"Uh, no need to thank us, it was our pleasure, really." Ritsuka replied as he shook Karin's hand. "I'm Ritsuka, and this here's Moguri."

"Pleased to meet you, kupo." Moguri added with a little bow.

"We came here from Mysterious Tower, uh, I guess you could call it another world, I was never entirely sure about it myself. Anyway, as you could probably tell, I'm a Keyblade Wielder, our master, Yen Sid, said that he felt a sort of... "dark force" among the worlds, so he sent us to investigate.

"Good thing we did to, or else this world would've been Heartless chow for sure, kupo."

"I wouldn't say that, but it definitely would have a lot less survivors." Ritsuka corrected his friend. It was then that he noticed the townsfolk that were spared from the invasion, wallowing in despair and sadness, which made Ritsuka's heart sink. "I just wish we could've gotten here sooner... What about you, are you ok?"

"Karin and Ritsuka? So they are the ones who are causing trouble." Meanwhile in the town the heartless threat was gone and cleared. However the clearing skies showed the keyhole. It made it'self more prominent glowing down. "Once he seals it what will he do?"

"Eh? Me? Oh I'm fine! Nothing too serious. We beat that monster pretty quick! Your great with your keyblade," she smiled at him and turned to Yuffie.
"This is Yuffie, she's my best friend. We came from another world that was swallowed by heartless. We've been here for about four years. That's Cid," she said, pointing back to the tall man with the toothpick in his mouth.
"He helped us off our world. He builds gummi ships and repairs them. Something I could never do.." She shrugged.
"Do you suppose we should take care of that?" She asked, pointing to the keyhole in the sky.

"Huh, what do you..." Ritsuka began before he looked up to see the floating Keyhole. "A Keyhole?"

"Whoa, hold on, this world has two Keyholes, kupo?" Moguri inquired, confused.

"No, it should only have the one, at least that's what Leon said." Yuffie replied, equally curious. The gears in Ritsuka's head began turning, he looked at his Keyblade and then back up to the Keyhole.

"I wonder..." He mumbled in thought. He then brought his Keyblade to the sky, a light gathering at the tip until it was unleashed into the floating Keyhole. There was a clicking sound and the Keyhole glowed with a bright blinding light before disappearing. "I don't think that was an actual Keyhole, the one that's supposed to lead to the world's heart is still sealed shut, we passed it on the way here. I remember Yen Sid once telling us about how sometimes, the worlds open pathways between themselves, allowing travel between them without breaking the walls that separate them from other worlds. We saved this world, and this pathway appeared to us, so does that mean... other worlds are in danger?" The thought was very troubling, for all present, there a was a silence, everyone taking in the theory.

"And I think that's our cue to leave, I think you'll agree that we've done plenty of recon Ritsuka, and if you're right about this pathway thing then we got a pretty big lead on our hands, we should head back to Master Yen Sid now, kupo." The Moogle suggested, confident in their assessment. Ritsuka mulled over the thought, he felt kind of apprehensive about leaving this new pathway unattended, but if this was as big as Ritsuka thought it was, than Master Yen Sid should probably know about it.

"Yeah, maybe we should head back..."

"It seems like he wishes to go home? We can't have that." Raising his hand he brought what looked like a set of pathways between worlds. "Yin Sid's tower is connected to traverse town via this path. Let us seal this." His staff appeared and he swayed it into the 3D shadow model of the pathway and appeared to brake the pathway to the mysterious tower. "Now he will not be able to return to the tower. He will have no choice but to move through some other worlds. But what world next?" He asked himself. In his location he had the capability to manipulate the links between worlds and manipulate worlds with heartless in them.

“Well, thanks again for all your help! I think I’ll go check out the world north of here…maybe send out a warning to the others that the heartless are returning. They could already be in other worlds for all we know. Maybe I’ll see you and your friend on another world?” She shrugged and turned to Cid.

“I’ll need the gummi I took out last time. Did you get her all fixed?” She asked him. Cid nodded.

“I’ll get it ready.” He told her before running back to his shop. Karin turned her attention to Yuffie last.

