((This is an open RP for child characters! Genre doesn't matter. Because it's all at a playground, it's also perfectly sensible for kids to come in to the middle of things as they arrive or to have to leave in the middle of things if their parents decide it's time to go home. Non-children aren't forbidden, but should be kept to an absolute minimum. Icky evil people are not allowed - unless it's just pretend!

Children ran about the playground, chasing each other, screaming and laughing while parents and other chaperones relaxed back away on the benches. To the adults and almost-adults, it was a pleasantly warm day in the park. But to the children, things were a little different...
Willow was among the few children present with no one to keep an eye on her, and so there was no one to object as she climbed up the jungle gym, out onto the top of the high slide tower, and stood proudly. With her tail upright and her arms outstretched, and dirty little squirrel child declared to all, "I'm da king of da castle!"

Peeking out from the bushes, the timid reptile boy that called itself Riik watched with interest as the busy park fell victim to the busy atmosphere of a temperate day. Sunlight... heat... those were two things that Riik tended to avoid, but having had strayed this far into civilisation, there was no way to safely hide himself away without risk of being caught, so he needed to remain awake and alert; and what better way to do that than to explore the curiosity that fell upon him as a result of opening himself to this playful little world.
Unclothed and untamed, Riik waited and watched, a misplaced being of the wild alone amongst civilisation. He just had to learn more about the rituals that took place here; and for now, he was content to do so from his position hidden away in the foliage.

Jal was sitting on a swing, with her ears pointed down, her tail lazily moving about, and she was looking at the ground, being on her own for the time being. She sighed. Her best friend Bart, an ogre boy, was usually busy studying magic or something stupid like that. Timmy, an odd pale being with sharp claws, didn't even have a phone so she could call and ask if he wanted to play. Sarah, a skeleton girl, was out of town, and finally Samantha, a werewolf pup, was grounded. She didn't have anyone to play with and there was no way she was just gonna walk up to some total stranger and ask to play.
She looked up hearing someone shout they were the king of the castle or something like that.

The young man heard the brazen declaration of the dirty little rodent child at the top of the slide tower. He could not let that stand! Even so, he knew he would need help storming the tower, so he quickly scanned the playground for someone to aid him on his quest.
"You!" He pointed a bold, dramatic finger at Jal on the swing. "I need your help to topple the tyranny of the crazy squirrel thing!" He scanned the castle. "Okay, I'll charge from the front. You go around the back and take her by surprise. Ready?!"

Jal seemed confused. She didn't even realize any one was addressing her. "What?"She asked, looking around not seeing anyone near her."Are you talking to me?"She asked. She glanced back up to Willow, assuming Hiro was talking about her. "No way I'm going up there!"She said, being more afraid of the height then playing with complete strangers.
"A girl can't be king!" a small boy hollered from across the jungle gym's bridge.
Willow plopped forward and gripped the slide roof with all four sets of digits. With her tail high and defiant in the air, she called back, "Can too!"
"Nuh uh! Girls can on'y be prinsusses!"
"Pff! Yer a prinsus!"
The squirrel girl got so tied up in bickering with the boy that she was entirely unaware of the forming plot to dethrone her.

Jal looked up hearing the Squirrel girl screaming at somebody. She tilted her head. She grunted, shrinking down into a ferret, scurrying up the chain attached to the swing. She balanced on the top of the swing-set, looking over at the jungle gym. "D-Don't look down... don't look down."She muttered to herself shaking.
"Hey! Tha--" The kid turned into a ferret. "Uuh, okay then. That happened. GET DOWN HERE!!" Hiro kicked the frame of the swing set hard enough to dent it. The structure then started to shake and vibrate hard, and Hiro held out his hands, poised and ready to catch the ferret-girl (if that's what she was) when she inevitably feel off.
Jal yelped, falling off and landing on Hiro's head. She slid off, bouncing off his shoulder and hitting to the ground. She turned back to normal rubbing her head. "What was that for?!"She shouted at him angrily.
"We got things to do!" Hiro declared. "King Princess up there needs to go, and I need your help to get her down. Come on!" Hiro ran toward the tower and called out to Willow.
"Hey! I don't care if you're a King, Princess, or the lead manager at Walmart! You're going down!"

