"Ritsuka! We're getting out-numbered! Let's regroup and figure out a strategy!" She yelled to him after driving her kantana though a heartless, killing it. She glared over at Frollo, knowing he had to be the one controlling the heartless. Karin took out two more armored guards before she ushered the gypsy, who looked like she wanted to fight, back inside the church.
"Finish them off Ristuka!" She called to him, defending the entrance of the church.
"Finish them off Ristuka!" She called to him, defending the entrance of the church.
"Don't have to tell me twice!" Ritsuka replied as he sliced a Heartless in half. "Magnet!" He cried as he pointed his Keyblade to the sky, a ball of energy emerging from the tip and floating in the air above him. All the nearby Heartless were sucked in by the energy, like pieces of metal to a magnet, making them easy targets for him and Moguri, they were sitting ducks. They hacked and slashed at them, killing almost the whole mob in one go, but the spell eventually wore off, allowing two Heartless back on their feet. They tried to flee, realizing their fates were sealed.
"Oh no you don't, kupo." Moguri said brandished his sword. "Gravity!" The two Heartless fell to the ground, trapped by their own weight, Ritsuka destroy's the first one with a Sliding Dash, and the last one with a Quick Blitz, finishing off the mob. Ritsuka examined the now empty square, the villagers seemed to have been scared off, and the Heartless had stopped appearing.
"Come on Moguri, let's meet back up with Karin before more show up." He suggested, to which Moguri gave an agreeing nod. The two ran up to Notre Dame, the front door slightly ajar; they slipped in and closed the door behind them, if anything just for the extra sense of security. Ritsuka was awestruck by the inside of the cathedral, the architecture was gorgeous, statues and stain glass windows portraying saints, priests, and even the big man himself adorned the walls and halls of the church. His admiration with halted once he finally spotted Karin and the other two. "Hey," he called to them before he ran up to join them. "Is everyone ok?"

Frollo left on his horse to his home. He entered a large hall and began to send heartless all over the city. The heartless where soldiers and the armored guard ones local to the area. There where too many for the new comers to deal with. These heartless where also stronger. The darkness in Frollo's heart made them more powerful. The rest of the day went by and the people where in their homes in fear. Frollo was beginning to insert a more dictatorship rule on them. "These new comers. These gypsie witches will burn like the rest of the gypsies. But that woman. The dancer. She was a fine woman." He spoke to himself and walked into a large hall.
(Performs hellfire)
After Frollo goes over his dark repression of his desire for Esmeralda he went to bed for the night. The next day he spoke to Captain Phoebus. He began to search for a place known as the court of miracles. This was the gypsie hideout in the city. If Frollo found it he would be able to purge the gypsies from the city once and for all.

The hall of the cathedral was immaculate as to be expected, but that is not where the four of them stayed. Quadimodo led the group up the higher levels of the cathedral, up where all the bells hung. At first Quadimodo seemed nervous to have so many guests in an area he called "Home", but after the gypsy named Esmerelda showed interest in his bells he lit up. He even had names for all of the bells, as if they were part of the family.
"And this one is named Big Marie," He said, gazing at the largest bell. Karin shot Ritsuka a sideward glance before turning back to face Quasimodo.
"Well, they are fascinating!" Karin smiled at Quasimodo.
"And, And what is your name?" Quasimodo asked Karin, also looking eagerly at Ritsuka.
"My name is Karin. This is Ritsuka and Moguri," She replied, gesturing to them all.
"Well Ritsuka, Moguri, Karin.. I thank you humbly for helping Esmerelda and I out," Quasimodo said, bowing deeply to the group. Uncomfortable Karin shifted in her spot.
"Really, there's no need to thank us. Anyone would have done it!"
"Those guards did not seem right though... something about them looked different," Quasimodo said, taking his abnormal chin in thought. Karin glanced at Ristuka again. Should they tell them?

