"Do you know how to concentrate your energy?" Victor asked as he stood up from his chair.
"Ummmmmm well I just use my magic I don't really concentrate" Ruby said looking down.
"Alright then. I will make this pretty simple so you can learn to make it snow inside. Imagine the magic energy coming off of your body from anywhere due to a specific movement. Now imagine that energy becoming a cloud covering the ceiling and snow falling from the cloud. For instance, I can make it snow by twirling my finger in the air. Snow is rather helpful for ice magic." Victor explained.
"Uhhhhhhhhh that seems like a lot of work" Ruby said tilting her head
"Well magic is rather complex. But I'm sure you'll be able to do it." Victor promised.
"Okay" Ruby said trying to think of snow And ended up making books fly of the shelves.
One of the books hit Victor in the head and fell to the ground. Curious, he picked it up and looked at the title. "The life and times of Edward Smith: the mage who brought snow to the dessert. Well I guess you were close." He said.
Ruby looked a little disappointed "I don't think I'll be able to make snow" Ruby said looking down.
Victor patted her back gently. "It's okay ruby. You'll be able to make it eventually. I believe in you." He said with a smile.
"Thanks" Ruby said looking up.
"Why don't we go outside and try to teach you to summon a small cloud?" Victor suggested.
"Okay" Ruby said walking outside the sunlight blinding.
Victor followed her out and looked around the outside of the library. "Okay, let's get a little bit away from the library." He said.
(Neil do they all live at the library and they've just never noticed other people until now?)
(Neil do they all live at the library and they've just never noticed other people until now?)
(no it is just a random library)
"So Victor were do you come from" Ruby asked.
"So Victor were do you come from" Ruby asked.
(hey I am going somewhere so I can't reply for a while)
"Oh, far away from here. Do you live close to here, ruby?" Victor said. He lived in a country of ice so he found that ice magic came naturally to him.
((meanwhile))
Mariah fell asleep with a book in her hands. Her head was tilted off to the side, hidden in her hair. She could be heard inhaling and exhaling, and occasionally letting out a sharp snore. She was not a quiet sleeper.
Mariah fell asleep with a book in her hands. Her head was tilted off to the side, hidden in her hair. She could be heard inhaling and exhaling, and occasionally letting out a sharp snore. She was not a quiet sleeper.
Victor heard snoring not too far from where he and ruby were. Curious as to who was the source of it, he walked around following the snoring until he was standing over Mariah still wearing his normal white fur coat. Wanting to help he placed it over her as a blanket and went back to ruby. "How about this? We're going to practice over there." He said, pointing to where Mariah was resting. The ice mage lead the girl to the tree where the elf was asleep and sat down next to her under the tree as he prepared to watch ruby practice.
"Okay" Ruby said trying to summon snow again but failed and ended up snapping the tree in half and making it fall.
Seeing the tree fall Victor took his gloves off and touched the trunk of the tree, freezing it in place. "That was close." He sighed as he moved the tree away from falling on Mariah.
