"Well, for one, I need to get into without anyone noticing me. And two, you're the only person around that isn't trying to kill me." She pokes his cheek. "Honk."
"Get into where?" Archer asked. "And could you please stop poking me for now?" He then walked to the side, thinking it over.
"Easthaven of course! It's the only town that I can't get into without someone trying to shoot me!" She smiled, clasping her hands behind her back. "And yes milord, I shall stop poking you." She curtseyed slightly for no apparent reason.
"Ok... Why are they trying to shoot you?" Archer asked. "Did you do something to make them not like you?" He then turned to face her. "And why do you want to go there, anyways?"
"I used to live there, I was born there. In fact, I am the general's daughter, but I kinda ran away and I killed a few people to get out. Now they don't like me and the general said that if anyone saw me, that they were to shoot me on sight." She says, her voice wavering slightly. 'Damn.... How much will I have to tell this guy to get him to help me?' She sighs slightly, not wanting to tell him anymore.
"So your own father wants you dead. That's pleasant..." Archer said, crossing his arms across his chest. "But you still haven't told me why you want to go back. They want to kill you, so why go back? I still-" He cut off, turning away. "Why do you want to go back?"
"I want to get my mother's watch.... It's the only thing that's left of her." She responds, her voice shaking softly. She lowers herself to the ground, trying to shake away the dizziness. "I only want the watch, it's worth going back, at least to me it is." The clock on the wall starts ticking loudly, matching her heart beat.
'Good. She didn't notice my slip just then.' Archer thought as he un-crossed hi arms. He knelt down next to her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I'll escort you and help you get the watch." he said.
"Ok, thank you. Also, what did you mean by, I still?" She asks curiously.
"It's nothing." Archer said as he stood up and walked towards the door. "Let's just go."
She nods softly, standing up slowly. "May I ask your name, Milord?"
"Call me Archer." he said as he opened the door and walked outside.
"Will do Sir Archer. I'm Eve-- I mean Rebekah." She stutters slightly, hoping he didn't notice her slip.
"Just call me Archer. I don't have a title." he said. 'So, she too had a slip up. Guess we're even now.' he thought to himself, deciding not to press for her name.
"Alright, Si-- Archer." She nods politely, sighing in relief that he isn't pressing for her name.
Archer stopped outside. He turned to her. "So, where is the town?" he asked.
Evelina points in the opposite direction of the town. "That way! Wait..... Damn it!" She sits on the ground in frustration, realizing that she has no sense of direction. 'Why am I an idiot, I pointed right when it's to the left.... At least I think it is...' She growls, mumbling to herself about having no sense of direction and how she should just stab herself until she remembers which way it actually is.
"Is it the closest town to here?" Archer asked. "If not, then we could get directions from there." He then turned away. "General Joe, I need your assistance." he said, seemingly to himself. Suddenly, a dark, shadowy figure appeared next to Archer, arms behind it's back. "I need your men to find the closest town." he told the figure. The figure nodded before melting into the ground. Archer turned back Rebekah and sat down. "Now we wait."
"It's about 39 miles away I think....." She sighs, curling into a small ball, wanting to dismantle a clock.
Archer nodded as he started tracing his finger through the grass. A few minutes later, a shadowy form appeared. Archer stood up. "Come on, let's go. They found the town." he said as he walked over to her, taking hold of her arm.
