Griffin struggled to pay attention to the lecture. The teacher was talking too fast for him to take notes, and the subject wasn't too enthralling, either. He looked around at his classmates, tapping his pen against his palm.
A girl with blue hair was sitting in front of him, and a red-haired girl was talking with a tall boy. The one who had almost sent him sprawling in the lobby, he noted. There was a small pop to his left, and he saw a girl with a broken pen on her desk. Black ink was splattered on her teeth, like abstract tattoos or shadows in a forest. The bell rang, and he jumped out of his seat, nearly running into the blue-haired girl.
"Sorry, sorry!" he said immediately.

Veata looked up as the bell went off for lunch, all the other students seemed to be packing their bags up and heading to the dining hall, so she did the same. Well...it was dinner after all...
The blonde haired boy she had seen earlier nearly ran her over, but she didn't hold grudges and carried on walking. She wondered what would be for lunch as she entered the cafeteria,
Her eyes lit up when she saw tacos on one of the food isles
" TACOS!! " Veata silently screamed, she headed towards the que and grabbed a tray.

Good God, What do they put in the air at this school? Gabriel thought to himself, as the now delicious scent demanded his attention. He looked around the room and saw the girl with mismatched eyes was in this class as well, and that she had an empty seat next to her. He waited until the teacher exited the room when an official knocked on the door, and he moved himself next to her.
"You know, we have similar eyes." Gabriel told her while he looked at her blue with his gold and her red with his grey.

Camille jumped at the sound of the bell, having been lost in her thoughts toward the end of the lecture. She was contemplating the various ways she could keep the ink in her teeth, like maybe not brushing her teeth for a few days...
The sound of a male voice caught her attention as she gathered her pens, broken and unbroken alike, into her pocket.
"What do you mea-?" Her question was cut off when her eyes met his. She had never met anyone with such a trait before, especially not with grey and gold eyes. The combination was a lovely one.
"Oh," she said finally after a long pause. "I guess we do. It's called heterochromia iridium, by the way. Not a lot of people have it."

"I know what it's called, you're just the first person I've ever met to also have it," Gabriel chuckled as he spoke, "By the way, I'm Gabriel. And you are?"
Gabriel stood from his new desk and stuck the pen he brought into his pockets, raising a grey eyebrow at the girl's sable teeth.
"You're also definitely the first person I've ever seen with black teeth."

Griffin reached over and grabbed a tray, pulling his schedule out of his pocket. If he was fast, he could unpack in his dorm and get to know some of his classmates afterwards. Hesitating, his eyes skipped over the tacos. "Caesar salad. Mm." He selected and paid for a salad, put back the tray, and walked back up to his dorm, swiftly unlocking it. He dumped his supplies on the desk, arranged his clothes in the closet, and placed his blankets on the bed. He plugged in his phone to charge and walked out, locking the door. He sauntered back to the cafeteria, sitting at the nearest table.
Veata grabbed a Taco and sat herself down at a table, after eating it within two minutes she made her way to the library and seated herself at the back near one of the computers where she finished her book. Sighing as she flipped another page, Veata wondered if life was always this depressing.
Camille yanked her shoulder bag up from her desk chair as Gabriel spoke. He actually didn't make her want to vomit, which was hard to do.
"Hey, Gabriel," she greeted him evenly. "I'm gonna call you Gabe because I suck with names and that's shorter. I'm Camille."
She chuckled at the mention of the color of her teeth. As she did so, she grinned, exposing more of the blackened enamel. She was quite pleased with herself.
"I kinda got bored during class," she explained. "I've broken pens lots of times. The key is to not swallow the stuff. I don't want to be responsible for it if you do."

