The Jackal screeched as Javik kicked it's leg. It growled at Javik clearly being unable to communicate with you as the Jackal could only speak in growls.

The tower was going into panic as they made their way in. An emergency was sent to the cruiser saying they needed help. Eight phantoms came down out side dropping six ghosts and two more shade turrets. They released many elites, grunts, jackals and four more hunters. There biggest concern was the flood inside the facility. The Krogan and his squad came under fire from five elites and two grunts. The grunts had fuel rods while the elites had needlers and plasma rifles. Two of them held two plasma rifles laying suppressing fire onto their foes. The zealot was in the next room cloaked and watching the door. Four cloaked elites waited in the room armed with needlers to deal with the intruders and take them by surprise.

Javik growled when the JAckal didn't respond. He grabbed the Jackal by the throat with a biotic pulse surging through the two. "Speak, or I'll break your neck like a child breaks a twig."Javik demanded, having used one of his kinds' abilties and learning the Jackal's language through the conact, though he wasn't capable of speaking in the language due to physiological differences.


Paana had taken cover with Alice while Sokadrak was with Naal behind some sort of obelisk sticking out of the ground, and ZK and Riisart were taking cover behind another obelisk. Paana looked around the room, soon finding some kind of device dangling from the ceiling. "Alice, help me pull that down."Paana said. "Alright. I assume we're gonna throw it at them?"Alice asked recieving a nod. The two gripped onto the device with their Biotics before ripping it from the cieling and throw it at the grunts.

The Jackal let off some loose growls as it approached passing out. The translation would be, "We are the Covenant." The Jackal was showing all signs of weakness as it would likely die soon.

The grunts and elites looked in shock as the pillar was thrown at them. Being squashed against the wall their blood running freely. As they proceed inside the next room. The zealot watches invisible as they wonder in. With a growl the other elites start fireing in their direction. The shots will be hard to track as the zealot watches from on top of the flood tank.

"I don't care who you are! Why have you attacked us?"JAvik questioned, recieving a confused lookfrom Liara. Javik sighed. "We are communicating."He told her, rolling his eyes.


Alice yelped as plasma bolts flew passed her. She set up a biotic barrier, with the bolts hitting the barrier. "Where the hellare those blasts coming from?!"Naal questioned, quickly getting into the barrier, firing his phaeston wildly. His bullets flew passed the elites, as did the others', with most of the squad being unable to locate the elites. Zk watched the bolts hit the barrier, and the multitude of programs that made up his consciousness buzzed into action, calculating the trajectory, angle, and speed of the bolts, eventually pinpointing the location of one of the elites. He fired his pulse rifle hitting the elite, making it momentarily visible. The others' saw the Elite becomevisible and shifted their aim, shooting at it.

The Jackal seemed to cackle as Javik interrogated him. He made some more noises with translated to. "For the Great Journey." He then weakly laughs taunting Javik.

Two of the cloaked elites where taken down thanks to ZK. The zealot realized it was the synthetic and became enraged. Activating his energy sword he leapt down and swung at the Geth. Narrowly moving out of the way in time his chest was sliced. The energy swords burning plasma blade burnt the coolant to harden as the zealot moved from the Geths vision. With quick agility he slashed the krogans shot gun cutting off the front of the barrel enough to lower it's range but the weapon could still function. The zealot kept with his tactic of attacking and slipping away.

Javik groaned. "Let me guess, this great journey will allow you to 'ascend to a higher plane of existance'?"Javik asked rolling his eyes.

Sokadrak roared angrily, swinging his hammer around after his shot gun was sliced apart. Despite the energy swords' power it was not enough to cut through the hammer, which was of purely krogan design and was made to last. Paana soon caught onto the Zealot's tactic. She sent otu a biotic shockwave, it wasn't enough to really do damage, but it would reveal the Zealot long enough for Sokadrak to see it and swing his hammer into it. The shockwave staggered the others, including the zealot, momentarily making him visible. Sokadrak growled when he saw the elite, ramming into him instead of swinging his hammer. The krogran pinned the elite to the wall, headbutting the zealot repeatedly.

The Jackal seemed to laugh as Javik seemed to be catching onto it's words. Weakly it reached down to it's leg and out of a hard sachet pulled out a plasma grenade. Giving off a hissing like laugh the Jackal activated the grenade.

The zealot was slammed into the wall and suffered some internal damage from the headbutt. The other two elites started firing at Sokadrak. This would take his attention away from the zealot atleast for a second. The Krogans aggressive nature would lead him to tack and beat the other elites to death. The zealot went to attack the Quarian.

"Excellent."Javik groaned. "Biotic Barrier! NOW!"He ordered, forming a green barrier around the Jackal. Soon a blue one formed as well. Thankfully the two barriers were enough to hold in the blast, though the barriers had weakened significantly.

