No hiding a rise in heartbeat though! A crude grin cracked his face. "Yes, really. Sleep is a state in which you can remove your inhibitions and your conceptions of what can and can not be. What I am challenges many, even those who want to know what I am. Sleep is your best method of reaching it--it is a reality bordering dream, where you perceive anything as possible."
Draeval found the conversation interesting and didn't interrupt. Well at least until Ash had finished talking. "Lord, is it common in your lineage to have sort of dream weaving abilities?" Just curious.
Philomela was still all sorts of red, and she'd nod, "I...I know. I mean...when I sleep, sometimes I see things. A lot of times I don't understand them." Like the nightmare she'd relay'd to Luci. "I just don't know if it would work when I was sleeping..." She'd hug herself a little tighter, and she's still using her hair to hide her face, "You're welcome to try though."
"Why wouldn't it work?" His question to Mela was simple, and answered first before even attempting to parse Draeval's. "My direct lineage, as in the fruit of my loins, only goes so far as the areas of direct astral projection; some find it easier to do in the realm of sleep. When it comes to those I call family--for example, Via, of whom you know--yes. He walks and weaves dreams without even thinking about it, and thereby those related to him carry similar gifts. Why?"
Let them speak but when he was spoken to he looked back up and shrugged lightly, "It is not a very...wide spread gift. I was just curious. And I know so little of the lineage of you three. I suppose my curious nature is popping out." He really was just curious.
Philomela bit her lip, "Well...I just always thought of it like...when I'm in a trance while I'm awake. Nobody's ever been able to break me out of one. I'm just not sure how it works when I'm asleep." She'd shrug, "You're welcome to try. Seeing you would probably be much nicer than most of the things that I dream up."
"They are mine by mind, not blood." It was as close as he could put it in relatively concise terms.
Philomela earned a momentary deflection of his gaze. Amazing, the things you can see without a pair of raybans concealing his visage. "Not as nice as you might think, but I will attempt to acquiese to your request." With that, he pressed off the wall again. "Draebal, might I ask permission to use your eyes for a while? And if possible, look a bit in whichever direction I occupy to ensure I do not trip over anything." The request is likely confusing at best. Literally use his eyes? I want to give the good maiden some time to reach sleep without my distractions. ...If you agree, look down at her and make sure I'm not due to step on her or Namine."

Nodded gently, "I can...understand that. More than you might think." Ahem.
Ash asks of him and the wolf bites his lip, "Of course Lord, they...may prove some adjusting but yes you may take use of my eyes." Heh, Ash would get the use of predators eyes, color blind and sharp. Perhaps Ash had used a canine's before, if he had he'd probably recognize them. If not he may think Drae exceptionally odd.

Philomela figured anything was better than the awful images she'd had recently. "Thank you Lord. I look forward to it." She'd finally look up and give him a smile, even if he couldn't see it. He wants to make use of Draeval's eyes, and she'll hold still so as not to confuse things. "I suppose this is good night then Lord Pan."
Ash had used an odd repetoire of lenses, straight through to mirrors, through which to see. As long as he had enough to confidently step over the oracle and her goat, he stepped alongside Draeval. "Animal eyes. Interesting." He could identify that much at a glance, if not much more. Wolves weren't alone in being colorblind. Once clear of her, he used Draeval's eyes to stare back at her, although it was off by at least a few inches, no doubt. "Good night, for now. Draebal, you and I--let's walk." Still wearing his civilian clothing, even the sandals attempted poorly to conform to his animal feet, making it look like he was walking on his toes. He shoved his hands in his pockets and set to swagger his way out, giving the woman time to speak.
"It seems you know me in some era. And, knowing me, it is no wonder you thought so ill of me. Whatever irritations I have with you are already gone. I am past the age of holding grudges. Too old for that." Then again, he was always pretty damn old, wasn't he? But even by this period, he was a few thousand at least. "Is there anything else to speak of?" He tried to take to the roads as Draeval's eyes would allow him.

