A young teenage girl stood atop the steps of George Washington Preparatory School, a backpack hanging on her shoulder by one strap and her fiery red hair in a tangled mess. She had been to several schools already this year, each one ending in something bad and mysterious happening. The first school had "mysteriously" flooded while she had been in the bathroom, and the second school's dormitory area's had caught fire while she had been in there, right where the fire had started.
She had given up on leading a normal life, trouble following her wherever she went and getting her into some serious shit. Looking up at the school, she gave a sigh of anticipation hoping she wasn't going to mess this school up like the other ten school's she had already attended. The girl opened the huge doors to reveal a grand foyer, stairs circling up to higher floors in a beautiful arcing motion. Letting out a whistle of surprise, she looked for the headmasters office in the huge school.

Noan was careening down the halls as three much bigger boys chased after him. He whizzed past the vice principal who was already lecturing a couple of kids who had skipped out on the first period. "Stop this instant!" He yelled but only one of the three boys stopped. The other two just continued after their target. Their target understood that running too fast that although may help him get further away from danger, it would make him stand out. Standing out too much was terrible. "Fix it!" the black haired boy known as Aiden yelled. "No! It's a work of art!" Noan shouted back taking another turn. On second thought, standing out was far more favorable than getting the goo beat out of him. He sped up, just enough to break line of sight.
It was not long before Noan ran by the circling stairs, his shoe landing on one errant paper and sliding him head long into the rails. The crash could be heard echoing through the halls. "I'm okay. My spine may have exploded into a bazillion pieces but I'm okay!"

A girl with fiery red hair had been heading down the hallway when she heard a huge crash coming from the stairs at the end of the hallway, earning some opened door and glares from teachers. "I'll see." She called down the hallway, knowing the teachers trusted her to look after this kind of thing. After all, it was probably some dumb ass kid setting off fireworks in the stairwell again or an even stupider one trying to surf down the stairs on a lunch tray.
Walking towards the stairwell with a sigh, she saw the dented railing and the boy laying at the bottom of the steps, a piece of paper fluttering over his face and onto his chest. Sliding down the opposite railing, she stood on the step next to the boy as he exclaimed he was ok.
"Who you talking to?" She asked, probably surprising the boy with her sudden appearance.

He laid there on his back, feeling the world spin around him. The paper that fluttered on him was there to mock him, he knew it. He sat up rubbing his face and mumbled to the girl. "Well you're here aren't you?" He opened his eyes to a red haired girl that didn't look anything like any red harried girls that he already knew in the school. In other words, she was a new one. With a great deal of spark and energy about her.
Yells from down the hall snapped him out of his deep stare, causing him to jump to his feet and run behind Zoeandria. He attempted to grab her arms and should he be successful, hold them out to the side so that he may hide behind her. Aiden came to a slow stop, still panting, his comrad followed much further behind him. he could see through Noan's clever ruse and waved Zoe to step aside. "Fix it, or I will push you down the stairs."
"All two steps?"
"Don't be a smart ass." Aiden grew tired of Noan's antics and marched up to Zoe, staring her down. "Move. Aside."

"I only came here so the teachers upstairs didn't have to." The girl said smugly crossing her arms over her chest, making her look like a rebellious kid.
The girl heard the yell from down the hallway and watched the boy try to hide behind her, yanking her hands away from him. Standing her ground, she watched as the local bullies arrived looking wore out and out of patience.
Raising an eyebrow to Aiden's command, she recrossed her arms over her chest. "Or what? You'll make me move?" She asked, staring right back at Aiden with no mercy.

Noan's eyebrows wrinkled a bit at that logic. He thought the teachers would come regardless since the safety of the students were in part their jobs after all. "Yeah what ever you say ginger." He ducked back behind Zoe. Aiden stared down at Zoe and gave her the slow blink. The much larger boy decided the easiest course of action was to simply attempt to grab her by the shoulders, lift her up and set her aside.
"Mr. Aiden Westfield! Stop this instant!" That came from the vice principal who was dragging the third one that fell behind by the arm. "If any of you so much as raises a hand to one another, each of you will get detention!"
Aiden stepped back pointing at Noan, "He ruined my sister's webpage and he won't fix it!" "I don't care what he did!" At that moment, the vice's eyes landed on Zoe, who was not heading to class at all. "And where is your hall pass miss?"

