty empty, so she felt at ease to skip down the walkways in search for some books on the native plants in her area. Light shined in from high windows, and bounced of the calming brown walls and bookshelves, causing Mariah to sigh at how beautiful it was. After grabbing a few books, she went to find a place to sit, and saw a young girl with magenta hair that swayed with every incoming breeze.
Mariah quickly fixed her posture and stance. Her family pressed about the way she presented herself in front of others. She went and gracefully sat near the girl.
"Hello." she said with a bow of her head.

Ruby looked at the girl who introduced herself. "Hello" she said in a low and soft voice.
Mariah smiled in response. She must have been shy. Mariah lacked friends who like to read, so she thought that this would be a great time to make one. "My name is Mariah." She introduced. She stuck a hand out, making her long hair slide over her shoulder and shine in the sunlight. She tilted her head slightly, waiting for the girl to shake her hand.
Ruby slowly raised her shaking hand. She rarely ever talked to people because she mostly isolated herself. She did eventually shake the girl's hand and then withdrew her own hand into her lap.
Mariah had never seen a girl so shaky. The fashion in which the girl had quickly retreated her hand slightly offended her, but she pushed the feeling away to focus on how to attempt to start a conversation. She tried to find something the girl would be comfortable and at ease with.
"So," she began, turning her head to take a peek at the book the girl was holding, "What're you reading?" she finished, turning her face up so that she could make eye contact with the girl. Mariah's eyes glistened green, which flattered her round face and dark hair.

Ruby showed the front of the book to the girl which read "Elements and their Use".
"Oh cool!" Mariah enthused. She backed out of the girl's personal space and smiled warmly. "What have you learned so far?", she asked, putting her chin on her folded hands. She looked back and forth between the girl and the book, awaiting a response.
(Hey guys can I join?)
"Fire is bad" Ruby said in a low soft voice
(Sure Jason)

(( welcome jasonnnnnn))
Mariah giggled at the young girl's answer. "Anything else?" She was still smiling from the girl's silly response.

"Ice is pretty" Ruby said softly
"It is." Mariah smiled. The girl must have been so shy. She started to wonder whether or not she should just move and leave the girl alone.
"Whats your name?" Mariah asked, fixing her stack of books.

"Ruby" Ruby said softly
Mariah tilted her head.
"Ruby is a very pretty name! Nice to meet you Ruby."
Mariah picked up her books and was about to leave the library.
"Maybe our paths will cross again? See you later."
She inhaled the warm air as she walked away and could smell a faint smell of cinnamon.
I love the library. Mariah thought.

Victor stood looking over the bookshelves for anything interesting. Because of how tall he was he had no problems reaching high shelves. Hearing talking he looked around the corner of the shelf he was at and saw two young women conversing about magic. As he watched one walk away he decided he wanted to join in and walked over and began to introduce himself in his normal happy demeanor. "Good afternoon madame. My name is Victor. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He Said.
(Introducing a fai d flourite character.)

Ruby shook a little "more people" she said to herself.
Mariah could hear a male voice and stopped walking. She turned around to see a tall young man.
She stood a good distance away and watched him introduce himself to the shy girl.

Victor looked at the girl and saw that she must be shy. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you. I just heard you speaking of the elements so I thought I'd join the conversation. But I see talking is something you wouldn't like to do so I'll just sit and read my book." Victor sat down in a chair across from her and opened his book.
"No I'm sorry for being so shy" Ruby said in a normal tone. She realized as much she didn't want to she needed to learn to step out of her comfort zone who knows maybe she will make a friend.