“Will you stay here for me? I’d like you to communicate with me and let me know if anymore heartless come back. For all we know they could only be targeting Traverse Town. I’ll be fine, I just don’t want anyone in the other worlds to be on their own like we almost were!” She said, noticing the look of worry in Yuffie’s eyes. She still looked like she wanted to protest, but after a minute she sighed.

“Just let me know if you get in trouble alright? I’ll be there before you know it.” She told her, her face serious.
Karin started to laugh and then a loud crack echoed off the sky, causing the ground to quake. What looked like lightening lit the sky to the west momentarily before it subsided, leaving the sky in that area pitch black.

“What was that?!” Karin asked.

"Whatever it was, it can't be good, kupo." Moguri replied a little nervously.

"No kidding, we better get back to Yen Sid and tell him about all this before anything else happens." Ritsuka suggested before summoning his Keyblade and pointing it to the sky. "It was nice meeting you Karin, good luck." He said before shooting a beam of light out of the tip of his weapon, opening up a portal. However, moments after it appeared, the same lightning like energy began sparking from it, eventually overwhelming it and causing it to shatter.

"Whoa, what was that?" Yuffie asked.

"I, I don't know." Ritsuka remarked as he attempted to open the portal again, with the same result. "What the heck, I'm trying to connect the portal strait to the pathway to Yen Sid's tower, but it's just not connecting." He tried it a third time, but it was no use.

"What do you mean it's not connecting, we came here just fine with that very pathway, what happened, kupo?" Moguri said somewhat frantically.

"I don't know, Heartless interference maybe, I can't say, but one thing's for sure, that pathway's not opening." Ritsuka replied, his tone suddenly shifting to a grim one.

"Does that mean..."

"Yeah, we can't get home..." Silence again, Moguri's facial features were limited, but if he would he have an incredibly shocked and horrified look on his face.

"But, but how can that be, are you saying we're just stuck here, oh man, what are we gonna do, kupo!" He exclaimed, floating around in frantic circles.

"Maybe there is another way to get there? Maybe instead of using the pathway from Traverse Town to Mysterious Tower you could use the pathway from a different world to get there? Heck, there are also lots of portals that can knock you around to all sorts of places! I'm just saying, you don't have to be stuck here indefinitely. You could travel with me on my gummi ship! It’s the least I can do since you practically saved me. We can use the navigation system to help you find your way back home,” Karin offered.

“Hey! The ship is all ready! Don’t keep her waiting too long!” Cid shouted back to the group from a window in his shop. Karin gave Cid a little wave and turned back to Ritsuka.

“The choice is yours. You could either stay here with Yuffie and Cid, maybe find a way to communicate with your friend, or you could come with me.”

"Hmm..." Ritsuka took a moment to consider the offer while Moguri eagerly awaited his response. "Well, there's no real point in staying here, the worse seems to be over with. Alright, I'll go with you, you're probably right about being able to use a different pathway from another world to get back to Mysterious Tower, plus if Master Yen Sid's suspicions are in anyway justified, than other worlds are probably in danger as well, if that gateway opening up to us was anything to go by. It's a Keyblade Wielder's duty to protect the worlds, and since I can't go home, I might as well fulfill that duty as best I can."

"Guess that means we'll be traveling together for a while then, thanks for the offer, kupo." Moguri added with a grateful bow.

"So, where's this ship of yours?" Ritsuka asked, putting his hands behind his head. The group was then lead to the back of Cid's shop, where the newly repaired Gummi Ship was parked, ready to go. "Wow, nice wheels!" Ritsuka exclaimed, impressed with the rocket, he had heard of Gummi Ships before, they were made of special material that allowed travel between worlds, and seeing one up close for the first time was something else. He then looked back at his Keyblade Armor and sighed. "Guess this won't be seeing any use for a while, oh well, best we all travel together anyway. Since the world went to the trouble of revealing a new pathway for us, I think we should start there, I'm ready to go when you are."