Jal glared at Hiro, quickly returning to her small ferret form. She darted passed him, scurrying up the jungle gym, climbing onto the top of the slide, returning to normal and sitting next to Willow, with her arms crossed.
Oop: Dun worry. Hopefully he'll hop on again soon. Hasn't been too actvie lately, I assume it was because of school.
((Nah, not school... I just do a lot of gaming (Civilization V has been addicting me a lot lately). That, and it's 5am here now ))
From Riik's perspective, the playtime squabbles seemed somewhat more violent than they were in actuality. To a creature not privy to the make-believe world of civilised beings, what was occurring right now appeared to be some sort of tussle for power. And it looked like someone might get hurt. Still... it was not his place to interfere... at least not yet. No, Riik merely waited, watching with worry, ready to leap out of the bushes at a moment's notice and save the day from any would-be aggression. Who knew city children could be so rough...

((Be sure you get enough sleep, hon!))
Willow's attention shifted to the other boy yelling at her and arched herself higher, furry tail up like a banner in the wind.
"Nuh uh! Good King Willie will rule forever!" she called back. But, just to make sure all was clear, she leaned forward to explain, "Dat's me."
But her kingdom seemed forgotten the moment a ferret came dashing up beside her and turned into a girl. With a gleeful squeal, Willow threw her arms around the girl. "You can be queen! Or prinsus. Or a knight! Are you a brave knight?"
Willow stood, little balled fists flying into the air. "We'll be da kingdom of fluffy animals!"

"I wanna be a princess"Jal said happily, with her tail wagging behind her. At this point she'd completely lost interest in Hiro. "Kingdom of Fluffy animals!"Jal cheered happily, launching her fists into the air and hopping up, she quickly flattened herself on the top of the slide once she realized how high up she was.
Hiro reached the top of the structure with Willow. He groaned when he realized how useless his supposed backup would be.
"I guess it's up to me to stop you, the line rebel standing up against a tyrannical force. Bring it!" Hero began making his way to the squirrely child, his arms out to keep balance.

"Hold on"Jal told Willow, grabbing onto the top of the slide and beginning to rock side-to-side, trying to shake Hiro off.
"Alright! Den you are da prinsus!" the squirrel child declared brightly. She turned her attention back to the invader then. With a pout, she called out, "I'm not a dinosaur! I'm a squirrel!"
The jungle gym, of course, was built to handle the hyperactive antics of many children all at once, so the attempt to shake it would do little without an especially abnormal level of strength. That didn't mean Willow couldn't shift down and race about the boy's legs though, making it trickier to maintain balance, let alone catch the tiny, furry creature.

Riik continued to watch from the bushes, getting increasingly more concerned. He had learned already that combat was not a typical part of humanoid childhood. And was all the more worried that none of the other visitors to the park were reacting to any of it. Being a child of the wilderness, Riik knew what kinds of injuries fights could lead to. He hoped that the conflict would die down... but if it didn't... he waited. He needed to be prepared to intervene at the first sign of physical contact.
"What the?! Hey!" Hiro tried to avoid stepping on the little rodent, and began dancing around the top of the structure. "Hey! No fair! Stop--hey!"
Hiro began falling down the side of the sloped roof of the jungle gym. Fortunately, his training had made rolling down things second nature. Still, while rolling off the structure didn't harm him in the least, he still managed to land face first in the soft ground below. He spat out a small mouthful of the tender mulch. "That's it!" Hiro recoiled his fist and launched it at the metallic structure. Before he made contact, however, he stopped himself. "Probably not a good idea."
Instead, he climbed up into the structure and, rather than confront his target directly, began delivering powerful punches to the cieling from underneath.