"...Those men, what you saw was the result of the evil in their hearts taking over." Ritsuka began, trying to explain the concept in terms they would understand. "An evil power so strong, that it has swallowed their hearts whole, turning them into... monsters."
"You mean more than they already were?" Esmeralda said with her hands on her hips. "Can't say I'm surprised, I wouldn't expect anything less from Frollo's men."
"Frollo, was he that old guy on the throne with the funny looking hat, kupo?" Moguri inquired, faintly remembering the man in question.
"That's the man, Judge Claude Frollo." Esmeralda elaborated. "He rules this city with an iron fist, hunting down and mistreating my people for decades, he's nothing more than a cruel dictator."
"Cruel, oh no, y-you've got it all wrong." Quasimodo interjected, defending his master. "He saved my life, he took me in when no one else would... I am monster you know." He said that last part with shame and sadness in his voice.
"Is that what Frollo told you?" Ritsuka asked, having a pretty good idea what was going on.
"Look at me." Was all Quasi replied with, giving them all a clear look at his face before covering it up in shame.
"...Well, sure, you maybe a bit different, but I know for a fact that you're not a monster Quasimodo." Ritsuka replied with conviction, gaining a questioning look from the hunchback. "Remember back at the square, when the guards stopped you from escaping, you risked your life to protect Esmeralda without even a second thought, does that sound like something a monster would do?" Quasimodo contemplated that fact, but was brought out of his thoughts when Esmeralda placed a hand on his shoulder and flashed him a kind smile.
"He's right you know, maybe Frollo is wrong about both of us." She suggested. Quasimodo couldn't help but smile, which passed on to Ritsuka as well. The group then moved to the balcony to watch the sun set, which allowed them to catch sight of the Heartless guarding the entrances of the cathedral.
"Damn, it's going to be difficult to get out with all those guards." Esmeralda said.
"You don't have to leave you know." Quasimodo responded. "You can stay here forever, you have sanctuary."
"But not freedom." Esmeralda pointed out. "Gypsies don't do well inside stone walls." Quasimodo thought for a moment, a bit of a solemn look on his face.
"You helped me, so I will help you." Quasimodo stated.
"How, there's to many, there's no way we're walking out the front door that's for sure, kupo." Moguri said, and he was right, even with their weapons, getting Esmeralda out safely would be tough.
"We won't use a door." Quasi said as he leaped onto the railing.
"Wait, you don't mean you're going to climb down, do you?" Ritsuka inquired.
"Sure, I do it all the time, having another along won't be a problem." Quasi assured. He turned to Esmeralda for approval, which she gave with a nod. With that he scooped her up in his arms and began climbing down the cathedral with great ease. Ritsuka was impressed to say the least.
"I think they're gonna be ok." He mused. he then turned to his friends. "We better get going to, no telling what the Heartless will do once they realize Esmeralda isn't here any more."

Captain Phoebus had set up a perimeter around the city. The captain was still human despite the heartless he was working with. His heart was pure and he had distrust for Frollo. "Keep an eye out for the gypsie woman." He said a shade of sadness and distrust in his voice. He covered this up with a strong tone he had to keep as a captain. He stood outside of notre dam and looked and walked around on patrol by himself. Frollo however was doing his own search. After learning of the gypsies escape by some spies he had inside the cathedral he was enraged. He knew she was not in the cathedral but had no idea how she escaped. He was having all buildings searched and was doing this with increased brutality. Any who was suspected of harboring gypsies were arrested.
"What do you suspect we do? Are you thinking we should climb done too and do some snooping around?" Karin looked over the edge. She wasn't afraid of heights, but she wasn't fully convinced she could scale a structure like this. She watched as even Quasi slipped a couple times, and it made her stomach churn.
"Or do you think we should be clearing a path through the front entrance?"
"Or do you think we should be clearing a path through the front entrance?"
"How about none of the above." Ritsuka answered as he summoned his Keyblade. He threw it into the air and it transformed into its glider form, lowering down next to the railing allowing Ritsuka to hop on. "Hop on, Moguri, you think you can cast Vanish on us?"
"I can try, but it won't hold up very long with so many people, kupo." the Moogle said.
"It doesn't have to, it just has to cover up us leaving." Ritsuka explained. With that said the three hopped onto the vehicle and rocketed away from the cathedral, Moguri tasting a Vanish spell to make them invisible to the Heartless below. However, just as Moguri said the spell didn't last very long and so they lowered into an alleyway as they reappeared, hiding from the patrolling Heartless. "Well, at least we got out. Come on, let's see what we can do about all these Heartless." He said as he led them deeper into the city. For the rest of the night they tried their best to weed down the Heartless population, however they steered clear of the Guard Heartless, in order to hid from Frollo. However, once morning came, the Heartless as a whole began focusing on searching the buildings of the city, even the more ferrel Heartless, which just proved Frollo's growing control of them, and the darkening of his heart.
"Man, this Frollo guy has really gone off the deep end, kupo!" Moguri said.
"What do you expect from a guy that can control the Heartless this well." Ritsuka pointed out. They eventually found themselves at the very outskirts of the city, where a crowd of commoners were gathered around a single house, surrounded by Guard Heartless and Frollo's horse parked outside. "What's going on here?"