Draeval smiled at Mela as Ash asked him to go with him, "Rest peacefully." He did look to Ash when the animal eyes was stated, "Ah, um yes Lord." What was he to say? I'm a wolf masked a as a man? Not in the company of Namine or Mela, now anyway.
He and Ash went walking. Funtimes, Drae did an awful lot of walking in Egypt. Good for him though. Ash continued to speak and he bit his lip, "I never thought ill of you Lord, I suppose I have issues understanding you. And the others at times as well. I'm not..." He tried to formulate an easy way to say it.
"I was not able to be with you three as much as I would have liked, those that I'm close to in my time have been with you for much longer. They have knowledge I may never have, some understanding I may never gain. In many ways I believe I might be a bit jealous."
As for his eyes, the night would be easier for him to see. Drae's predator eyes were accustomed to it and while he wasn't a skilled hunter due to his size and frame he did have great vision. Well except he was in human form, but they didn't change that much.

Philomela would bow her head, "Goodnight Lord Pan. Sleep well." She'd wave at Draeval, "You too Draebal." With that, she was getting herself and Namine settled into the stall, she'd use the goat for warmth now that Ash had taken his leave.
"Then perhaps you should take the time to know me. While some information is guarded for the better of many, other things I would gladly tell. I am prone to silence and ungivingness, but only because the right question has not been asked. Whenever you return, unless you've performed some great trespass against me in the future, you are more than welcome to ask and learn what you need to. I can not speak for the others on their openness, but there is a necessity in the thirst for knowledge to learn anything regarding any of us. So... how much have you asked?"
Draeval bit his lip, "I..." He swallowed he couldn't tell him he was in the process of being reborn. "...will have to do that Lord." But perhaps Ash could hear the mixed emotions in that statement. Regardless Drae grew silent as they walked, what more could he say? He was worried that too much information would affect things, and besides that he personally didn't like bad news so he doubted Ash would.
Draeval was quiet for a few moments, contemplating what he could ask. What he was most wanting to know, "Mmmm, now...now I..." He was at a sudden loss, he wasn't good with this thinking on the fly thing. As obvious by his reference to a giant bird with people in it's belly. "I would ask to hear what is on your mind Lord."
He shuffled along the roads, occasionally catching a minor obstacle with his typically awkward feet but catching himself in spite of drink. "...Mm, that question is more unfair to you than even to me." He pondered for a few moments, strutting the road. "I wonder what angle there is right now--why the new sun has any more interest in Via than he had before. It was an older aspect of him that fixated on him before, and the results were less than pristine. No... I believe the last time, I witnessed the only thing to rob a smile from his face and keep it hidden." He considered on that, head low. "I've approached the entire affair as neutrally as I can perceive, but I know that my counsel must be faulty. It is as if... I battle a shadow of myself and my brother all at once, with a damsel caught in the midst who I dare not speak too much of it to. The more I influence her, the more likely it is she will befall some form of wrath." You wanted his thoughts? There. "...I want no ill to become of her. It is more due to that, than for fear of her gifts, that I have left her unsullied. If it were only for her gifts, I would have done what I do best. There is only minimal possibility that it is directly tied to his own desires. Tonight only emphasized that."
Looked at Ash and smiled softly, "Perhaps, perhaps not. One can learn much from another's thoughts and worries." Once that was said he took to listening to Ash.
The thoughts in Ash's mind were interesting, his concern for Mela was obvious and that intrigued Drae. When Ash finished he sighed softly, "I do not wish ill to fall of her, she reminds me greatly of my wife. I suppose that's why I have been more than a little overprotective of her. If there is anything I can do to help, while I'm here I would be interested in such."
He bit his lip, "So, this complication between them is nothing new. I thought as much from what I'd heard but I suppose hearing it from the goat's mouth is more reliable." He pondered what Ash had just spoken of, "It is obvious you care of her well being Lord, sullied or not she has a very powerful protector. I have...knowledge of her Lord, but can't say much good to the point of that. She's a gifted one, it is not surprising that she caught his eye."

Ash's eye snapped towards Drae's--which was surprisingly accurate after two brief adjustments considering he actually had to work off of Draeval's vision and stare... his own vision in the eye. "And what might you know?" He found more interest in that than anything; the rest could be settled on wordlessly as concurrances. "...And by goat, do you mean Namine, or another?"
