The waygate's tear was like an open wound, festering and bleeding into the landscape around it. Trees' once green leaves turned a sickly grey-yellow, the bark a stark white and the ground as though molten with mud. He navigated through the foreign landscape with ease, pack rattling against his back. With his intentions to travel now no longer delayed, he had little need for the oversized scarab beetle-like creatures that he ordinarily used to pull the carriage. They would be best off released, allowed to fend for themselves. It had taken him a good four days to gauge the 'gate. With all of his own magic gone and rendered useless, cauterised four centuries ago, he set to work instead using a handful of the instruments and artefacts that he had been intent on selling. Measuring and assessing, allowing him to come to the conclusion that it was safe to travel through. Only once. There would be no return. Not this way at any rate.
The world he crossed over to in a whirl of arcane cantrips, sigils and designs flared. The terrain that he came through was on the fringes of a village, judging by the twisting smoke plumes coming from just over the hill. Easily within walking distance. Ensuring that the black rag was bound over the goggles with darkened lenses, the shrouding, dusty cloak paired well with the shirt, black pants and buckled leather shoes catering to those clawed feet. His tail was raised partway from the ground, 'lest it drag, before he set himself on the path into town. To the nearest Inn was his goal; somewhere to rest that was not rough and dirty, was pleasant.

Unfortunately the village Gersham was approaching as made up mostly of rather fearful and distrusting humans. As Gersham drew nearer to the village he'd passed several farms with people working them, mosly un aware of the basilisc's presence. As Gershm went deeper into the village several people gave him glares or dirty looks, others seemed startled and did their best to stay out of his way.
After a few moments the local inn/tavern came into view, with a few drunkards stumbling around outside, heading about their business. Roxxie, a young girl who was secretly a werewofl was inside currently in the middle of a drinking challenge with some large bulky soldier. They both guzzled their drinks from their mugs. It was very clear they were both fairly drunk, but the soldier slowly began to look more and more sick as the drinks continued. It wasn't long before the soldier lost the challenge, hurling up the contents of his stomach. "Oh yeah! Queen of the Bar continues her rein!"Roxxie shouted energetically, nearly on the verge of vomitting herself, however her nausea didn't stop her from ordering another drink and guzzling it down triumphantly.

Gers' had come across humanoids before. His homeworld had been readily populated with them, but the attitude there to other races had mellowed, compared to where he now found himself. Mindful of the stares and avoidance, he kept himself as obscured as his anatomy would allow.
At least when it came to the tavern, he had coin enough to secure himself a room, and the Innkeeper was blessedly pragmatic enough to not turn away someone willing to pay, or over-pay if he could weasel the tall male out of more. The contest was watched steadily, before a spiked 'brow rose as she came over back towards the bar. "Water will prevent you regretting that in the morning."

At first Roxxie was going to respond by telling Gersham not to tell her what to do, and would most likely go off on some rant about something non sensical to him, before she turned to face him. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. "Y-You're real *hic* right?"She managed to sayShe would admit it, she was drunk as all hell, but she wasn't drunk to the point of seeing things. She wasn't scared of the basilisclike several others but she was certainly surprised by it.
The better part of his face was still shrouded by the cloak, but once she noticed, he finally drew back his hood to better expose his features. Long oil-black hair that seemed naturally lank, grey scaled-flesh with dark grey, nearly black markings on his ears. Small spikes were present on his eyebrow ridges and high on the middle of his forehead, on the hairline. There was a glint of gold in his 'lobes - 2" plugs with jet - while a small ring also of gold was home through his septum. A faint smirk played on his lips at that, and he hardly seemed surprised at her response.
Most at least, tended to pass him off as a Tiefling; that race at least had a proven record of being capable of being more pleasant than they looked. Close enough. "I am real, yes." A clawed hand moved to lightly, briefly, touch the wrist nearest to him as if to prove such before retracting the contact.

Roxxie blinked, looking at Gersham clearly confused. "Oh... okay."She replied. "So... what are you?"She asked. She didn't really wait for Gersham's reply before purchasing a few more drinks, guzzling them down quickly before resting her head on the counter, soon falling asleep.
He looked faintly amused at the question then, outwardly at least, but he showed no sign that he had taken possible offence to it. "I am a reptilian humanoid." Not a lie, but not entirely truthful; basilisks' generally had quite the ill reputation amongst most races, hence perhaps why he kept his eyes covered. He had just been about to ask perhaps why she was there, or if she had heard any interesting rumours as of late, but by the time he turned back from ordering his own drink, she had fallen asleep.
At least arranging the Innkeeper to move her to her own room, was not difficult.

Roxxie had been moved with no trouble. The girl was left in her bed, tossing and turning as the moon rose. Unfortunately the girl had failed to keep up with the moon phases, as tonight was a full moon, the only night where she was forcibly turned into her werewolf form. She was a surprisingly deep sleeper, having remained asleep even as her body grew, tearing through her clothes.
Gersham, unfortunately, was a light sleeper. As much as the meal had been filling, the drinks refreshing and the overall atmosphere of the tavern not too unpleasant, the walls were frustratingly thin. He had already been kept awake by the rather enthusiastic tryst going on to the room to his right, and t'was then that he heard the sound of creaking and rattling from the bed-frame that did not have any rhythmic pattern to it. Frowning, he then moved, unlocking his own quarters before moving to knock soundly on hers. "Lady, are you alright?" Loud enough for her to hear, but not enough to rouse the whole corridor.
By now Roxxie's transformation was complete. Her arms and legs hung over the side of the bed. Surprisingly the lycan was still asleep. After a few minutes of silence the bed underneath her began to creak. The wood made popping and cracking sounds as the legs snapped with the bed hitting the floor with a loud thud. The sudden downward motion mixed with the thud woke Roxxie up. She sat up, looking around the room, until she noticed the moon outside her window. She let out an audible sound that was somewhere between an angered growl and a frustrated sigh.
Thankfully at this time of night most of the villagers and visitors would be asleep, allowing Roxxie an unhindered escape. She collected her things and went to open the door, unaware of Gersham's presence. She opened the door, with her eyes widening. She looked down at Gersham, quickly getitng a worried expression on her face and backing away from the door, fully expecting the basilisk to attack her.

Oop: uh I figure she'd be 7 to 8 feet tall. And sorry for the late reply. Didn't know you'd posted.
