Concept: A young girl dove behind a wide cedar trunk just off the trail. Heart slamming against her ribs, she gulped at the air, trying to slow her breathing enough to hear. Back in the shadows, branches thrashed and snapped as General Shadowsword growled sharp orders to his men. Sunset had finally drained out of the sky overhead, sheathing the woods in shadow. She pressed her face against the bark, the ridges biting into her skin as she tried to become one with the tree. Who will be the one to find her?

Alex looked wound for the generals prize, wondering why she was so important . He came around a tree, squinting into the dark with only slivers of moonlight to help him see. He put a hand on the trunk, only to find that it was soft, and somewhat warm.

Evelina jumps slightly, squinting slightly. She jumps to the side, quickly spinning around the tree to stand behind the man. "Mew?" She asks confused, not knowing if she can trust the man or not.

He turned to face her, looking surprised."You!" he whispered, actually looking at her. She was actually rather cute. He looked around to see if any of the other men were near, then took her hand, shushing her and leading her away from the men that were chasing her.

She looks at him in confusion, deciding that she can trust him. "Umm... Excuse me, but may I ask your name Milord?" She whispers, keeping her voice hushed.

"Alex Jones" he whispered, leading her away and crouching in the bushes. He looked around, seeing that the others were still unaware that they were missing. He led her back to his horse and got on it, lifting her up to sit behind him

She nods softly, draping her arms around his waist casually, not wanting to fall off the horse. "I'm Eve--- I mean Rebekah." She stutters, realizing that she has to use her alias. "Where are we headed?"

"Away from here" he said, urging the horse on away from the unsuspecting group, toward the port, the smell of sea salt already faint on the air. The horse went down a hill, and they heard it. The loud yell of anger and disbelief. His treachery had been realized. He urged the horse faster to the coast.

"Don't go to fast! It'll tire the horse out!" She says, hearing the people run after them. 'Oh I hope they don't catch up with us...' She whispers softly to herself. "Sir Alex, why are you helping me?"

He tried not to push the horse as much, but they had a good lead on them, and couldn't catch up in time as they arrived at the port, a ship getting ready to depart. Alex dismounted and helped Rebekah down. "I'm doing it because I have too" he told her, leading her to the ship, digging in his pocket for a few coins to pay for their fare.

Rebekah tilted her head, following after him. "You don't have too Milord, you know that as well as I do." She responds in a hushed voice, speeding up her pace to catch up with him. Rebekah pulls 7 coins out of a small handbag that she had tied around her waist. She hands the coins to Alex, "I still don't understand why you are helping me, Milord."

He refused her coins, telling her to save them in case she needed them for later. He paid their fare and led her below deck."yes, that may be true, but, all I can say is that you are extremely important" he said as the boat began casting off. "Everything will be explained in time" he said, resting in the last open hammock. He then remembered her."Oh, sorry, did you want this seat?" he asked, getting up.

She shook her head, "No you can have it. My dress was going to get dirty anyways." She smiles politely and sits on the ground, her pastel orange dress flaring out around her. "Besides, you were there first."

"I won't let a lady sit on the floor. Please, take the hammock." he moved away, refusing to go back over to it. He was actually very interested in her. She seemed to be a very unique individual indeed. He found himself looking at her longer than usual. He looked away, hoping she didn't notice.

"And I won't let a man give up his seat for me." She says staring him in the eyes. 'Why are his eyes so pretty?' She thinks to herself as she played with the hem of her dress.

"Its anyones seat" he told her, looking her in the eyes as well. He didn't move, rather, he watched her play with her dress, wanting her to take the hammock." Why won't you just take the seat?" he asked."At this rate, we'll both be sleeping on the floor" he told her as the ship swayed back and forth on the waves.

"Why don't we share? It would be better than both of us sleeping on the floor." She suggests, knowing that he probably still insist that she take the hammock. "That's the last option."

He thought about it, then reluctantly agreed. He had to admit that it had crossed his mind before, but he wasn't sure whether or not to bring it up. "You could lay on me, then just sleep like that" he said, getting up and offering her his hand, the swaying hammock swaying gently as if it were waiting for them

She gently takes his hand, using it to pull herself up. She trips over her dress, falling back on the floor. 'Damn dresses....' She mutters. She sits up, wiping some dirt off her face. "My bad..."

"It is fine" he took her hand gently but firmly, helping her to her feet, finding the two of them rather close. "You alright?" he asked, wiping a smidge of dirt that she had missed from her face.
