Taunter (played by Copper_Dragon)

(OoC: Three to the door at a time, please! And yes, you can be a non-Pokemon character. ;3)

Even on All Hallows Eve the small two-story home with a white-picket fence and beige paint was quaint. Covered in festive plastic pumpkins and witches, not to mention the two jack-o-lanterns by the doorsteps, and fake cats lounged in windows; spooooky paper ghosts were hung in the trees, little festive gnomes lined the stone walkway to the porch, and everything was warm and inviting.

.... the house's current resident, however, wasn't quite that way. His owner and her uncle had left for a party an hour prior to now, bearing a very firm warning to the dark purple ghost not to open the door and not to give out candy this year. They had even left the bowl with a note by the door for any and all trick-or-treaters.

As if that would stop Taunter, however. Twenty minutes after the mortals' departure, the Haunter had snatched up the bowl, downed a few pieces of candy (he knew there was more stashed away in an emergency), and devoured the note asking each child to take only two pieces. Ooooh this was going to be a grand Halloween this year, of that the toxic ghost would be most certain!
Sammi Rios (played by Virus)

Young Sammi Rios was at this moment was 10 years, 3 months, 4 days, 9 hours and twenty minutes old - and not a moment older when she rang the doorbell that belonged a quaint house in her neighborhood. "Twick oh Tweat!!!" young Sammi said, her cheeks rosy and her Contest Idol Lisia costume as stunning as the real deal. She was being escorted by her one and only pokemon, Faust the Metagross, given to her by her older cousin Emil, to all the houses to get candy this halloween. This was her first time and she was brimming with excitement, "Isn't this fun Faust? I love my costume daddy made me!" she exclaimed, her voice growing gradually higher in pitch till she all but squealed with laughter.

The Metagross she rode on was less than enthused, mostly due to the fact it had been forced to wear a degrading Altaria costume. Half of him was coving in feathers while the other half was covered in Cottonee cotton.

The two waited by the door for someone to come with some candy. Sammi had already hit every other house on the street and had quite the load in her 4 bags, she was just that adorable at this age.
Yora (played anonymously)

Prowling the streets was a slight-but-gangly dark boy in a crumpled rubber werewolf mask, with navy, wavy hair and alert, dark and darting eyes. The costume itself was the bare minimum required for such a character type: hurriedly, sloppily torn jeans and an oversized, dirtied plaid shirt.

The haul of the evening had been good - slung proudly over the boy's shoulder was a pillowcase full of endless bite-sized candy pieces, four popcorn balls, and one gloriously full-sized chocolate bar.

And only some spoils had been ill-gotten, this year.

He'd paused before approaching the final house, and regarded the regarded the Metagross with a tilt of his head that seemed rather in-character, considering his costume. What was its costume? A Mareep? Though its human's costume was comparatively well-done.

But Yora wasn't here to admire costumes. He had only one objective on his mind.

He scampered up, sidled next to the two, managed to shout a hurried 'TRICK OR TREAT' at the charming house, a moment after the other child had.

The door to the house went flying open with such a force that the source behind it surely couldn't be human (or perhaps, not muggle).

Sure enough, it proved to be not when Taunter appeared, taking up almost the entirety of the doorway. Aside from his bizarre coloration (which even then wasn't that off compared to even a shiny Haunter), there was nothing remarkable about the ghost. Even the nasty rictus grin upon his visage was perfectly normal for the species.

...except for the raspy, slightly high-pitched voice that projects from a mouth full of sharp purple teeth.

"Weeelllcome to the house of hooorr-- oh hell." That's right about the moment the Haunter had noticed there was a Metagross on the porch. The Altaria costume it wore should have gotten a loud, uproarious laugh out of the ghost, but instead he just looked perfectly annoyed to be in the presence of one of Hoenn's psuedo-legendaries.

"Ugh. Yeah, yeah, here's your candy," Taunter grumped as he fished out some pieces from the bowl balanced in his other hand. The candy-bearing hand, given its lack of arms, reached way out to Sammi's bag to deposit it's load. Then it retracted and repeated the process for Yora. "At least you've been interesting. Everyone else decided to go with pink princesses or Iron Golurks this year," he adds somewhat conversationally.

