OH MY GOSH! I absolutely hate glass. When I get my own house there will be no breakable glass! Nine! All my cups will be plastic! I cannot deal with my fear of it!!!
Why am I so fearful of glass? Well this morning, my cat knocked over a glass cup and it shattered on the floor. I thought I cleaned it all up!

Well, just a few hours ago ,I was putting together a story book of my characters and their bios, I got up to get a drink of water and I stepped on this tiny piece of glass. I freaked out because when I was younger I actually almost died because of glass going through my arm. I cannot stand glass. Even though it was the tiniest thing, it felt like a million pens were driving through my flesh! Gosh!

Please tell me I'm not alone :(
Nope my friend youre not alone but the thing is there's glass everywhere...why I hate it? Well when I was little I went to the park with ky familu and the grass was fresh since it was just done raining but then I decided to run to the tree and back to the playground barefooted. So when I was nearing the tree I stepped on this piece of glass that cut the bottom of my foot leading me to get stitches 8 to be exact.. -_-

so no youre not alone.
As a stained glass artist, I'm the total opposite. I love glass!

I've had plenty of shards in my feet and fingers, but when I was first learning the art in high school, my instructor accidently left a sheet of it sticking off one of the shelves, and I was running back to my cabinet to grab my safety glasses, and it snagged the skin on my forearm, ripped it alllll the way past my elbow. Thought I was gonna die. And yet 5 years later, here I am!

Glass is an unavoidable substance in life. Your windows will be glass, and they can be broken. It seems unhealthy to me to harbor such an intense fear of it, because that most likely amplifies the pain for you. Small shards you didn't see at first sting but they don't kill and they're definitely not what I'd describe as being extremely painful. I've had numerous shards stuck in my feet and hands since I've owned cats, but that's just life. Pull them out with tweezers, clean the wound and put a bandage on it and after 15 minutes you will have forgotten all about it in my experience.

Instead of avoiding it, there are handy tips and tricks that will help you clean up broken glass more efficiently. I always vacuum my floor two to three times when glass breaks, on the highest settings after I picked up and swept the large pieces. That does the trick for me. I found a useful article with additional tips though:

Using a slice of soft sandwich bread appears to be the most favorable tip to clean up invisible bits and pieces.
