Does anyone have any software that will disable the mouse pad on a laptop? The buttons on my keyboard t do that don't work, I can't disable my mouse pad in the device manager, or in the mouse options, and as of late my touch pad has decided to start being a huge pain in the ass again. So any suggestions on software that would disable it?
There should be a setting for it. I actually have a key that just turns out off. You on Windows?
mine turns off when i have a mouse plugged in.

@novalyn yes I'm using windows. The buttons on the key board don't work. And the settings are greeted out.

@sweetyceltic I had my laptop set up like that but it didn't work.
Greeted out...?

I think Sketch means 'greyed out'.

If you can't disable your mousepad your drivers may not be fully updated. Before you install anything, go to your Device Manager, right-click on your mousepad and update your drivers. If you have a Dell or another specific brand, check their website for the drivers alternatively just to make sure. (You can also use a tool like DriverScanner for it)

Also what key combination are you pressing? It can vary, though popular combinations are Fn+F3, Fn+F8, F6 or a key next to F12. They also depend on the brand etc.

If none of it works and you're 100% sure your drivers are updated, try using software such as Touchpad Blocker.

Please be careful and use your own healthy judgment on what you install. I don't use any of these programs myself but they turn up frequently when I Google the problem, so they might be worth a shot. I hope this helps.
Should be able to get at it through the control panel. I'm not at a computer right now though, just my phone.

Yeah my dad thinks it's just outdated.
