Porter was surprised when she was lifted up, but she didn't object to the new view. When Rezai shoved through the crowd to get to the back, Porter rubbed her face. "Abelith! It's a bookstore! You have to buy the books before you read them!" she shouted over the crowd. Why on earth was Abby acting so strangely? Hadn't she been to a bookstore before?
Malice huffed, pushing through the crowd, the others still resting on her shoulders. "Beat it, bozos. Let the girl read in peace. She's probably just reading the first few pages to see if she likes them." Once they got to a clear area, she set the others down. "Find anything good?" She took a look at the mountain of books she'd collected. "Looks like you're interested in quite a few... Gonna need you to grab just a few though. I can't but all of those..."
Sparks hopped off Toram's shoulder to browse through the stacks. "What all did you grab?"
Sparks hopped off Toram's shoulder to browse through the stacks. "What all did you grab?"
"Well most of the books I've found are about fantasy settings."Abelith explained, not looking up. "So I can udnerstand being kind of frustrated with the pile of books, but why's there a crowd outside?"Toram asked. Abelith shrugged. "A few of the books I had borrowed some people were holding, though I don't quite see why they're upset that I took some books. Where I'm from some of the citizens would be honored to hand me books."Abelith said.
Porter nudged at Malice to let her down. Once she was on the ground, she looed around at all the books, them at Abelith. "Well they were probably thinking about buying those books," she said with a small shrug. "People usually don't particularly like to have something taken from them that they were planning on getting." She glanced briefly at Rezai, whom she had caught taking the blade back in Weapon Select from a bear.
Upon hearing Abelith's explanation, Sparks and Malice responded with an understanding, "Oh." Sparks shook his head. "You're expected to only be able to buy what's on the shelves." He looked at the hord of angry customers. "We should return the rest and be on our way."
Malice nodded. "Grab the ones you like and we'll get going." She pointed to the intimidated rabbit cashier.
Sparks bowed to the customers. "Sorry for the inconvenience. She's a foreigner." This would hopefully settle the crowd a bit.

(I'm heading to bed. Gnight!)
"But I like all of these books."Abelith said, finally looking up. "Yeah but we can't afford all these books."Toram said, picking up a stack and hoisting it over his head. "Uh... I'm just gonna put this here."he said putting the stack on a low table.
Porter was...slightly confused, yes. She had no idea why Abelith acted this way. "Just choose your favorites," she said, moving towards another pile of books. She glanced at the bat. "You can always come back later and get them when you have the money, or just...go to a library or something."
Malice nodded, scooping up Sparks in her tail, to which he wriggled in protest. "Now let's hurry up and go. Sooner we leave, the better." At seeing Sparks' protests, she lifted him up to her muzzle. "And stop complaining, or I'll carry you in my jaws."
Sparky growled, nipping at her tail. "Put me down, stupid--"
Malice took no more of this and snapped her jaws shut on him, leaving his legs poking out. She turned to the others and gestured for them to go to the counter. At more squirming from the rat, she slurped up the rest of Sparks, who grumbled.

"Oi! Spit him out!"Toram demanded. "Look. Just get the books you really want right now."Rezai said. She grabbed a book and held it out. "Do you desperately need this one?"She asked, getting an unamuzed gaze from Abelith.
Porter had started sorting out the books, trying to disassemble the stacks. She glanced back at Abelith. "Please, can you choose just a few? People are going to want to come and get their books back..."
Malice helped them start putting the books back. She glanced at the crowd and the cashier, hoping nobody noticed her stuff Sparky in her mouth. She had been behind a bookcase, but she was cautious all the same. In response to Toram she said, "No." There was a flash of fluffy mouse as she spoke. She pointed at Abby and gestured for her to put up all the books, expecting her to grab the ones she liked.
Tram frowned, noticing Malice's tail wagging around. Without question he grabbed it and bit down on it as hard as he could in an effort to get her to spit out Sparks. "But I want all these books..."Abelith said disheartened. "You can get the digital version."Rezai said. "Digital version?"Abelith asked.
"Yes, the digital version," Porter said over a stack of books. "Like, on a tablet or something. You can get as many books as you want on there, and carry them all wherever you go." She offered a smile.
(Forgive me if I'm overplaying Malice's predator trait. Criticism is encouraged.)
Malice yelped, surprised, and choked on the little hairball in her mouth. "Shoot-- wrong pipe!" She coughed, trying to get the mouse back up. Getting behind the bookcase and away from prying eyes, she hacked and sputtered uncontrollably. "Guys--" another cough, "he's in my lungs. Please, let's get going." She held a hand to her ribcage. "Crap... He better not scratch." She frowned unhappily. There was muffled shouting coming from her abdomen.
She turned to Abelith. "I'll get you a Candle Light and you can download all the free--" she wheezed, pointing to some electronics, "--books you like." More coughing, a tuft of navy fur popping out of her mouth. "Does anyone have some water?"

"Hold on, I'll get him out"Toram said, performing the Heimlich maneuver on Malice, hoping to get Sparks out.
"A candle light?"Abelith said confused. "Why would you buy my a lit candle?"She asked, unaware of Malice's choking on Sparks.
Oop: Personally I think you are just a tad

(Same xD Poor Sparks!)
"Sparks!" Porter quickly set down her books and hurried to where the wet clump of fur had dropped from Malice's mouth. She knelt down, picking up the poor creature. "Hey, you okay?" She scrunched up her nose. "We should get you cleaned up..."

(Apologies. It's ridiculously fun playing to Malice's ravenous appetite. )
Malice shook her head. "That's a furball." At Toram's attempt of performing the Heinrich manevuer, she protested. "You're too small. I got this." Getting on all fours (an embarrassing act, especially for a mighty purple tigress), she let out a large, whopping cough, spitting out a wet mass of fur that was indeed Sparks. "I take it back... You're never allowed near my organs again, pipsqueak."
Sparky hit the floor with a rather ungraceful plop, flicking his paws in disgust. "Yuck... Dude, again, not cool. That was only slightly better than your stomach, and that's just because there weren't digesting potato chips in there." He looked over at Porter, touched by her worry for... His fur. "I'm over here, actually, and I'm fine. But thank you for your concern!"
Malice threw down a few napkins she'd kept from her hot dog raid and turned away. "I can't imagine how much you shed. I was choking on fur."
She turned to Abelith. "It's a device that allows you to read books in a digital format. Saves a lot of space and money."

"You okay man?"Toram asked walking up to Sparks, holding his hand out for the mouse to hop into. "Books can be stored on that?"Abelith asked, tilting her head. "Yes, they can."Rezai responded, walking over and grabbing a box with a Candle light in it. By nwo the crowd had dispersed, with many people having retrieved the books they'd been holding earlier.
Malice pulled out her e-card and went up to the counter, ready to pay. "You'll enjoy this, I can promise you that. And it'll introduce you to new technology."
Sparks was drying off with the napkins, and once fully dry, hopped in Toram's hand. "You ladies have got to watch us play Rotting Space tonight. I hope none of you have breathing issues though. Could get scary."
