"Oops" Ruby said.

"Its a good thing I'm the one teaching you, otherwise we might've not been able to save her." Victor said as he slipped his gloves back on.

Mariah let out a loud snore as she finally awoke. She jolted up as her cheeks flushed a bright red. She was sprawled on the ground and against a rock, not very lady-like, let alone princess-like. She was pretty sure she was snoring. Loudly. Mariah sat there in embarrassment and just looked at the two between messy strands of hair.

"I'm not sure I can even learn magic" Ruby said.

Victor looked at Mariah and then at ruby. "Well I think exactly the opposite. You have shown amazing power, just not in the magic you want to learn. Have you thought of trying any of the other elemental magics like earth or wind? Maybe fire even?" He asked.

Mariah pushed her crazy hair back and pulled herself into a criss-cross sitting position.
She sat up and continued to listen to their conversation about majiks.

Mariah looked over at Mariah. "Excuse me Mariah may I have my coat back?" He asked politely.

"Fire" Ruby repeated the word and cringed at it. She held her hands to her head. "Fire, fire, fire" she shouted making the ground tremble and crack.

"Uh oh. Looks like I had to go and say the one word that would do that." Victor went to ruby's side and put his hand on her shoulders as he knelt in front of her, twirling his index finger again causing it to snow. "Ruby, it's okay. It's snowing. There's no fire for miles of here." He promised her.

Mariah let out an Oh! and handed Victor his coat that she had in her lap.
"My apologies." she chuckled nervously.

Mariah was surprised by Ruby's negative response to fire and took note.

Victor took his coat and draped it over ruby's shoulders, hoping that would help comfort her.

Ruby calmed down a little but still had a frightened expression on her face.

Victor smiled at the girl in front of him. "If you ever get scared you can talk to me. I'm usually good at calming people down." He said.

Ruby shook her head no and then she sat down and went back to being silent.

Mariah placed a hand on Ruby's hand and gave her a sympathetic look, and then took her hand off and sat quietly for a second.

"So with magic.....you just...think of it and it happens?" Mariah looked up at Victor quizzically.

"Most of the time for me anyways. Can't you use magic?" Victor asked Mariah.

"If I can, I wouldn't know...." Mariah said.
Then she lifted up a hand and thought snowball, and ended up creating a ball of ice.
Her hand dropped slightly under the surprising weight.
Her eyes widened and she stared at the ball of ice.
"I-I did that?" She looked in amazement. She didn't know she could use magic. It wasn't a snowball she created, but nonetheless she had the ability to use magic!

Victor took the ball of ice from her and looked at it carefully. Without him saying anything the ice turned into a beautifully sculpted miniature ice statuette of a butterfly. "Here you go." He said, handing it back to Mariah.
