Probably just my non-existent OCD and love of nitpickiness, but I like subforums. I like them a lot. They keep stuff nice and tidy and provide a way to easily split up (potentially) large forums into smaller, more easily-read chunks.
For examples, dividing a whole city into districts instead of having the whole area to deal with (and possibly confusing who is where and when). Or splitting a huge, multi-player, multi-act RP up into sub-acts within the same forum, instead of having them all put together in one giant clusterfunk of a forum.
Is there a way to do that within one's Group forums, and if not, then maybe it could be considered for future development?

Currently not possible. Not sure what Kim's thoughts on it are in regards to adding them in the future.
The way I see it/have experienced first hand is that people tend to try and arrange very little info in too many forums. Meaning, they end up making a whole IC/OOC forum for the sake of only 2-3 topics for the first week, only to never post into it again.
The result is that a forum ends up looking inactive because while there is this super nice layout of forums (and potentially subforums), most of it goes unused because the group has no capacity to fill it up. This negatively impacts first impressions and, ironically, makes information harder to find because more clicks need to be made to accomplish finding the info they need. I've seen this very often and done it myself in the past, and it's not as efficient as it sounds in practice for most people.
I definitely see what you mean in regards to your example, but I also don't see this happening very often at all. I've never encountered such a situation in the 4 years I've been here myself, and I think it's an issue that is just as easily fixed with prefixing a topic title as it would be shoving the topics into layers upon layers of subforums. That's just my take on it though.

What Sanne said is 100% true -- fewer forums = better chance of an active forum.
That said, for mega-groups, we might offer some way of categorizing forums in future.
You CAN drag your forums into a particular order, so you can at least keep them all together in related bunches for now even if you can't title those bunches at present.
