(Would you like to go first, Rhythm?)

I walked along the cobbled road with high spirits. Having previously swiped an amulet from a noble, I'd been able to but myself a meal before setting off to the next town. My paws had grown accustomed to the rough cobblestone, but still I was displeased. I knew predators roamed these woods, and though I was no particular breed of animal, being a familiar, I was often mistaken for a field mouse. I kept myself on my toes, Ill-prepared, but hoping a spark of magic could scare off a crow or too.

It was a nice, slightly sunny day. A few clouds hovered through the sky overhead, but none indicated rain storms. A young child walked on the outskirts of down, simply for the desire of exploration, and boredom. The young child was managing to keep his true self a secret, by wearing a hat, and having his tail tucked into his pants. The young boy appearing no more then 4 or 5 wandered around, looking for various things. Rather he found butterflies, or flowers, or even an acorn or two, he pretend it was discovered treasure of some kind.

He wandered further and farther away from the town, until one thing caught the boys attention, something moving in the distance. Curiously, he went to check it out.

I pranced along, fluffy tail waving high in the air. The forest was quite, save for the light rustling of leaves. The preds were most likely driven out of here long ago due to being so close to a city. I had nothing to worry about.

I looked up. Not a cloud in the sky.

I hummed to myself, a song called "The Rocky Roadt to Dublin". Quiet loudly, considering my size, too. I was glad my voice wasn't overly squeaky, or birds would surely come after me.

The little boy began to make his way over to the moving thing he saw on the cobblestone road. The boy paused, and watched curiously as the small white creature made its way along. The child tilted his head to the side a bit. Somehow, this was the most fascinating thing he had seen all day long. Slowly the child got closer and closer to the little thing, wanting a closer look.

My (admittedly giant and foxlike) twitched as I noticed sound was blocked behind me. Something rather large... A cat? A wolf? Whatever it is, it's probably not a good idea to engage it. I hastily run to a tree with an opening in the roots and dive down, hoping it lacks the speed or intelligence to follow.

Astral blinked as he watched as the little creature ran off. "Wait up!" The little boy said and ran after the mouse like creature, but sadly lost it, and slowed to a walk. He looked around, "where did you go?" The little boy asked aloud as he looked around. Where had the little fellow gone?

My ears perked up at the sound of... A little boy? I poke my head up out of the tangle of roots and look. Yup, one precocious kid. I let out a sigh of relief and hop out. Surely he won't cause me any harm.

I look up at the towering mass above and cough into a paw. "Well hi! I'm Snicker."

Astral looked over at the tree, seeing the little animal jump out from underneath the tangled roots. The little boy started to walk over to it, and got on his knees, looking at the little animal. It was so cute. Though the boy seemed both surprised and curious when it spoke. "You can talk!" The boy exclaimed with a smile. "I'm Astral" the little boy said.

I stand on my haunches, as the humans do and I've learned to do, and wave. "What are you doing out here? Don't only the hunters come out here?" He may be lost... I inwardly sigh. While it's dangerous for me, at least I have magic. I need to get this little guy out of here.

The little boy shrugged lightly. "I was just playing" the boy said. Here he could play and not get hurt or anything. He didn't see that it mattered that he was out here. The way he saw it, it wasn't like he would get shot by a hunter, right?

I look him up and down. "Well, if you say so..." I sit back. Maybe I could give him something before I go... He seems like a sweet kid. "What all do you like to do out here?"

"Find stuff.." he said and pulled a small little acorn out of his pocket. "Small things.." he said and set the acorn down before pulling out a few more acorns, and a few colorful flowers. "See?" He asked softly.

"Oh... Huh." I glance at the acorn. Enough to feed me for three days... Of course, I don't exactly have mouth pouches like those lucky little chipmunks do. "Hey... If you want, I'd like to trade you something for that acorn. That and a nice pocket or something would be fantastic."

Astral sat down on the ground, looking at his treasure, even if it wasn't much. Astral looked at the animal, and tilted his head lightly, "trade my treasure?" He asked lightly. What could be worth his 'treasure?'

"That's right. I'll give you one wish; and in exchange, I'd like to have your acorn and a piece of cloth." I nod. Usually I'd trick whoever' making wishes with me, but I'm reforming; no need to do that anymore. Plus, this is a child. I'd never trick a kid.

Astral looked at his acorn, thinking that offer over, before gently pushing the acorn over to the animal, Snicker. He looked down, he didn't have a piece of cloth, except the clothes on his back, but he wasent strong enough to rip a piece off.

I look at him attempting to pull a piece off and rethink my offer. "Ya know what, the acorn will do just fine. Anyway, what would you like?"

Astral looked at Snicker and nodded an okay. So he lost just an acorn. The child began to wonder. What did he want? Unlike most children his age, he didn't wish for a toy or something.

I looked up at the boy. Perhaps he just needs some time to think about it.