"What's going on here?"
Frollo stood in front of the house holding a scroll. "You have been accused of the crime of harboring gypsies. How do you find yourselves?" Frollo asked a family. It had two parents a man in his late forties and and women in her mid thirties. There was also a scared girl and the woman held a baby. "We plead not guilty sir. We have always been open to those in need and we never turn away people who need it." The man speaks keeping his family behind him. "Then you will have no problem with a investigation. Men examine the house. Search everywhere." Frollo orders his soldiers. The heartless move into the house and begin to turn the house upside down. They wreck the place in a attempt to find anything. Tables where flipped, beds where flipped and floors torn up. Going into the below ground cellar they look around and find some small barrels of food and cloth. A heartless soldiers comes out holding a small piece of cloth. Frollo takes this and examines it. "Gypsie cloth? This came from the cloths of a gypsie. So why do you have this?" He gets a dark grin. "Please my lord we had no idea. We do not have anything to be a threat to you. We only help people." The man starts to beg. " I shall think about your punishment. Now leave my sight." Frollo orders the family. The man cowers back into his house with his family. The heartless all left Frollo puts a plank of wood over the door sealing it. "Captain Phoebus burn the house." Frollo hands him a torch held by one of the horse bound heartless. "What!? Sir they are innocent people. They have done nothing wrong." "Are you listening to me captain? Or are you disobeying a direct order?" Frollo says with a angry tone. "Sir I did not come here to kill civilians." He says throwing the torch into the river. Frollo scowls and grabs a torch off his other soldier. "Then it is treason." He says throwing the torch into the house window. Because of the stray and dried wood structure the house went up quickly the people inside. Screaming was heard as the heat got intense and close. Phoebus looked at Frollo with complete hatred and shock by his actions. He went to run into the house but the heartless got in the way and stopped him. "Kill the traitor." Frollo ordered and a horse riding heartless aimed a crossbow and shot the captain. The bolt pierced his upper right shoulder and blew him into the river. He began to be washed away. Everyone was in shock as Frollo rode off. He and his guards left. He had captured over two hundred people and was closing in on the hall of miracles. By nightfall he would have the hall and all the gypsies inside. With Frollo and his men gone the people in the house screamed and coughed as they breathed in the smoke. This was a public example of Frollo's cruelty with a public execution basically.
“He is mindlessly killing innocent people!” Karin said in shock. She ran through the growing crowd in front of the now blazing farm house and ripped off the board that barred the family inside. Then, she jammed her shoulder into the door causing it to fly off its hinges. The family lay inside, huddle together on the floor trying to breathe through the dense smoke. The father had his arms around his family protectively and the mother was sobbing.
“Come on! I’m going to get you out of here!” She called to the family, stepping inside the hot, smoke-filled house. Careful to maneuver around the broken furniture that was now ablaze she reached the family in the middle of the room. She extended her hand to the father and he took it firmly as she pulled him to his feet. Karin’s eyes stung from the smoke, but as she squinted her eyes she found the front door.
“Follow me.” She told them, holding the father’s hand tightly as she wound her away through the blazing home. She didn’t have much time to look around, but she noticed pictures, tables, and books all disintegrating before their eyes. Her heart dropped slightly.
It took only moments, which had felt much longer to Karin, before the family emerged from the burning home. With only minor singes and soot faces, the family was safe. Coughing and sputtering they collapsed together on the ground outside, breathing fresh air once again. Once she was sure the family she scanned the crowd for Ritsuka.
“Where’s the captain?!” She called.