"They will be heading to La Cite Des Cloches. How fitting. The heartless there and the man Frollo will be perfect for this. He is using the heartless as a sign from god. And he will use their power for his own ambition." He opens the way to that world. "It is so perfect being able to manipulate their travels like this." The pathway to La Cite Des Cloches is now open. The heartless there are hidden and it would appear normal like the world always has for now.

"Alright, let's get going!" Karin told him as she opened the Gummi ship's door and hopped in. It was a little more cramped inside than it looked from outside, yet it would still fit the three of them comfortably.
"Cid if I have any problems i'll count on you to walk me through them," she told him. He nodded in return.
"Our communication should go through just fine. Keep in touch if you need anything. Be careful,kid." He told her, fiddling with the toothpick in his mouth. Karin smiled at him, gave Yuffie a little nod, and hopped into the driver's seat. It had been awhile since she had been behind the wheel, but it all came back to her as she gripped the wheel. She began pushing a series of buttons and flipping switches in a methodical manner. Slowly, the ship began to hum louder and after a moment it began to giver off the ground ever so slightly. The excitement grew in her.
"Have you ever been in one of these?" She asked him, a new light in her eyes.

"Nope, first time." Ritsuka answered as he admired the interior of the ship.

"Same here, when I first left my home world I used a Star Shard, I can't tell you how much of a pain it was to find Yen Sid's Tower." Moguri said, looking back at the moment with an exasperated sigh. The two took their own seats in the cock pit as they elevated higher off the ground. Once they were high enough, they began to turn upwards, flying straight up in the air, gaining speed until a portal appeared before them. They disappeared from the world as they flew through it and ended up in the Lanes Between once again. Once they successfully left the world, Karin activated the navigation system, a map of the worlds and the pathways that connected them appearing on the screen.

"Alright, let's see here..." Ritsuka said as he examined the map. "There, that's the pathway we opened up back in Traverse Town, let's get going." With that Karin flew the ship around to the north side of the world and entered the pathway, flying through it at top speed. They eventually exited the pathway and right before them was the new world, decorated with what seemed to be a cathedral and a city. "So that's the new world huh, alright Karin take us down." The ship was taken down right above the surface of the world, in order to not arouse suspicion, the ship itself stayed in the Lanes Between, the passengers were merely beamed down to the world, the only way being a special, portable warp point (Save Points).

La Cite Des Cloches was the world they entered. The large city was filled with tens of thousands of people. The many citizens buzzed through the streets. The streets ran through making a labyrinth like set up with all of the buildings. The areas of the city had wet stained stoned streets. The city has a off sewerage like smell on the outskirts but inside near the massive cathedral the streets smelt of pies and cakes as the festival of fools was under way. Crowds of people gathered around a large stage with a tent on the end. In this tent was a man and four armored guards. The man sat in a throne like chair. He wore purple cloths that showed he had some power. His name was Claude Frollo. He was the Judge of the city and was basically the most powerful man around. The stage in front of him had a women dancing. She wore cloths common to gypsies. The judge watched this with great interest. He smirked a deep dark grin.

The woman's dance came to an end, and a man in purple, yellow, and blue clothing took the stage. He wore a purple hat with a yellow feather poking out the end, and a purple mask hid his face.

"Here it is! The moment you've been waiting for! Here it is! You know exactly what's in store! Now the time we laugh until our sides get sore. Now's the time we crown the king of fools!!" The joker sang.
Karin starred perplexed at the stage as the joker continued to sing, before she looked down at her clothes. Changed from her normal leather jacket she wore a red shawl made of a poor cloth and a white loose shirt. long pants hung from her, frayed out at the ends. She still wore boots, though they now appeared worn and dirty from the dusty ground. She realized after a moment that she was looking out from behind a mask. After taking it off she saw it had the large beak that made her look like a yellow bird. She chuckled briefly and put it back over her face.