The girl was a little glad that the vice principal had interrupted when he did, something else might have happened if he hadn't arrived. Looking at the third bully being dragged behind the vice principal, she listened to Aiden's story about how the boy behind her ruined his sister's webpage and won't fix it.
Looking calmly up from where she had been staring, the girl pulled a neatly folded hall pass from her jeans and showed it to the vice principal. The handwriting on it was barely legible, but one could still see the date March 18th very faintly in the upper hand corner. That was two weeks ago. The girl had been using the same pass for two weeks to get out of class and go to the library to read, her work already finished before she even left class.

Noan slowly inched away from the group hoping to fade into the background as somebody else's problem. This was so, for the mighty grip of the Vice principal's hand had latched onto his arm like a vice. With a free hand, the vice president whose shiny name tag read Mr. Gilt, took Zoe's hall pass and scrutinized it. "How long have you had this? That's it. All of you. Into the office now." Poor Mr. Gilt was already having a rough day, and now he was going to have to call many parents today.
Noan usually stayed a little further away from the group but he tried to inch himself towards Zoe. "Psssst. Thanks. Also psssst. Can I borrow your parents?"

(Were going to ignore the part where it says she was new......)
Recognizing the question as a rhetorical one, the girl kept her mouth shut and followed the principal, Mr. Gilt. What idiot would have the last name of Gilt, it sounds very similar to guilt. She thought to herself, playing with a strand of her hair.
Noises that sounded like a child's attempt at getting her attention came from her left side, quiet and not very subtle. "Sorry," She whispered back, "Don't got any to spare, but you can borrow my aunt. She usually doesn't give a flying hoot about what happens to me."

(Okay fine with me.)
Noan seemed satisfied with this answer. He asked, and she said it was okay. All he needed was a few tid bits of information. "What's your name?" He tried to whisper again. 'You want to be friends? We should be friends." He reached into the pocket of his jacket and fumbled with something. He just needed just a little longer. "Mr. Gilt, Can I go to bathroom? I really need to go really badly."
"No you don't and you;re not sneaking off into bathroom."
Aiden spoke up seeing this as an opportunity, "If Noan goes, I can make sure he doesn't. Mr. Gilt."
"On second thought, I can hold it."
"That's enough out of you two." Mr. Gilt stopped by the administration office and opened the door for each of them to march in. Inside were six chairs in a line outside of Mr. Gilt's office.
The secretary looked up from his computer up to Gilt and each of the children. "Jonah, could you please pull up their files. Mister, Aiden, you're first." The taller boy groaned and disappeared into the office, leaving the rest to sit down. Regardless of what Zoe did, Noan would sit nearest to her, and every now and then look into his pocket as if he was trying to covertly play with his cell phone. "What's your aunts name? How long have you been here?"

"Zoeandria, but my friends call me Zoe." She whispered back, surprised he already wanted to be friends with her. "Ok?" She added cautiously. Changing the subject fast seemed to be one of Noan's specialties as he tried to go to the bathroom.
She sat in the chair closest to the window, wondering why Noan was sitting so close when he started asking questions about her aunt. "Maria King, and I moved here a couple months ago. Why?" She asked, secretly hoping that he had a plan to get them both out of here.

While the secretary was busy with paper work and calling in the parents of the other three kids, Noan pulled out his cell phone and started to text something on the net. "Because if I'm going to borrow your aunt, I might as well know her name you know? Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you my name. I'm Noan! You can call me Noan. All of my friends on the websites call me Noan." Because that is how he thought friends and nicknames worked. "Two months is a long time, no actually it's not. I just never noticed you here before."
The secretary looked up as he pulled up the files on Noan and Zoe on the computers. He squinted his eyes and then looked between the two of them. "You two are cousins?"
"Yep!" The boy beamed back up. Obviously shenanigans was a foot but the secretary could not pin point it. "Okay, that saves me a call." He turned around to start calling parents on the phone.
This time Noan had a much quieter whisper. "So, I can't help but notice that you have a magical pull and aura about you. So which one are you related to?"