Ritsuka was appalled at the scene, he figured that Frollo had a dark heart, but this was ridiculous, it's a wonder how he hadn't lost his heart to the darkness yet. As Karin dashed towards the house to save the family, he turned his attention to the river.
"Come on Moguri, let's go help that captain." He said as he and Moguri rushed to the noble man's rescue. They slid down the hill to the river's shore and dove right in. It was dark and difficult to see, but after feeling around for a moment they found Phoebus, unconscious and bleeding from his wound. It wasn't until they brought him back to the surface that they saw just how bad of a condition he was in.
"Oh man, this looks bad, kupo." Moguri said as he looked at the wound. Ritsuka carried him to the shore when he heard something.
"Ritsuka!" Esmeralda called out as she made her way over to them.
"Esmeralda, you're ok." Ritsuka said with relief.
"It's not me that you should be worrying about right now it seems." She said as she examined the soldier. with both concern and interest. "I can't believe there was actually a soldier with a kind heart among Frollo's men."
"Yeah, and he sure as heck didn't deserve this." Ritsuka replied. "Come on, we need to get him somewhere safe." Esmeralda helped Ritsuka carry Phoebus back to the top of the hill when suddenly a hoard of Heartless appeared. Ritsuka noticed that they were different from the one's he had seen so far, they were shaped like gargoyles and jesters, seeing them dance around reminded him of the Feast of Fools. They were Emblem Heartless, created from the Hearts of this worlds residence, probably the result of Frollo's rampage. Ritsuka scowled at them as he and Moguri summoned their weapons, prepared to defend the wounded man. It was then that Karin finally spotted them and vice versa. "Karin, help Esmeralda carry the captain, I'll cover you." Ritsuka called to her as he began attacking the Heartless. The Jesters were quick and agile, moving around as if they were dancing merrily, only to catch him when he was off guard. The Gargoyles were more heavy hitters, they're stone like skin making their strikes powerful but slow. Ritsuka fought off the Heartless until they finally made it back to Notre Dame, they made sure nobody was around and entered the cathedral, climbing up to the bell tower where they knew Phoebus would be safe.

Inside the cathedral Phoebus was layed down as Esmeralda attended his wounds. Quasimodo was nearby as the two went in for a kiss. His heart broken he turned away and began to wander off. Meanwhile Frollo had realized how Esmeralda escaped the cathedral in the first place. He was angered as his carriage stopped outside Notre Dam. He got out and walked up to the large doors. Djali made a warning like sound to signal Frollo's arrival. "Oh no Frollo. Quick you must leave. Head out the south tower." Quasimodo says in a panic as the points to the tower. "Ritsuka and Karin you too." He looks at the two pleading.
"Are you going to be alright here? Maybe you should come with us!" Karin said, after draping Pheobus's arm over her shoulder. Quasimodo vigorously shook his head.
"Master would never harm me. You guys on the other hand...just go!" He implored, shoving them closer to the exit.
"You let us know then if he starts to act...strange. He may not be the same man you used to know." She starred hard at Quasimodo before turning and lugging Pheobus through the exit, followed by Esmeralda and Ritsuka. Together they clamored down the long spiral staircase and slipped out of the cathedral, luckily unnoticed by Frollo's guards. Once outside, Karin looked around the desolate streets.
"Where do we go now? Where can we keep you two safe?" Karin asked Esmeralda. Esmeralda drew her cloak to conceal her face and then she turned from the group.
"I know a place, follow me," With quick, silent footsteps Esmeralda led the group off, down a path only she knew. Taking them down all the right paths, away from the Guards, they ended up at a graveyard. Karin looked around uncomfortably. She didn't like places that brought upon death.
"Uhh.. is this where you were talking about?" Esmeralda laughed and shook her head.
"No, we are only at the entrance," She turned to a grave and began to slide off its covering. Horrified that her plan was to hide in graves, Karin almost stopped her before she noticed that there was no body in the grave. Instead, there was a staircase that lead down to darkness.
"I'll lead the way," Esmeralda said as she began down the staircase. Karin glanced over at Ritsuka and then back down the staircase.
"Err...after you!"

