Pain. That's all she felt. Pain. Pain coming from sore wings. Just how long had she been flying? Even she didn't know. She gazed to the ground below. A field of sorts, a bit barren. She could seehouses,sheep, and people. But not what she was looking for. The pain came again. Enough that she nearly fell out of the sky, missing a few trees. But, unable to ignore the pain, she crashed. Crashed beside a large lake close by, tumbling for a bit. She could feel rocks hitting her scars. Sharp, pointy rocks. Tumbling head over heels, before coming to a rest in front of a larger rock, on her right side. Wings lied limp, now even more sore. Pain. That's all she could feel. Now out in the open, raising her head up weakly, looking for anything,anyone, that had seen her fall, as the dirt clouds began to settle.

I had already been surviving on this barren wasteland for so long, I wassurprised to still be alive. Hnnnnn? What was that? I heard the loudcrash far east of my left side. Curious, as always, I ran toward the mysterious sound, hoping for the best.

She winced from the pain, staggering up. Right wing moved, the left one stayed sore. Shook off, then roared from the pain that fallowed. Looking towards the barren land, away from the lake. Did she see something? Something running? It couldn't be. This land was barren all around. She steps forward, tail dragging behind her. The pain that fallowed yet again forced her to lay down. This wasn't home, as she looked out onto the barren lands again, eyes squinted.

Is that... A Dragon? I drew near the creature cautiously, walking on my tiptoes. this Was a bad habit I'd taken up a long time ago. All thisrunning had opened up the nasty blisters on my ankles, and new blood began to well. But I didn't stop until I was standing before the mighty dragon. I could almost see the pain coming off her sore, blood riddled body. "Dear God. Are you okay??" I reached out tentitavely and touched her scaly cheek.

She winced slightly from the touch, too injured to budge otherwise. She looked at who had touched her. Coughing a bit, she found the strength to reply. ''I was okay once. But so much pain...I feel it constantly....I..Just can't ignore it...'' She stuttered, laying her head back down. All this tumbling around had also slightly torn a cloth she had wrapped tightly over a wound on her tail, resting beside her, tip twitching occasionally.

"you poor thing..I'll find a way to help you!" before i had jumped off the boat,I made sure to take things with me. I had stolen an aid kit, which I had been using the scalpel as a weapon. This I took out, examining the contents. The supplies were in good shape.I glanced at the dragon. "may I help you..?" also a habit I had picked up from slavery.

She winced again when the pain struck again. ''Could you...?'' She replied, looking up, coughing a bit. She had flown so much, earning a hint of shyness with a hesitant voice, her injured wings even bearing worn down membranes. She also silently recalled the tumbling, shuddering.

With this Karishi began to fix her up. I first started by cleaning all the wounds I could reach, warning the creature with a quiet,"this may sting alittle.." afer that I applied a pre-made herbal healing cream onto the cleaned flesh. I had to stitch up the badly torn cuts myself, in fear of infection.finally, I took the entire cone of gauze and rewrapped her tail with a fresh amount, also covering the other wounds, be careful to correctly apply it to her stitched ones. The radiating pain began to draw back, and this brought me hope.

When she felt the immense pain gradually dissipate, she shuddered a bit. Finally. ''T..Thanks.'' She replied, folding her still sore wings. ''I was...Going somewhere when...All of a sudden this pain just...Sent me down...''

I sat silently on my knees, listening to the dragon's reply. "oh...? When did this pain start..?" hmm.. The source could be so many things... I have to find a way to stop this horrid pain for her...

''It all started while I was flying high in the sky. I'd been flying..For awhile now, fearing I'd be killed if someone found me resting...My wings were so sore..But I didn't want to land. Then this immense pain rippled through my left wing. First time I barely missed some trees..But....Second time...I fell.'' She replied, moving her broken claws to in front of her, raising her head back up.

"I see..." I nodded slowly, thinking. "your wing could have collapsed on you because of the strain.. Or you could have sprained it due to over use. I'm hoping one of these symptoms.. But it could be anything other than those." I looked away from her fearless gaze, ringing my hands as I did when nervous.

[Gah, browser went crazy]

She nods. ''I know I..Look frightening...But I'm friendly. But....How am I supposed to go anywhere now, with my wings injured?'' She replied sadly. ''I'm going somewhere..But I do not know where. I do not know the exact location, either..'' Getting up weakly, cringing yet again. She looked at the ground, then back to the figure. ''I'm so lost now...I've never been this to a barren land. My name is Kyraniu.''

I smiled sadly, my heart aching for her. "I'm Karishi." I stood up, ignoring the angry red lines on my ankles. Soon they would rim my arms and neck aswell. "I'm sorry this happened.. But.. Maybe you could travel with me? I'm heading to an Oasis. My old Master told me There is one here. I have supplies, although they shrink everyday.and you will have to rest before moving too much." my smile warmed up and I bowed to kyraniu. "please! It would be an honor to lead you to the Oasis..!"

She thought for a bit, then looked at Karishi hopefully. ''Alright, I'll come. Better than laying here for the rest of my life.'' As she bowed her head down, before raising it back up. ''I come from a volcanic region, hot as the blazing sun, life scarce due to the heat. It's so far away now...But I can trust that I'll be safer with you then being out here alone.''

My ocean eyes lit up with happiness. "really? That's amazing!" I reached into my satchel and took out the largest water jug I had. Then I opened the cap and offered some to Kyraniu. "I grew up with two Englishman back north. But my second master dreamed of new places, and while we were sailing, I snuck out of the chains and dove overboard. Then I washed up here!"

''Sounds exciting.'' She replied. ''I'm not really thirsty...Of course, being a fire dragon, water tends to evaporate close to me.'' Then sighs. ''I got separated from my family...'' Cringing at the thought of the fight, where she had earned those three scars across her right side.

I nodded, understanding. I heard her reply as I put the jug away. "oh my goodness... I terribly sorry...!" her comment reminded me of the fact I had never known mine, since my grandmother sold me and all. I looked up at Kyra. "have you seen them since..?"

''Not ever since I got dragged into a family fight...I still dream of that day on those few times I can rest. A nightmare....'' Shuddering, gritting her teeth. ''Gah....Pain..''

"my.... I am truly sorry for your loss Kyraniu..." I could really compare to her there. Because there isn't a day that goes by where I am not tormented by horrid memories. "hopefully we will both find peace soon."