Seraphina bumbled along, being very choosy about what to eat. She spotted the last brownie, and some blond girl reaching for it. Sera's eyes squinted, frowning. Something had to be done about this.
"KYAAH!" Seraphina defended the brownie with a karate chop and seized it, placing it on her tray. The resulted in odd looks.
Apparently the brownie had to be settled with. They obviously didn't have brookies here, which made the tips of her hair flare for a second. She stood on her tiptoes and glanced over the crowd, spotting an empty table. She snuck up to it and sat down, putting her tray down as well. Seraphina looked at her dismal pizza, already cold to the touch. She stuck her finger under it and increased her temperature, making it sizzle a bit.
That was one reason she liked to sit alone.

Gabriel chuckled at the ink-soaked grin, but was irritated by the nickname. Gabriel hated the nickname Gabe, but he was going to be polite when he told Camille.
"If you're to give me a nickname, please make it Val. It's short for my last name, and shorter than Gabe," Gabriel gave her a small smile, his own teeth were a clean ivory.
"Well, let's go get some lunch, huh?" Gabriel turned and began heading out of the classroom, but as he did so he was stopped by an office aide. He read the slip and grinned widely before thanking her for delivering the note.
"You coming along?" Gabriel asked Camille.

Camille shrugged. "Fine, then. Val it is. You can call me..."
She paused, realizing that she had never had a nickname before. In fact, she had never gotten close enough to anyone to warrant a nickname.
"...whatever makes you happy. I don't go by anything except Camille, really."
She followed Gabriel out of the classroom toward the cafeteria. She walked behind him as she wondered how to proceed. Were they having a conversation, or was he just bored enough to bother her? When would he cut out?
"So... uh... where are you from?" she grumbled.

The library was disturbed as a troupe of boys came inside, there was a smallish girl who was reading a book in the seated area and they came and plonked themselves down next to her, the grins on their faces easy to see.
bullys Veata thought angrily.
The troupe leader snatched the book out of her hands and she let out a smallish cry as her page was lost, she then cowered into her seat before getting up quickly and walking away,
One of the followers stuck his foot out, tripping the small girl over.
Veata rose up out of her seated place, a snarl made it's way out if her mouth,
She waved her hand and felt a small breeze pass by it,
The breeze made it's way towards a bookshelf, rapidly increasing in speed from Veatas emotions.
Books flew out and hit the troupe, mostly in the head.
Veata chuckled and ran over to help up the girl whom was on the floor, She looked around 15 years old but Veata knew she had to be older than that. Right?
She picked up the girls book off the floor and flipped to the page where she had lost her grip, it was easy to see as the book was slightly bent.
The girl didn't seem to mind and ran out of the library leaving a very angry librarian, a very annoyed troupe, and a very happy Veata behind.

Griffin was soon jostled from his table by a large group of jocks. Not wanting to get into a brawl, he picked up his food and moved along quickly. The only free table now was one where a girl was sitting alone, some sizzling pizza on her tray. Griffin sat down across from her.
"Sorry, there aren't any tables left," he said. "My name's Griffin, by the way. Yours?"

"Camille it is then," Gabriel said with a friendly tone.
"As for where I'm from, just a tiny town in the middle of absolutely nowhere. My parents signed me up for scholarships online, and I received a full ride and then some to this school. So, here I am. What about you?" Gabriel's eyes looked at Camille's as his masculine voice quietly resonated through the hall. The pair finally reached the cafeteria and stepped into line.
The scent that emanated from so many people at this school emanated from Camille as well, though hers was accompanied with a scent similar to that of roses. Gabriel was beginning to wonder if all the students just wore perfume from the same company. Obviously, he has no idea of what he apparently is, or what kind of school Westerfield really is.

"Seraphina Evans." She grumbled, and stopped heating her pizza up. Sera was having a mood-swing, as someone had slipped her a rude note about her hair, there was no brookies, and someone interrupted her 'microwaving'.
Seraphina glanced at her watch, and sighed. Maybe a quick walk in the courtyard would help.
She munched on her pizza for a while, then threw away about 1/3 of the piece away. "I'm off, see you later." Sera said to the 'Griffin' boy. She slung her satchel across her shoulder and walked off to the hallways.
Unfortunately, she got lost again. Cursing her sense of direction, Seraphina wandered around until she found the open doorway to the courtyard. She rolled onto the grass, spreading her arms out against the small blades. Sera sat up and opened her book, flipping to the picture of the phoenix. She stared at it for a while, then burned most of the paper except for the phoenix. This she folded into an airplane and set on fire. She blew it away, a breeze picking up the flaming piece of paper and ash rained down when it had burned up.
Sera glanced down and started reading, setting a timer for 10 minutes, since the next class was coming up.