Oh, and as a side note, while the candy was perfectly harmless, the wrappers...well, having been in the hands of a Haunter, the wrappers smell off.
The Snail (played by Kim)

Speaking of off smells... Slightly to the right of the porch, there is a mushroom-cloud eruption of musty, cloying fog. It dissipates, leaving an extremely startled and very large snail in its place. It stares with wide, wet eyes at the costumed children and the candy-giving ghost.

"HEllooOOOo?" it gurgles. It seems to have some issues with volume control -- it is shouting though the children are just feet away.
Sammi Rios (played by Virus)

Sammi made a disgusted face as the smell of the candies emanated from one of her bags, "Eww, stinky!" Sammi said as she pinched her tiny fingers to her cute nose. "I'm not coming heww next yeaw!" Sammi complained as Faust carry her back home. It was then that Sammi saw The Snail, "Aw! What a cute Sliggoo costume!" Sammi said as they passed The Snail by, "Happy halloween Mistew Sliggoo!!!" Sammi giggled to herself as she waved, Faust was determined to get her home before bedtime.

((Go ahead and post, Sammi is gone for now! XD))

The funny colored Haunter cackled at Sammi's retreat, more pleased by her reaction to the candy wrappers than the prospect of taking a Meteor Mash to the face.

...but now that left him with the boy in the werewolf mask and... what in the world was that? Distracted by the sudden appearance of the Snail, Taunter floated right past Yora, leaving a very faint trail of purplish and pale green gasses in his wake.

It smelled a little like petrol.

"HaaAAUnt!" the ghost squawked elegantly at the large gastropod. One large, four-fingered, clawed hand reached out to grab and gently tug on one of its eye stalks. It wasn't a wise thing to do, but it was a very Taunter thing to do.
The Snail (played by Kim)

The snail, perhaps unsurprisingly, is not a creature of speed. Its eyestalk begins to lean gently out of the way as Taunter makes a snatch for it, and then is grabbed anyway. Its flesh is smooth, rubbery, and covered in a sticky goop. When pulled, the stalk stretches to an almost absurd degree.

The eye atop the captured stalk continues to stare directly into Taunter's face, wide and wet and obviously confused. The other eye rotates to stare at the werewolf, this one with a much more placid expression.

"What's a haunt?" the thing gurgles in a voice so wet and slow it sounds like a drowning Eeyore. "I smell something sweet. I want sweet."
Yora (played anonymously)

"I'd be impressed with a princess Golurk. See someone pull that off." He certainly didn't talk quite like a boy - but a theatrical grin to rival the Haunter's own spread across the boy's face as he collected his spoils.

"Think this is 'interesting!' Just wait 'til - hold it-!" The growing patter, however, was interrupted rather spectacularly by the sudden (and smelly) appearance of the snail.

"Y'don't know what a haunt is?" Incredulous - and rather put-out, Yora listened to the conversation (and reflexively cringed at the proximity of so much noxious air). Surreptitiously sniffed at it, head angled slightly. And then did what he'd figured any curious kid would do.

He carefully poked the snail with a stick.

Fascinated with the stretchiness of the Snail's eyestalk, Taunter continued to tug on it for several seconds more before the demand for something sweet came up. Still grinning the ever present, ever malicious smile, the Haunter released the poor creature's eye and floated past Yora to return to the candy bowl.

"Aaaw be nice to it--if that's not a greeeat costume," the ghost & poison Pokemon scolds, "some of us don't have that good of a grasp on your stupid languages." Owch. 'Us' obviously meant all of Pokemon-kind, though as Taunter came floating back to the pair with the bowl of candy, he was having his doubts that this was one of their own at all!
The Snail (played by Kim)

Its flesh is soft and squishy when poked, but it results in the creature retracting halfway into its shell with surprising speed and a SCHLOOMP sound.

Why only halfway? Probably because Taunter is still holding onto the snail's eyestalk, which is now stretched to a rather absurd and painful looking degree. The moment it's released, it vanishes the rest of the way into its shell with an additional FWOOMP.

Its voice echoes out from within the shell, as if it is shouting from a deep cavern. "Be careful out there, doggy and flying slug! Something is hitting."