"We're in one strange place..." She whispered to Ritsuka, gazing at the stage where others in masks lined up. At the front of the line stood a man who looked... Anything other than normal. He had shaggy red hair and a face that looked distorted. Karin could tell from far away this was no mask.
He had one eye that seemed larger than the other and big teeth. His chin was long and curved, making his face look broken. Giant ears stuck out from the sides of his face, uselessly covered by his hair. Karin shuttered momentarily, and then her heart went out to him. The man in the stage looked absolutely horrified to be up there as he starred at the ever-growing crowd. One by one the other contesters were shoved off the stage, clearly not "foolish" enough for the crowd. The gypsy made her way over the the boy and tried to remove his "mask" when she realized, horrified, that it was his face.
"That's no mask.." A man from the crowd said
"It's his face!" A woman said, disgusted.
"He's hideous!"
"It's the bell ringer from Notre Dame!" The crowd sounded absolutely horrified as they stepped back, disgusted. The joker seemed taken aback before he quickly regained himself.

"Ladies and gentleman don't panic! We asked for the ugliest face in Paris! And here he is! Quasimodo! The hunchback of Notre Dame!" The joker cried, and the crowd erupted in applause.

"What are they trying to prove? Why are they doing this..." Karin whispered, taking her eyes off the crowd as the paraded the man around.

"Who knows, every world has its own customs I guess." Ritsuka replied, surveying his new surroundings. The Hunchbacked man was placed on a throne and then carried to a platform, the crowd cheering in delight, and the man seemed to enjoy the treatment as well, being dressed with a crown and fancy royal like cape. Ritsuka couldn't help but smile at the display, this world seemed so light hearted, and this festivity reminded him so much of a festival he once went to when he was a child, it warmed his heart.

"I like it, it's nice that a guy with a mug like that can get some proper appreciation, kupo." Moguri said, though it seemed more like a back handed compliment.

"Says the guy whose head is bigger than his body." Ritsuka shot back sarcastically.

"Shut up, I'll have you know I'm quite good looking in the Moogle community, kupo." The little creature rebuked, gaining a chuckle from Ritsuka and Karin, only adding to the fun atmosphere of the festival. They then refocused on the Hunchback, flowers and confetti being thrown at him in praise, however, the celebration soon came to an abrupt end, when a rotten tomato was thrown from the crowd and hit Quasimodo right in the face. The crowd was silenced in shock, as were the three other worlders, it was revealed that a guard had thrown the fruit, others following suit as they hurled insults at the poor man. He tried to leave the "stage", but slipped on one of the fruits, causing the whole crowd to roar in laughter. Quasimodo attempted to leave once again, but...

"Where are you going Hunchback, the fun's just beginning." a villager said as he threw a rope and caught Quasimodo by the throat. More ropes where thrown as he tried desperately to break free, but he was soon overwhelmed and tied to the stage and spun on a wheel. By this point, all of the villagers began throwing fruit at him, laughing at his misery.

"What the heck is wrong with these people, come one, we gotta help." Ritsuka said as he was about to cut his way through the crowd.

"Ritsuka, no!" Moguri said as he pulled on his collar to stop him. "Remember what Yen Sid said, we're not allowed to interfere in the affairs of other worlds, kupo."

"So what, we're supposed to just stand here and do nothing?"

"Look, I don't like it anymore than you do, but unless it can be solved by smacking something with a Keyblade, we can't interfere, none of us can, kupo." Moguri asserted, referring to Karin as well. Ritsuka was torn, he fists clenched as he listened to the laughter of the villagers, he knew they had to protect the world order, but at what cost. He was about five seconds from damning the rules and going up there to save him, when suddenly the crowed went silent. The group looked up and saw the woman that was dancing on the stage before approaching the poor man, using part of her own clothing to clean him up, whispering something that couldn't be heard by the masses.

Frollo stands up and points at them. "Gypsie get away from him." "No you treat this poor man the same way you treat my people." She yells back clearly showing hatred for Frollo. "I demand you sit down you gypsie!" Frollo yells. "Justice!" She yells raising her arm. Frollo signals the guards to get ready to arrest her. The guards are armed with armor and swords. The guards however would be seen different from human. As they raise their heads you could see their eyes where yellow. The approach Esmeralda and the details of their bodies are revealed. Such as the shadowy mist emerging from the cracks in their armor. These heartless managed to manipulate themselves making them look human. The darkness inside Frollo's heart led him to being able to control the heartless and make them resemble his actual guards. The six guards surround the woman and are ready to attack.

