Whit hefted most of the groceries in, which he'd insisted on, and set them on the counter. He was perplexed as to why there were instructions on some of the boxes, something he hadn't ever seen before. "Which one will take the longest? We should start that one first."

Mai took in the rest of the groceries, though it wasn't as much as she was willing to carry. She set the rest down then looked through the boxes they had, there were several different types of cakes, cookies, and brownies, though she assumed that Snicker might not eat it all so it would be wasted; she didn't care much for sweets. "I am not sure on that. They should all take not too long, the cookies will have to be last because they take the least amount of time but brownies take longer than cakes do."

"Right then." He examined the box of brownie mix curiously, reading the back of the box. "We need eggs and brown sugar too... Don't you people just memorize this? You all can't be that forgetful."

Mai shook her head and laugh. "Not all of us have the time to memorize these recipes. We all have different jobs that keep us busy and families, the women don't stay home anymore, most are out and about working." She said calmly as she pulled out the eggs and brown sugar. "You seem to question everything now." She muttered under her breath.

He continued making everything as instructed, asking for help if he needed anything. Soon, they had three dishes of sweets; brownies, a cake, and cookies. "This should be sufficient. Are you ready to go?" He grabbed all he had, crossbow held by a carry handle, and carried two of the dishes to the door.

Mai helped when she could, sticking close by to see if there was something he messed up on. She didn't want to held accountable if the hotel burned down. Once that was all done, she put on her jacket, grabbed her suitcase and one of the dishes. "Yeah." She said then opened the door, having the room key in her hand still. Once in the lobby, she returned the key and then headed outside, waving her hand out a bit, she finally got a cab to come to them. "We are going to have to ride in this, will you be okay?"

The man nodded, carefully placing the dishes in the cab. "I'll be fine. I just think these machines are odd is all." He held the door open for her, sitting down himself after she was in. "So, woods. After we get there, we'll make the fire, we'll wait for the little one to come out, and I'll use this--" he produced chalk from his pocket, "-- to send us back to our own time."

He didn't say much else for the rest of the drive, lips pursed. "Thank you for helping me out with this."