Sokadrak released the Zealot and barreled in the directions of the shots, managing to ram into one of the other elites. Naal noticed the flickering image of the zealot approaching him before it entirely disappeared. He activated his omni tool and pressed a few buttons before an electrical pulse was shot at the Zealot. Suddenly the Zealot's camo began to flicker and fade, as did his energy sword, with the blade repeatedly deactivating and reactivating due to Naal's Sabotage. "He's there! Shoot or use your biotics or something!"Naal shouted firing at the Zealot. Alice took her chance and launched a biotic shockwave at the Zealot, hitting it and sending it flying.

The Jackal exploded inside the barriers. The barriers had the soupy mess of the now destroyed Jackal. He had avoided giving them any critical information but still some to go off.

As the remaining elites were beat to death the zealot was pushed through the thick glass. With his shields taken down the impact on top of the injuries he received from the Krogan were enough to kill him. Now inside the strange mist his body layed there bleeding beneath the armor. As Naal and the others took a breather the zealot started to shake slightly. His body was twitching and then started shaking violently. The others looked at him and saw what skin was showing started to turn to a rotted moldy green colour. His right arm began to shake and two whip like appendages burst out. One from his palm the other above his hand. The zealot shaking stood up and his neck seemed to brake and dislocate. The other exposed corpses began to shake and go under a similar mutation.

"Husks?!"Naal shouted surprised. "I thought husks need dragon's teeth to be converted."Riisart said. "Well evidently these don't. RUN!"Paana declared, heading out the way the ycame followed by the rest of their squad.

These infected elites stood up and let out a deep blood curling growl. Seeing the other none infected people they charged. With the tank broken spores began to fly over the facility. As Naal and the others ran through the door they saw The other dead elites began to mutate and stand. The sentinels began to fly in and use their beams on the infected. leaping up the infected elites struck down the sentinels. The grunts started to be infected but with minimal effect they mainly started rotting and becoming more blobs of rotting flesh. The infected zealot tackled forward and began striking the Salarian trying to remove his suit. As the flood began to spread throughout the facility they went to lower levels shattering glass tanks releasing more spores and infection forms on lower levels. At the front of the tower the covenant blockade out front was fighting off infected as even they up there started to be infected.

Riisart yelped, narrowly avoid the tackle. He turned, still running backwards, he pressed several buttons and soon a duplicate of hismelf fazed into existance further back to the flood, hopefully enough to atleast confuse them. If that didn't work than he also had his incinerate ability. "I would recodmend moving at an increased pace! The air is quickly becoming over run with contaminents. Paana glanced back at the group. So far only she and Riisart weren't wearing helmets, plenty of which had rebreathers or a life support system. "I'm going to see if I can zip Riisart and myself out of here quicker."Paana said, falling back and grabbing onto Riisart. Soon the two dissappeared in ablue mist, reapearing several meters ahread of the rest of the group, before disappearing in the same blue mist.

"Alright, guess that leaves me in char-"Sokadrak said before being cut off by Alice. "Comander. What's your rank?"She asked. The krogan growled. "General."He muttered. "That's what I thought."Alice said. "ZK! NAAL! Sokadrak, you three continue advancing until you're out, I'll do my best to hold them off." Alice shouted. "That will not be necessary."Zk said, pulling out a few proximity mines, before tossing them to the floor. "Any hostiles that pass over those mines will be obliterated."ZK replied as the small squad slowly made itsway to the cave's entrance.

This out brake was quickly getting out of hand. Most of the covenant in the area had been infected and the sentinels being taken down. However the flood were showing no sign of strategy instead they were more feral and aggressive. An infected elite leaped forward and was blown up by one of the mines. One leaped over the mines but this triggered two of them. Blowing it in half. As the upper body of the infected elite landed inside of it being all liquefied.

Inside the cruiser the elites had shut off the gravity lift and were preparing to glass the area. "Ship master the intruders have released the flood. They are spreading under ground and will have access to the whole world. We Must contain the ones on the surface by glassing them." A elite commander on the ship spoke with the ship master. "Very well. Burn the tower and everything on the surface there for three four kilometers." "Yes sir." The cruiser began to gain elevation and the circle under neath it started to glow. As it got to roughly two kilometers up the circle fired a massive energy beam. This massive energy blast burnt the surface where the flood where emerging incinerating anything and everything near by and turning the ground to glass. It blasted the whole area even the caves. Naal and his group got just out of range to avoid the main blast but they still got hit by the massive heat. The ship then went above the tower and fired. The tower melted away and began to collapse being melted down to kill any flood with in it or on the surface. However with the millions of tunnels under the planet the flood would spread rapidly and be converting the underground into a hive within hours.The flood threat would soon reach the Normandy's crew as spores and infection forms where released all over.

