Quite the time had passed since the half-elf had actually left the comfort and relative luxury of Mithras Keep, but finally, the itch of wanderlust had proven too great to ignore. That, and arrangements had been made to keep her daughter busy while her mate also once more delved into the duties and tasks that the Keep and Archmage expected of him.
Several days of travel had taken the adept mage out of one of the main cities, but still enough on the fringes for there to be the signs of civilisation that she sought such as the occasional tavern for wayward travellers, farms and other such trappings that tried to make what coin they could from those coming and going. T'was in one such tavern that the half-elf finally decided to enter to rest for the night. Reining in and dismounting smoothly with a rattle of metal coming from the plated belt that she wore at her hips, the stable boy was flicked a silver coin to care for her Arabian mount adequately before she entered the small establishment itself.
Her attire might have marked her out immediately, even despite the long, thick and enveloping cloak that for the most part kept it hidden - an orbansa, a garment designed to make everyone look the same at first glance, purchased from when within a kingdom where looking too different could mean Separation, and death. But once inside and satisfied that the atmosphere was decidedly more welcoming than not, she drew the hood back away from her features; slightly pointed ears, silver eyes with a ring of gold and fine strands of grey woven into the foremost of those thick black curls. Making her way over to the counter, she took up a seat before patiently waiting for the bartender to make his way over.
And in the meantime, beginning that almost unconscious habit of listening in on the conversations going on around her, filtering through them for any signs of any interesting events or rumours going on in the area.

Just a few days earlier Athens had come across a lonely cottage and asked the man inside if he could rest for the night. The man had been crying and told him of a ghost haunting his house, curious Athens looked around and sure enough a dark spirit was dwelling within the walls creating illusions and trick to make the man begin to go insane. Athens was a mortal defender of sorts and would not stand a spirit like this torment the man but be immune to any attack he may try to fend off. It wasn't fair, so Athens killed the spirit...
A man near her was speaking of the stranger he had met and had vanquished a ghost with his special dagger. A stranger who had helped him out in a time of need! He was just so shocked, 'how does one even kill a spirit?' He continued to ask himself and the people all around him. Either he was making it all up for free drinks or he had actually run into a man like that. The old crock described him as golden blonde hair and spelling of dragon smoke. Even though most dragons had been extinct for decades now.
While the man spoke of him, Athens had made his way to the next town. He had heard rumors of an ancient temple that miners had found gold in crested into the walls at. That was all well and good to him, he didn't really care, but it was also said that a powerful immortal lay inside and was killing the miners. So he made his way to the temple, not to research ancient righting a or get some of the gold out of the walls, but to kill the immortal that was laying waste to mortal miners.

[Kind of difficult to really move it on past her eavesdropping if they aren't actually in the same place by now.]
((OCC: hear about the miners...))