“Heartless!” Karin hissed under her breath as she grabbed Ristuka’s sleeve and pointed to the guards.

“That’s a good enough excuse for me to intervene!” She told Moguri as she began darting her way through the crowd. She withdrew her kantana from her pocket, as it was in its condensed form, and whipped it out to full length. Gasps rang out from the crowd and they all parted the path for Karin. The heartless guards had their weapons raised over their heads and were about to attack the woman when Karin had managed to tumble onto the stage.

“That’s enough!” Karin told them, jabbing her kantana is one of the guard’s face before jerking it back into another’s stomach. Murmurs spread through the large crowd as Karin defended the gypsy woman and the disfigured man. The judge’s hand clenched in a fist.

“You two, get out of here! I’ll handle these guys.” Karin told them, smacking another guard’s hand as he tried to strike the woman’s unprotected side.

“Who are you?” The woman asked, helping the man called Quasimodo to his feet.

“Just go!” Karin told her. Knocking another heartless in the chest, causing it to disparate. The gypsy took Quasimodo’s arm, who gazed at Karin in wonder, and the two fled the scene. Karin faced the other five heartless and electricity engulfed her kantana.
“Bring it on!”

"Come on Moguri, duty calls." Ritsuka said as he summoned his Keyblade and ran after Karin. Moguri let out a small sigh and summoned his sword, following suit. As Karin took care of the Heartless Guards, Ritsuka took mind of the man and woman that were fleeing the scene, they attempted to leave the square, but more Heartless Guards blocked their path, weapons raised. The two stopped in their tracks, unsure of what to do, but when one of the Guards lunged at them, Quasimodo took the initiative and shielded Esmeralda, bracing himself for the pain of death. However, it never came as Ritsuka sliced the Heartless in half just in time. Before the others could react, Moguri cast a "Blizzard" spell, freezing the other two guards allowing Ritsuka to take them out with a Spark Dive.

"You two ok, kupo?" Moguri asked them.

"Uh, y-yes, thank you both." Quasimodo nervously thanks. Before they could respond, more Heartless appeared, surrounding them, this time Soldiers on Heartless Horses.

"Looks like we won't be leaving the Square." Ritsuka said as he lowered into a battle stance. He looked around before his eyes landed on the Notre Dame. "Karin, guide these guys to the cathedral, I'll deal with the Heartless!" He called to his companion before unleashing a Strike Raid on one of the Heartless, opening a path for the two. "Go, hurry!" And so they did, making a mad dash for the cathedral. Ritsuka refocused on the Heartless as they charged at him. He dodged one of them before blocking another, causing it to stagger, but the third hit his mark, causing him to stagger back. "Thunder!" He shouted as he regained his footing and unleashed three bolts of lighting on the Guards, stunning them. he then went in for a Blitz attack, killing each one with one slash each. Once they were gone, more came in their place, this time they didn't even try to fit in, they still looked like soldiers but their armor was dark and monstrous, the Heartless Emblem as clear as day on their chests. "Finally decided to get serious huh? Bring it."

Frollo looked around annoyed with the happenings. "Witchcraft." He said backing up and heading for his horse. Several heartless in human guard form came and defended Frollo. As the crowds screamed and scattered trying to avoid the fighting many where knocked down and in pain as the square was emptied. Frollo looked around and saw the heartless appearing. There where only a few but they where very powerful. "Kill these gypsie witches." Frollo ordered the heartless as they fought. Quasimodo and Esmeralda fled and got into notre dam. The priest of the cathedral opens the door to view the chaos. He looked over to see Frollo but with the door open it gives you the chance to enter. Frollo saw this and as the heartless begin pushing you back. These heavily armored heartless proved durable and powerful enough to hold you off. Frollo only watches the destruction furious with what has happened.