Ritsuka chuckled at her nervousness and obliged. He followed Esmeralda down the stairs, followed by Moguri and THEN Karin. The catacombs were dark and eerie, the only light available was a torch Esmeralda snatched off the wall and lit. She led them down the chambers and just when they were about to turn a corner, Esmeralda held her arm up, a signal to halt.
"Wait," She commanded as she walked up to the wall. He healed the torch up to get a better view and once she confirmed something she pushed on the bricks and a chunk of the wall moved out of the way, revealing a secret path where music and laughter could be heard from. "That corridor is a trap, only outsiders would take that path, come on." The group walked through the hidden path way, a light could be seen at the end that only got brighter the closer they got. Eventually, they reached the end of the passage into the Court of Miracles. The place radiated with joy and wonder, in the same way the Feast of Fools did, the Gypsies had their tents and carts all set up like little houses, practicing their acts and bits as the younger children played in the crowd, it was like a little town within the town.
"Welcome to the Court of Miracles." Esmeralda said as she presented the sanctuary.
"Wow, it's amazing!" Ritsuka said in amazement as he took in his surroundings.
"I'll say, kupo." Moguri agreed.
"This place a sanctuary to my people, and all fugitives as well, you can stay here for as long as you need to." Esmeralda offered.
"Ha ha, you sound like Quasimodo." Ritsuka replied jokingly, but his expression soon became slightly more serious. "Thanks for the offer, but we can't stay here."
"Why not?" Esmeralda inquired.
"I think it goes without saying that Frollo needs to be stopped, and the three of us are the only one's that can do it, otherwise... I don't even want to think about what will happen." Ritsuka explained. Esmeralda seemed confused, but she understood the gravity of the situation.
"I understand, but remember you will always be welcomed here, good luck." She said sincerely.
"Thanks, come on guys, let's head back to the cathedral and check on Quasi and Phoebus." Ritsuka suggested and thus three made their way out of the catacombs.

As the others went to the Court of Miracles Frollo reached Quasimodo. "Wha. What brings you here my master?" He asks afraid but trying the keep his composure. "I have been thinking. About how the gypsie escaped." He moved over to the table with all Quasimodo's models. "Then I realized she showed 'compassion' for you. And you seemed to fall for her 'charm' and magic." Frollo pushed the figures off the table. "You helped her escape!" "I am sorry my master. I didn't mean to offend you." He says cowering looking over at the cloth that hide the captain. Pulling out his dagger Frollo stabbed it into the table. "You cannot expect love and care from a gypsie. The same way your cruel mother left you to die as a baby. Gypsies do not show love." He grabs the Esmeralda figurine. Quasimodo looks down and pants as Frollo brings up his 'evil mother'. His eyes wide and panting as he looks as Frollo uses the Esmeralda figure. "I will soon free you from her spell." "What do you mean master?" "I have located the court of miracles and I will attack it at dawn with a thousand of my soldiers." "Master what are they? They are not people?" Quasimodo asks referring to the heartless. "They are a sign and tool I have been given to finish off exterminating the evil gypsies." He sets the Esmeralda figure on fire and throws it to the ground. "I will shortly have her destroyed and her curse removed from you." He stands up and begins walking off. A dark grin on his face. Quasimodo sits in fear and horror. "I can't let this happen." He mumbles.
Karin had vaguely remembered the path Esmeralda had led them down before. Once or twice the three came in contact with Frollo's guards, but managed to slide away unnoticed. Luckily, the cathedral was big enough to see from a distance, so in the end they managed to get inside safely. Before they did though, they noticed Frollo exiting the cathedral with a wicked smile on his face.
"What was he doing here?" Karin whispered to Ritsuka. He merely shrugged. Fearing he had harmed Quasimodo somehow, Karin quickly led the way to the south tower and began up the steps.
After sneaking back in the group was reunited with Quasimodo, who looked very fearful. When he saw the gang reach the top step he quickly met them.
"H-he's found it! The C-Court of Miracles! He said he's going to use those m-monsters to kill all the gypsies! Esmeralda.." Quasimodo trailed off, looking sadly at a burned figurine of Esmeralda in his hand. Occasionally he bit his lip and twirled the doll between his hands.
"What can we do? W-we can't possibly stop his army.." Quasimodo said quietly, his grip tightening on the figurine.
"Obviously we can't go down without a fight. We have to go warn them," a voice said. The group turned to see Pheobus leaning against the stone wall, clutching his shoulder. It was obvious that he was still wounded, but he was looking much better than before. His wound was wrapped nicely and he had more color in his face. The determined smile that he wore shown that he was ready.
" I think he's right. If we can have you two lead the gypsies to safety, Ritsuka and I can hold off the heartless." Karin told the boys. They both seemed eager to help. Quasimodo's face was finally showing some signs of happiness. Karin quickly healed Pheobus's shoulder and the group set off, back to the Court of Miracles. They didn't notice however, the shadow looming after them.

