Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to introduce to you, the magic shop! I was actually in the middle (well more like beginning) of posting a long list of the RPs I'd like to try, but as soon as I started working on the idea I'm about to present I realized I really only wanted to try that one. Knowing how poorly I lay out what I try to say in these things, I've decided to first lay out my idea, then lay out what I am looking for. I'm psyched for this!


The RP

Genre: Fantasy
Post Lengths: Varied (trying to avoid one liners, but an occasional is alright)
RP Length: A LONG time
Character #: Preferably one other
The Juicy Details: Our characters own and operate a store that sells magical, mysterious, and rare, and mythical/legendary items. In order to keep the store stocked we have to personally go out on small adventures to find and retrieve items as previously described. I figured this would create different adventures in the same RP that our characters could go through. It also means that they all stack and build on each other. I'd like for both characters going in to this to be nothing special (fighting skills can be alright, but I'm looking more for just adventurers. They're clever and resourceful, not soldiers). This way as the RP progresses we start to see changes in them and they learn new things. Maybe one of them learns magic, maybe one of them studies martial arts. That way it impacts the next adventure. I think it might also be an interesting challenge (although I'm up to not doing it as well) to try and keep track of their currency through out the rp. The bigger and better the items, the more money they can get... if they can sell it. This go to use for funding the next expedition (travel, equipment, etc). It also wouldn't help if the characters were either related or good friends (I mean... they have to at least stand each other to be work together with that sort of job).



What I'm looking for
I'm really REALLY hoping for this to be a successful, long term RP. I'm actually going to create a character just for the RP so that I have a fresh start. While that's not a make it or break it thing, it would be cool (but character slots fill up quick, I understand. I recently cleared a few so I have room for one). I'd like at least one paragraph minimums and multi-paragraph posts that aren't too long but are descriptive make me want to give you a cookie. I'm okay with the occasional one liner if it is something that actually contributes to the RP (just say, hey, using a one liner because of _____ and I'll understand). If you decide you want to be the one to join in on this adventurous RP, then please make sure you contribute! I want this to be an awesomely awesome collaboration. I think that's just about it. I guess the only other thing I can do is again stress how much I'm looking for someone dedicated to this RP working out and actually continuing on and on.




Well, that's about it! I shall ramble no more (unless you have a question... do you dare provoke me into more verbose explanations?).

This could be before I learn my magic, and on one of the adventures I learn my magic. May I please join you on this ROOFTOPS?

He may be a little young and over experienced for this. If he ran away at 14 then he would have to be 14-16 in the RP, right? I'm looking more for a character that has established his/her life and this is the job he/she makes a living with. Also with as kick butt as he is, he's actually too well trained for this RP. While I think it would be cool for the characters to get to there, starting them off with that would ruin some of the challenges (I think I actually addressed that one above somewhere).

Would an apprenticeship work?

Possibly. I'm looking for a co-owner of the store. Maybe we can bring Archer in on a few missions/adventures as the apprentice before he does whatever he chooses?

I'd be interested but the only Fantasy styled character I have is Jenny, who might be too young, though I could see her just getting a job there, not anticipating what would be required :U

We could do a different one where it's sci fi based instead. Then they could be recovering ancient tech, find artifacts, etc. Would that work for you guys?

Maybe a mix of the two? Have the RP set in the future with high tech shizz nits and the Artifacts that are being looked up are magical in nature, as I can relatively easily adapt Jenny to a future RP and even if you'd prefer me not use that I have Saraxx who could work in a sci-fi setting easily.

I am setting this to closed for now. I have had a few people approach me already. Harvest, thank you for showing interest, however I believe I have a partner for this RP. I do have other ideas that have some similar concepts. If you would like to discuss these and see if we can figure something out then please feel free to PM me!
