I've turned to you guys in the past to help with my cats when they were flea infested after I lost my job, and received a tremendous amount of support and love! It's part of the reason I love this community so very very much.

I'm struggling with my disability again and I won't have anything on my name for at least 6 weeks until the city decides whether I'm eligible or not. In the meantime, my cat's medical problem is worsening and all I can do is watch helplessly. She has a hot spot that just won't heal because she can't leave it alone.

What Are Hot Spots? wrote:
According to V.E.T. Care Hospital, a hot spot is the common term for an infected sore. These sores usually appear when a cat has been biting and scratching at a particular spot that irritates him. If the skin is accidentally broken at some point, bacteria has the opportunity to invade the spot and cause an infection. The area usually becomes quite red and warm, hence the name "hot spot". As the infection progresses, the spot loses hair, begins to weep pus and eventually crusts over. The area remains irritated and itchy, and this results in even more scratching and biting that winds up making the sore even bigger.

Her hot spot resulted from a scratch from rough play time, and it's getting worse every day. She's wearing a cone to stop her from getting to it, but she figured out that she can rub the edge of it against her wounds to scratch. The vet bills are getting pretty steep in their estimates and I don't know where to take the money from currently. She's at risk of infection.

I started a crowdfunder to help cover the costs of the treatments. If you can't donate, will you please consider sharing the link to Facebook, Twitter or any other site? That will help tremendously too!