"Ya, that would be wise. I usually kept myself locked in the library or in my classes..." She responded, noticing her talked a lot, and I mean a whole lot. Twiddling her thumbs, she waited impatiently for them to call her aunt already, it wasn't like she actually cared.
She was about to open her mouth to answer the secretary when Noan answered for her, beaming idiotically. Going back to her slumped posture, she was surprised by Noan's next question.
"What do you mean magical pull and aura? And which one what?" Zoe asked confused, watching Noan with more interest now.

Noan frowned at Zoe's response. "But that's so sad and boring. There's like no one to talk to in the library except on the computer."
Meanwhile the secretary had finished calling the other boy's parents and just now reached Zoe. "Hello Miss? Yes, I would like to speak to you about Zoe and Noan. Zoe and Noan. You know, your niece and nephew."
Noan ignored the conversation but focused on Zoe, his eyes widening with surprise. "Okay keep it down." He ignored the fact that his own voice was typically a lot louder. "Um... I guess you don't know or something. That's sad and that makes me sad. Do you want to hang out after school?"
As soon as he asked that, the three boys marched out of the office and Mr. Gilt was standing at the door way, waving to Zoe to enter. "Miss King, I would like to have a word with you." "Just a second- Mr. Guilt?" The secretary spoke up pointing to the two of them. "Their aunt says that Zoe is with her but she doesn't know of Noan." The two adults seemed to be too busy figuring out what had happened to the files.

"Exactly, It isn't that hard to hack the computers here." She whispered back at him, pleased with herself. Be be truthful, she only hacked the computer because it wouldn't let her on FaceBook to check her messages.
Ignoring the secretary's conversation as well, She went about trying to figure out why she was sad, twirling her hair in her finger. "Um, sure. If we don't get, like, detention." She snickered a little too loudly, the secretary ignoring her completely.
Getting up from her seat when Mr. Gilt exited his office after the boys, she paused when the secretary said her aunt didn't know Noan, fear gripping at her conscious. Thinking fast, she tried to figure out an excuse that would pass.

Noan could not actually believe that Zoe hacked the computers. It wasn't what he meant but then again most people did not actually talk to machinery unless it was mean hurtful things. "After detention then?" His eyes turned to Mr. Gilt, and he shrank some.
Mr. Gilt was aware of the kid being an IT sort of trouble maker. Even the teachers turned to him to fix a problem with all sorts of issues, which enabled him to have access to all sorts of things. Just how could he prove it? The Vice principal waved Zoe to follow him into the office but turned to the secretary. "Zachary could you do me a favor and call security after this? I need to have security footage pulled up."
Zachary nodded quietly as he juggled two different conversations. He placed a hand over the speaker end of the phone, "Just a moment. Zoe, your aunt would like to have a word with you." Noan sank in his seat, trying to make himself the least visible as he could. This had the opposite effect.
((At this point I think its best to give you control over your characters family members. I'll shoot you a pm for some ideas that can happen and you can tell me what you think of them.)

The aunt's shrill voice could be heard even from a foot away. "ZOEANDRIA! What does this idiot mean by a cousin!? Since when were you going to tell me this!?"[/i] Even Gilt cringed at the woman's shriek and blinked. There was a hint of sympathy for the girl, who had to deal with this woman. "When I took you in! I only only ever intended to take you in as a favor to your mother! I feed you, and house you and this is how you pay me back? You drag in some other child of your father to stay without even telling me!?" Her voice only grew louder and higher in pitched. Even Noan was cowering in the corner from the sound. he wondered briefly if the woman kept yelling, if she would explode.
Zoe accepted the phone and put it a couple inches from her ear, expecting the outburst from her aunt. She listened to her aunt screaming through the phone, waiting for a break in the yelling to talk.
"You done now?" She asked, her voice having a deadly edge to it. "Ever since my mom disappeared and left me on your filthy doorstep, you have treated me horribly. I'm tired of it, you don't even care about me. You're always out in some foreign country doing who knows what and leaving me in your neighbors house when your gone." Zoe spoke into the phone softly, like a whisper. It was a whisper that said her aunt had pushed her last button, which was something that few people did.
Without waiting for an answer, Zoe slammed the phone back down onto the receiver and sat next to Noan. "Not that that is out of the way, can we just get on with our detentions?" Zoe asked, rubbing the side of her face. She had never lost her temper that badly before, much less with her aunt.
