Mai pursued her lips together for a moment, thinking on this. Clearly, she wasn't too keen on the idea of using the dark arts for any reason. "Let's try first baiting him out with the drink he seems to love so much. If that does not work, then we will try getting the materials we need to summon him. Using the dark arts can kill me but I'm not sure if they will just punish me for since they still need my witch line to continue." She raked a hand through her short black hair, making it more tousled than before.
He nodded. "I understand. I wouldn't want to meddle in black magic either." He set down the plate in the sink (not knowing it was meant to be thrown away) and washed his hands again. "Snicker loves anything sweet. Rooty beer isn't the only thing that will attract him. If we could make some cake, tea, cookies, or other things, the smell will certainly attract him."
Mai nodded. "That shouldn't be too hard. We should be able to get plenty of that stuff. May I ask, but is Snicker a young child of some sort? I'm not sure on how to see him since he sounds like he can be serious but usually is not that serious all the time." Even though she was a witch, Mai hadn't ventured out of the human dominated parts of the world and she honestly liked the stability of the human world.
The hunter snorted a bit. "No, not at all. He's a fox about yay tall, sitting on his haunches," he said while using his hands to show he was maybe a foot tall. "Fur white as snow. Lovely pelt. Large ears, even for a fox. Familiars are typically talking animals of some sort, like him."
(In case you haven't seen it yet, Snicker is actually a character on my profile. )

(I saw. He looks so cute! I think he would get along with FallenAngel123's character Trevor or Summer[both being little kids])
Mai nodded, finishing her food. She threw away her paper plate and took Allan's out of the sink and threw it away. "I don't know if you know what paper is just yet but it can not be washed, it becomes soggy, easily broken and unable to hold food." She looked back at him. "Alright. Then it might not be too hard to find him, if he is lured by the sweets."

(Aw, thanks. -//w//- I love playing as him. Quite the eccentric. And I'll have to check out their profile! )
Whit tilted his head, eyebrows furrowed. "I know of paper, but that's not parchment... This age is so strange." He nodded at her response. "He's not too hard to intrigue. Curious fellow. Surprised he isn't a rug yet."
(Time skip to sometime in the future? This scene looks about done.)

(You are very welcome~ X3 I think he is super cute!)
Mai shook her head slowly in a more joking way of disapproving. "You seem like such a good friend to him. Many people are curious but it can get them killed." She said as she laid down on one of the beds.
(Yeah. Do you want to or should I?)

The man scoffed. "I'm not on great terms with him. Never been on good terms with any magic user, actually... It's breaking universal rules, and I don't welcome that." Sitting in a chair, he drew his knife and ivory and began carving again, careful not to spread the shavings.
(If you'd change the scene, then I'd be fine with that. Actually prefer, I think.)

Mai let out a sigh but grinned a bit. "And yet you are coming to a witch for help? I would think that you would need to be on good terms with a witch, classified as a magic user, to be able to get their services." She couldn't help but use that jab, since it was true. She let out a yawn and stood. "I tink it is best we both get some sleep. We will need to go shopping tomorrow to find all the sweets we will need to get this little Snicker's attention." She stretched then grabbed her suit case, opening it and pulling a few clothes out to change into. "I will be back." She said then slipped into the bathroom to change clothes. Once out, she pulled the covers back on her bed and crawled onto it, ready to get some sleep. "G'night, Allan." She said before drifting to sleep.
~Next day~
After waking up, getting ready and grabbed her wallet, Mai began to wake Allan. Mai was an earlier raiser, so right now, it was about 7 in the morning and she had taken an hour getting ready. "Get up, boy of past. We need to get your friend."

He tilted his head in consideration, smiling a little. "I suppose so. Still, you have to do what you have to do." He crawled into one of the guest beds, having already removed his boots. "G'night. And thank you."
~Next Day~
The hunter was just as much an early riser, and by the time she'd come to wake him he was already sitting on the bed.he chuckled at his title. "'Boy of past.' Good morning to you too, Ms. Witch Wench. As far as Snicker goes, I'm ready to go. I have experience in cooking, so I can help there, but ingredients I'm nt sure about. You?"

Mai rolled her bright red eyes and nodded. "I hardly think I can be qualified as a wench, I can knock you dead faster than I can clean. Yes, I'm ready. I know one thing that I'm sure Snicker probably hasn't tried but it includes his favorite drink so that we get his attention for sure with the other sweets. Though, where we have this set up?"
"A tavern, if possible. Someplace a fox would go for warmth. As thick as his pelt is, he loves a good fire. Any place like that around here?" He put his boots on and was ready within a few minutes, already by the door.
Mai walked with him, grabbing the key card and opening the door. "Well, there aren't many places that have fire going but a cabin would most likely be the place he would be at, though we would have to get one first and hope that he would be drawn to it."
He grimaced. "I'm not sure I could compensate you for that... Any place we could start a fire? I know how, obviously..." They set out the door, the hunter following the witch. "What is with you people and armored carriages?! Do you plan on going to war?!"
"We can set a fire really anywhere but I would suggest if we want to use the quickest method of a place, we try setting a fire in the woods tonight after we get everything we need." She let out a laugh, one so rare to hear and sounding like a sound that would never leave her throat. "No, humans are much weaker and skittish than they used to be. They all want to feel safe and not learn how to protect themselves and want someone else to make it for them. This day and age is defiantly not a place you will like." There was a spark of life in her red eyes for a moment, that it disappeared, like she was not allowing herself to truly live.
"Sounds like a plan. We'll have to bake the sweets elsewhere, I imagine. I know people use stoves to make them, not cauldrons over fires." He tsked at her next statement. "They always have, it seems. This just seems worse." Looking down at the sidewalk, he asked, "Are we going by foot, or one of those contraptions?"
Mai nodded. "Yeah we will need to come back here and start baking the cakes and such and tonight we will go to the forest and light a fire. My guess is that after almost getting hit by a car, he will hide in a place that he knows." She said thinking then grinned at his questions and shook her head. "No, we are going by foot until night, then we will need to get a taxi to find a remote location so we won't have other humans to worry about finding us."
"Okay then. We should have plenty of time then. Let's go and get the ingredients." He let her take the lead, stuffing his hands in his pockets to keep warm. "Glad we're going by foot too. I hate the noise."
Somewhere on the city, a fluffy bundle of mischief shivered, arching its back. "I feel as though I've been jinxed..." A moment later, a metal carriage flew across his path, frightening the creature into a puff. "Gods! Watch yourself, peasant!"

((Gotta prove Mai right. ))
She laughed a bit at what he said. "I guess you are used to the quiet of the forest or small villages. Don't worry, we should be done before night and you won't have to deal with this place anymore." She said while she was walking to the store to get all the ingredients.

(Proposed time skip? I've got nothing to say. Maybe to when they're making the cakes or something? )
