She nodded, blinking. ''Maybe I'll figure out why I flying in the first place on the way to answering those questions I'm still trying to figure out.'' She replied, red eyes looking at the sky. Where could they be? Were that out there, looking for her as she spoke? She sighed, looking back down. ''Those days..When there was peace. No pain. No fights.'' Smiling shyly, or at least attempting to. ''Nothing but a whisper to me now. Shall we head on ahead..?''
I nodded, shaking the dark thoughts from my mind. "okay!" I put all my things together. "are you strong enough to walk Kyraniu?"
''I..Think..'' She replied, making sure she was standing, before walking around Karishi a bit. Claws dulled from disuse left imprints in the hardened, cracked ground below her. ''A bit slow, still sore from the fall, but strong enough to walk.'' Her coloration nearly hid her within the deathly-like surroundings.
I was pleased to see she could walk. " alright! Lets head out. But if you feel any pain we'll stop and rest, okay?" I smiled. Kyra needn't have any more problems than what was currently bothering her.
''Alright.'' She replied, fallowing Karishi. ''This land looks like it used to be fertile, but for some reason the grasses died out, making way for a desert. I haven't seen anything living here besides you and myself. A few humans while flying close by, but once I was here I saw nothing.'' She had only walked a few steps before it struck her again. Pain. Coming from her left wing. She stumbled, ignoring it.
I glanced at her worriedly, but decided to keep quiet as we continued on. "yeah.. Maybe a drought or something. This land might have had crops in it a long time ago.."
She nodded in agreement. ''Bet it was pretty, too. Humans harvesting what was here, animals eating the grass, crops and feilds.'' She replied, and stumbles again, almost falling down, before staggering back up. ''How could an oasis be in a place like this? So barren..''
Seeing her trip again only made my worry grow. But Kyra hasnt said anything. So she must really want to keep walking.. "hmm..? Yes.. I'm surprised. But often in deserts there is a tiny well or puddle. And all it takes is a single seed or dying plant to create an Oasis."
Then she collapsed, landing on her right side away from Karishi, wincing. ''Ugh....It does? I've never seen one...'' And weakly gets back up,ignoring the unsightly visibly torn joint in her left wing, causing it to hang at the left side to her feet. ''I didn't see any oasis when I flew, unless I was flying too high to see it.''
"here, let me wrap up your wing..." I walked around her and covered the injured wing with some linkage, using the rest of the gauze to wrap it tightly. "any better?" hmm.. Maybe she was flying too high... I sure hope so..
She grits her teeth in great pain. ''Yes. I think that's whats been causing the extreme pain.'' She remarked. Hopefully she was right. This barren land was hot, the ground cracked, the lake far behind now. ''So you washed up on a beach somewhere here?''
"yes." I continued on, making sure Kyra was okay. "but it was far from here. I've been walking for a very long time now."
''You seem brave to have crossed these lands without getting hurt too badly.'' She said, chuckling.
"aheh..." i blushed, smiling. "I was simply lucky to have brought things with me..." I cut open a smal cactus and refilled the small jug quickly."we'll need all the water we can get."
She nods. ''This desert seems to be never ending. Sure is a large expanse of dried dirt with cracked grounds.'' She inquired, not bothered from the heat due to her volcanic nature. ''Now I'm hungry...''
"I can catch you something if you wish?" I looked at her. " I'm afraid my satchel wont have enough to satisfy..."
She shakes her head. ''I can wait. Surely the Oasis is close to being found...'' At least she hoped so. The sun was just now starting to sink into the horizon, turning orange with shades of pink, purple, red and yellow painted into a line that extended away from the horizon.
"yes! The Oasis should be really close!" I couldn't wait unroll we finally got there..."once were there, you'll heal quickly, and we will get plenty of food!" I remember Master telling me the Oasis was big. really big.
She silently nods in agreement, before raising up onto her hind legs to look out into the distance, claws tucked under her. ''I still see tons of of desert, along with the sun setting. I think I saw some holes in the sand from above. Holes that looked like they had collapsed inwards..''
"oh, I know. Tuesdays plenty of caves here. I'll find one for us!" I looked around, scanning the horizon as the sun sank ever slowly.