Camille entered the cafeteria cautiously. She was not fond of crowds, so the cafeteria and auditorium were always her least favorite locations, regardless of the school. She eyed the culinary selection as she listened to Gabriel's story.
"Interesting," she mused, partially listening. "I'm from the city. My parents sent me here because I'm a 'problem child'. They wanted to send me to a school that would fix me up. Money wasn't really a problem since those idiots are loaded."
She rolled her eyes as she thought about her parents. What would they think of her attending a non-magical school? Would they be happy to see her consorting with humans with absolutely no magic in them? Would they be relieved to see their little necromancer would become humanized?
No matter how "normal" this place was, Camille vowed then and there, in the middle of the crowded cafeteria, never to forget who she was.

"Well, as far as I know I'm actually an orphan. My parents never told me themselves, but they both have blue eyes and blonde hair, so either I'm an orphan or my mom's a rather promiscuous woman." Gabriel responded before grabbing a few slices of pizza and waited for Camille before heading for Griffin's table, which was still the only open table.
"May we sit?" He asked the blond-haired boy he recognized from the Lobby.

Meanwhile in the toilets Veata was scolding herself for using her powers put in the open. She stared into the mirror angrily, her own reflection looking right back at her. She could have been caught or anything... She looked down sadly as a group of girls came in, all high heels and lipstick.
Veata walked out quickly knowing that most girls were bitches an would try to spark off and argument anywhere, wether it was what you looked like how you talked or what you wore. Veata wasn't in the mood.
She made her way back to the lobby and headed to the front desk. She might have enough time to find out which dorm she was in...
The lady at reception handed her a sheet
" there you go! Room 4A, if you don't like it, or you want to change rooms then come back and I'll see If I can get a different room for you, there are a few more spaces left" she looked at a computer screen before turnin back to Veata" okay? "
Veata smiled and nodded as she was handed her keys for the room.
She made we way over to the dorms quickly, and took out her key opening the door. To her dissapointment there was no window and she sighed dramatically " WHY CRUEL WOORLD DO YOU HATE ME SO!?" She then turned around agai to see she had been facing the wrong way, the bed was right next to the window with a large wardrobe next to it, another bed was at the other side, a bright orange blanket covered the bed.
Veata slumped onto the bed with a sigh before She remembered she had forgotten to close the door, she got up, locked it and sat back down again.and stared at the other bed , If she had a roommate patience would be needed... And lots of it...

Seraphina sighed, off in her own daydream. She glanced down at her manga, wondering what it'd be like to live in a world like that. Lookin at her watch, she closed the comic and stood up, sticking it in her satchel. She'd probably have enough time to brush her teeth. (still has that habit ever since she got her braces off)
Wandering the halls again, she looked for the girl's restrooms. Sera slipped through the doors and pulled out her travel toothbrush. She stopped at the sink and squeezed out the toothpaste. Spotting some movement in the corner of her eye, she glanced down at the bottom of the stalls and found several pairs of heels. Dammit. Someone's gonna burn today, if they're what she thinks they are.
Sera finishing scrubbing at her teeth and rinsed. She shoved her toothbrush into her satchel pocket and got ready to leave.
#%@$!? $&@%!!!!!
Sera burst out of the bathroom before the 'elite' girls did, laughing aloud.
The girls were screaming because their hair was on fire. Sera thought it was hilarious, but she hoped she didn't get caught. She sprinted off to her dorm and unlocked it, barging inside after she was done.
Sera brushed her hair down, trying to look like nothing happened, but she couldn't get that mischievous spark in her chocolate eyes. She walked to her next class, almost being late to it.
