Ummm... Then that's 3 characters ur using... Why is he important to this story?
I don't really know, he mostly just keeps Kara from becoming too depressed. He would occasionally help out on the main quest where a Spirit might be necessary. He's also a protector of the forest and such and would definitely have reason to go after Hook if he destroyed a forest or two.
Then I'd say no, just stick with two characters for now.
