The man that stood there was trying to look hard-ass, he really was. He was trying to look like a man just concerned with keeping the operations going, keeping his people secure--but he wasn't doing a very good job. No, the moment he saw the young woman, the firm line of his mouth began to waver, and that particular battle was lost when she leapt into his arms.
I'm sorry, baby-girl," he said as he hugged his daughter tightly. "I'm--sorry." He wanted to go on, to ramble, to try and explain everything, but--not right then. Not right then. For that moment, all that mattered is he had his daughter back in his rams. The big, cheese-eating grin on his face was not one many people had seen, but he couldn't help it. He hugged her tightly, eyes closed, almost unable to believe she was there.

Someone opened the door for House quickly. He gave the technician the gun and told him to clean up the bodies. He covered the wound with his hand as he walked to the infirmary, ignoring everyone's offer to help him. I'm not shot in the leg, just get out of my way. he thought. Once to the infirmary, they loaded him up with morphine, pulled the bullet out, and stitched it up then wrapped the wound.
Thinking better of it, he decided to go a new shirt. A short walk to the armory and a five minute lecture about how bullet holes take time to fix and some other stuff, he stopped listening half way through when he realized he hadn't told the Capt'n that the threat was dealt with.
He spoke into the microphone, "The targets have been eliminated Captain."

Sly smiled, he knew there was no feeling like the one they're feeling right now. He excused himself, shutting the door behind him as he left. They needed the time alone. He made his way down the stairs going to the same place he came from. His earpiece crackled as House notified them of the FF situation "Good job my man, keep it up and you'll get as good as me" he chuckled as replied to House.
When he got back to main HQ he saw drops of blood leading to the infirmary "our hero" he said to himself. Sly stepped into the infirmary and saw House hastily and clumsily bandage himself up, he smiled to himself then waved over a nurse. He approached House with a grin "one more scar to add to the collection eh? If you keep going at this rate you'll beat me" the grin still on his face as he took a seat on the chair opposite him "stop and let the cute nurse look at you" The nurse was hesitant at first but as soon as House stopped she carefully started bandaging him up.

After that big, long hug, she pushed herself off of him, wiped her tears away and looked him in the eyes. "It's fine, I mean, I still want an explanation but for now it's fine." With her right hand she pushed her black hair behind her ear. "So? Why did you need me here? And why isn't mom here with us?"
Her stomach growl and she made a embarrassed face. "Sorry, I didn't eat tonight. I was supposed to eat late with mom since she's almost never home, we eat dinner together when she is. Around 11, but your guys kinda 'picked' me up." Both of her hands, she put them in her pockets, because she didn't really know what to do with them. It was all so strange and new. How do you talk to your father, whom you've never interacted with?

And Sly--keep that up, and I'll find tests for them to run in the infirmary that will have you walking funny." Why--that was a joke. Said with a smile evident in his voice, even. Turning his attention quickly back to his daughter, he said, "Sorry about that. And--let's talk about it while we get you something to eat. The food my not be the fine dining you're used to, but it'll fill you up." With that, he took a half-step back and indicated a hall behind him.
The initial jocularity brought about by reuniting with his daughter was starting to be replaced with--uncertainty, really. So many things to say, without knowing how to say them; questions to ask, doubtless plenty of questions to answer. It--was almost daunting, really.
