The blast shot through the Muck Beast. It let out a pained and very angry scream. It's head spun around, scanning the forest. It still didn't seem to see the droid. It let out a few echoing barks, before turning its attention back to the struggling Alien.
"Why isn't it attacking the Drone?"Saraxx asked. If the Muck Beast was merely a simple minded alien, there would be no reason for the Muck Beast to ignore the drone. Hell, most animals would attack the drone the instant ti made itself a known threat, if they didn't run from it that is. After a few short minutes, odd unintelligible gibbering was heard. The aliens Xiara and Jaqulynn had seen earlier arrived, though the Chieftan wasn't with them.

"I..I do not know..." A stumped Xiara replied. "Perhaps the drone has no scent. I am not exactly sure if the beast can actually see it's enemies." The Actarian's eyes were mostly fixated on the beast and the drone. For all he cared, the natives were bystanders.
The drone itself was unsure as to why the beast had not responded, and now that these natives had presented themselves, it began to no longer care for the mercenaries at had planned to control. These natives would make better subjects for it's cause. Now it simply stood by the carnage, ignorant of the suffering the mercenaries were being put through.

The Muck Beast barked some orders in its deep, slimey voice. The tribals looked around for the source of the bolt, while the Muck Beast kept its attention on the mercenaries.
"Did it just... talk?!"Saraxx asked surprised.
"Did it just... talk?!"Saraxx asked surprised.
"Possibly. It's subservient believers seem to have understood it." Xiara replied. The Drone simply decided to wait. It began to understand that dissuasion was futile.
The Alien the Muck Beast had pinned stopped struggling, with the Muck Beast swallowing the poor guy like it did the captain. Its attention turned to another mercenary, and it charged, repeating the attacks it had used previously. The tribals scanned the area, eye the droid suspiciously. They had been told to be on the look out for any jets of fire(It felt like fire to the Muck Beast who is incredibly uneducated). They didn't know why but the droid put them on edge.
The Drone gave a blank gaze, simply surveying the tribals. They certainly looked curious no doubt, and it wished to see what action the natives had in mind. It was ready to defend itself should natives planned to attack, as the drone checked to see how sharp it's dagger-like claws were in case of a battle.
After a short while the Muck Beast had devoured the drone's mercs. It said something to the tribals, before walking off, back into the forest. The tribals eyed he drone, before following the Muck Beast. "So now what do we do?"Saraxx asked, looking at the drone.
"It seems that now, we must greet the supposed drone." Xiara replied.
The Caretaker got up from his little hiding place, now completely visible to the 'drone', of which of course chose not to react. "Hah, why would a Naekhoric be so far from it's refuge? Are you once again bored amongst your own kind, living machine..?" Xiara mocked the dark automaton.
The machine chose to suddenly awake from it's silence. "Do not mock me, Atarid. At least I am not doomed to be trapped upon this wild world, upon that rusty hovel you call a ship. I may leave whenever I see fit to journey to the next world." The alien argued, it's voice was deep, rough, and obviously robotic. But it contained a slight tone of annoyance, an emotion that not much synthetic species carried.

Saraxx stood up, making sure the neither, the tribals, nor the Muck Beast returned. She was much less interested in the drone.
"Your arrogance is boundless, Alien. If you are able to back up your words, then why were you the dog of a few mercenaries? For what reason did you put on a petty facade, only to find your 'owners' dead at the hands of a weak-minded beast?" Xiara gave a harsh retaliation to the machine.
"Do not be a fool, for one such as you should obviously understand what is now bound to happen. I would not be here without reason. In fact, what if I confided in you, and your friend for that matter, that there is more to this planetoid than at first glance? What if this so-called 'Vacation world' was now the playden of not only a few backward tribes and their glorified pet, but to an illegal planet selling syndicate?" The Naekhoric explained.
"Hm. So you're here to save the natives? I had always known that your kind had little grasp on emotion, but I had not thought that empathy and kindness would be the first."
"Even if you would prefer that ideal, you are wrong. I will not lie, I am here to loot." The machine confessed.

"Where those mercenaries your partners?"Saraxx asked.
Oop: Holy bacon bits Batman! I just got an idea!

"Partners? Negative. For all they had known, I am but a lost droid that they had recently unearthed. I had planned to survey the events that would unfold upon the planet, and then exploit them." The Naekhoric replied.
(And what would that be?)
(And what would that be?)
Oop: well I was going to use my character Xeres, an emotionless warbot, as some kind of antagonist. I don't have the kinks worked out yet though.
Saraxx glanced at the droid, before looking off into the forest, keeping an eye out for the Muck Beast and Tribals in case they return.

"Hm. So how do these events regard one such as yourself." Xiara inquired of the alien.
"While I have no actual data regarding the large creature, I believe that the supposed 'natives' of this world belong to one of the ancient colonies of a lost civilization within this sector. Alleged rumours tell of the great artifacts these seemingly simple people hold: A shamanist ark. The divine link between this plane of reality, and the aether. I had heard of this relic only by chance, and it is a reason why you had encountered those 'mercenaries.'" The Naekhoric explained.
(I'm sorry if I seem to be getting out of hand. For the most part, I am just trying to add plot )

Oop: Go ahead man I didn't have much planned for the Tribals beyond they worshiped the Muck Beast whose a big slimey glutton.
"The aether?"Saraxx asked. While her kind did have an after life, it wasn't called the Aether, and it couldn't be accessed by the living. It certainly couldn't be accessed by a bunch of tribal savages.

(Hurrah!)
"It is dimensional plane of spiritual existence. It is also commonly known as an afterlife, but not necessarily home to just the dead. In the aether, imagination becomes reality, which is probably how all these separate forms of the afterlife all come into place. It is near impossible to traverse through The aether, but if what this Naekhoric says is true, then this... 'Shamanist Ark' is an ancient key into the infinite realm." The Caretaker explained what little he knew to Saraxx, though he was still unsure of whether to believe the words of the machine, who although was not evil by any means, was instinctively capricious.

"Blasphemy."Saraxx said. "No mortal being is capable of traversing the after life. Atleast not whilst being alive. And I know for certain that some droid couldn't even access the afterlife, dead or not."She added.
"Your zealotry is misplaced..." The Naekhoric's hiss sounded hoarse and rough, like a dying radio. "You can debate the Ark's potency once you have truly seen it's use. Does that sound fair enough?" The lithe machine asked.
"Do you even know the location of this Ark? Assuming it actually exists."Saraxx questioned.
"If I did not, then I would not be here on this overgrown planetoid." The Naekhoric answered. "Similar to what I had previously said, the Ark's existence can be disputed once it's keep has been found."