The group rushed back to the graveyard, destroying any Heartless that spotted them, they couldn't afford to have Frollo catch wind of their plan, little did they know they were playing right into his hands. They eventually made it to the entrance of the catacombs and they made their way back to the secret passage, luckily Karin remembered how to open it and so they frantically ran through the corridor and into the Court of Miracles, the Gypsies blissfuly unaware of their presence at first.
"We made it, kupo." Moguri said, trying to catch his breath.
"Esmeralda, where's Esmeralda?" Quasimodo inquired, a clear look of worry on his face.
"I'm sure she's here, but we'll meet with her later, first we must warn everybody about Frollo." Phoebus stated, which everyone agreed to. "Everybody, listen up!!" Phoebus bellowed, getting everyone's attention. "You have to listen, we don't have much time, Frollo..."
"Hey, I know you, you're the captain of the guard!" One gypsy pointed out.
"Judge Frollo's lap dog!" Another cried. The crowd became hostile, gathering around the group with mean looks on their faces.
"No wait, it's not what it looks like." Ritsuka insisted. "We brought them here, and..."
"Traitors!" a gypsy cried, only strengthening the crowd's hostility.
"Wait!" Esmeralda said as she pushed her way through the crowd. "They aren't our enemies, their our friends, please listen to them, they are Frollo's enemies just as much as we are." She explained, which seemed to calm the mob down.
"We came to warn you," Phoebus continued. "Frollo is coming, he says he knows where you're hiding and he's attacking at dawn with a thousand of those monsters of his!" The Gypsies began to panic, to think that their sanctuary had been discovered, and by Frollo no less, it was a living nightmare.
"Than let's waste no time, we must leave immediately." Esmeralda stated, and with that the Gypsies began frantically packing up their belongings.
"You all took a great risk coming back here, it may not exactly show but we're grateful." Esmeralda thanked with a kind smile.
"I-is there anything else we can do to help." Quasimodo asked timidly but fully determined to help in any way he could.
"Yes, please help everybody pack up their things, we need to get moving as soon as possible." Esmeralda instructed, to which most of the group nodded in understanding, except for Ritsuka.
"I'll stand guard at the entrance and make sure no Heartless get in, good luck you guys." He said before running out of the room. He rushed out of the secret corridor but as soon as he exited, he saw the unpleasant sight of Frollo and his guard Heartless, making their way over to him. "What, but how..." Frollo just gave the boy a smug look, they had been tricked. "Grrr, whatever, I'm not letting you past." Ritsuka summoned his Keyblade and dashed towards Frollo, fully intending to finish him then and there, but to his surprise a gargoyle Heartless appeared right in between them, catching Ritsuka off guard, and gave him a powerful punch square in the jaw, knocking him out cold. He was then placed in a cage specially reserved for the "gypsy witches", Frollo just smirked as he continued to the Court of Miracles.

The special gargoyle heartless that attacked Ritsuka quickly vanished. It didn't allow him to get a good look at it. But it was large. Standing nearly twelve feet tall it was most likely the strongest heartless there. Frollo's heartless burst in and began arresting all the gypsies. People ran around screaming and trying to flee. The girl Karen was knocked out by large numbers of heartless. "I must thank you Quasimodo I knew one day you would be of use to me." Frollo smiled a deep dark smirk as he moved to see the captured Esmeralda. "Well then. Looks like your finally mine." Frollo grinned as she was thrown into the cage.
Frollo had set up a area in front of Notre Dam. With all the gypsies, Phoebus, Ritsuka and Karen where in cages as they were waiting for Frollo to have them all executed. Quasimodo was chained up in Notre Dam in a place where he could watch. Esmeralda was tied up to a wooden pillar surrounded by hay and straw. Frollo stood up holding a scroll. "You have been found guilty of the crime of witchcraft. The punishment for such a crime is death. This case by burning." He pulled up a burning torch. "You have a chance to save yourself. Simply choose me and be my bride. Then I can spare you from the fires of this world and the next." He speaks to Esmeralda up close. She simply looks at him with hateful spite and spits in his face.
"Fine." He speaks to her. "The gypsie witch has refused to confess her sins and save herself. Now she will burn." With this Frollo threw the torch onto the hay and straw. The straw went up and Esmeralda bean to cough from the smoke and heat. While this was happening Quasimodo spoke to his gargoyles. Listening to their words and seeing Esmeralda in peril by the man who has proven to be cruel and evil made him gain a rage inside him. He began to pull on the chains and move causing stone to loosen. Meanwhile down with Frollo the heartless where in great numbers and holding back the civilians who where outraged by Frollo's actions. Quasimodo managed to brake free from the chains. wrapping one around a intact pillar he held onto the other end and ran of the cathedral. Using the chain to swing around and down to Esmeralda he landed on the platform. Frollo looked at him with pure hatred and anger. But surprise at this action. He untied her and began to climb Notre Dam back to the center area in front of the massive stain glass window. He held Esmeralda up and looking at the crowed yelled. "Sanctuary. Sanctuary!" He then moved her up the tower to a small room to see if he can help her. Enraged Frollo moved off the platform and went to his carriage. "Storm the cathedral. Kill the gypsie but leave the hunchback to me." The heartless nodded and began placing ladders and hooks to climb the cathedral. Inside Quasimodo began to throw down hunks of stone he had laying around crushing heartless as one flew towards and crushed Frollo's carriage. Frollo's horse panicked and began running. Frollo looked up and was completely enraged and angered. He moved over and took a sword from a heartless and called forth a battering ram. They began attacking the cathedrals doors. Phoebes managed to steal the keys from the heartless in front of the cage and unlocked the cage. Stealing a sword he struck down the heartless and stood on top of the cage. "People of Paris. For years Frollo has oppressed our people and butchered us without mercy. Now he attacks Notre Dam herself. Will we allow it?" "No!" The crowed yells and in the confusion begin to attack the heartless. The gates where unlocked and a large battle began in the center of Paris.

Karin sprinted from the cage, whipping out her kantana and attacking the heartless that reined down on the people. Most of them were the jester heartless, but after awhile more and more gargoyles appeared.
"Where is Frollo?!" Karin called to Ristuka who was fighting the other heartless.
"We have to stop Frollo before he unleashes something worse!" She called to him, slashing down more heartless.

"You don't think I know that?" Ritsuka replied as he clashed with a gargoyle heartless. "But there's too many Heartless right now, we can't just leave the people to fend for themselves." He said, the heartless just seemed to keep coming, something had to be done to lower their numbers before they did anything to help Quasimodo. Just then, as if on cue, the guards began to back away from the church, and when Ritsuka looked up he saw why. Flowing from the churches towers was a waterfall of molten iron, burning a number number of unlucky Heartless to death, reducing the numbers to a more reasonable amount.
"Whoa, show me how to do that spell, kupo." Moguri said in admiration at the display. Ritsuka then caught a glimpse of a satisfied Quasimodo from the bell tower.
"Way to go, Quasi!" Ritsuka said with a thumbs up. The molten liquid finally dissipated, allowing entrance into the cathedral again, and he noticed that Frollo was no longer present. "Come on, let's get moving, Frollo's probably already inside!"