Paana's crew watched the ship glass the area. "Quite sad."Riisart said. "What is? All the stuff beign burnt?"Sokadrak asked. Riisart shook his head."I was unable to take any samples."He replied. "Maybe that's for the best."Paana replied. "C'mon. Let's get back to the ship and warn the others."She said heading back to the normandy.

By now much of the crew of the normandy had a camp set up. "Well, I've got good news and bad news." Garrus said to Joker over the comms. "What's the bad news?"Joker asked. "Well, the metal sky mixed with the enngine's damage, we won't be leaving the planet any time soon."Garrus said. "And the good news?"Joker asked. "We might be able to get the ship atleast flight worthy relatively soon."Garrus said. "That and we do still have a shuttle or two in the hangar."Garrus added. "Well, it's better than nothing."Joker replied.

The burning of the tower was a sad thing to do for the covenant. However they knew the flood were by far more of a threat and needed to be destroyed. On the lower levels the infestation was going well. The infection forms were making their way through and there were several combat forms. The infection forms were scurrying along the ground looking for hosts. The bodies that were too small such as grunts and jackals were moved into a main chamber for storage. But storage for what? The covenant ships were begin to wonder what to do.

"What are we to do ship master? The flood will quickly take over most of the planet especially with our numbers. Is it ok for us to remain here?" One of the zealots asks it's commander. "We will remain in side our ships. As long as we have the men surrounded in a secure area and we glass everywhere the flood emerge to the surface." The commander had a torn look on his face. He wanted to get relics off the planet but he didn't want to remain here with the flood.

By now the Polyanthus crew had made its way back to the Normandy. "Who was in charge while we were gone?"Paana asked one of the troops outside the normandy. "Garrus took over, why?"The trooper asked. "We need to talk to him. Kee pan eye open for husks"She said heading to the Normandy. "Riisart, go onto the Polyanthsu and get our helmets."She ordered. "Garrus?!"Paana called. "Check the engineering deck."Joker said over the comms. Without hesitation Paana headed down to the engineering deck to find Garrus. Soon she found the sniper. "When's the soonest you can get this ship up and running?"She asked. "Uh.... two to three hours. Minimum. Why?"Garrus asked. "There was some kind of gas that turned those aliens that attacked us into husks."Paana said. "That's impossible. Husks need Dragons teeth to be huskified. Plus a husk can't operate without a reaper,. Not only did we not have any reapers in the sector we were in. but the reapers seemed to have a change of heart and quit trying to whipe us out."Garrus said.

The zealot in charge of finding the Normandy had done so and rallied reports back to command. "We have determined that they destroyed a squad and there ship is still not flight worthy. I believe if we launch a bombing run we can destroy their ship and leave them to our mercy." The zealot told the ship master. "Hm. No. We need to prevent them getting out. I will have a set up of cruisers in that area. Once we have dealt with the flood within a three hundred and fifty mile radius." The commander was showing his lack of caring for the Normandy's crew and wanted to focus on destroying the flood. But little did he know the flood would be approaching the Normandy soon.

As some humans were off on patrol in the nearby caves for any sign of covenant forces. "None here. It seems they all have left. I wonder why?" One of them says. "Jenkins it's getting dark we should head back. Who knows whats on this weird planet." "Yea your right. Lets go." As the two start walking back they hear some scurrying. "What was that?" Jenkins asks. "I. I don't know. Be on guard." Hearing the same scurrying and now some kind of wet light growling noise the two started to panic. "Let's just run." "Agreed." The two men began running back to the ship abut after they got sixteen meters one was knocked down by a flee. "Jenkins? Jenkins!" The other marine says running over to the creature attacking Jenkins. Then something happened he never would have thought.

The creature moved the tip of it's strange head and stabbed it into his chest. It began moving erratically and burrowed into his chest. His neck snapped as his body shook violently. His neck broke back fully and moved to were the right shoulder would be as his body was contorted. Out of his left arm came the whip like appendages. He then leapt up and gave out a roar. The other marine screamed as he was thrown to the left his left wrist severed. Frozen in fear and pain a infection form burrowed into him. Behind the distorted bodies and decaying skin their name tags could be seen. In the darkness several infected elites and hundreds of these infection forms came running out in the direction of the ship. They were about a kilometer away.

By now Garrus had fixed the engine, atleast enough to enable flight. Alongside this, they finally got a stealth field generator set up, as wellas the Polyanthus having been relocated into the Normandy's hangar. By now the flood had gotten close enough to be spotted by snipers. "HUSKS!"One of them called. Unlike some of the other marines he wasn't shaken by the ghastly sight of the flood, having been on Earth during the reaper' invasion having gotten use to the disgusting mutations the reapers made to organuc bodies. Several snipers opened fire. A few took out some of the small infeciton forms, but the comabt forms were completely un effected. "Crap, fall back, go warn the rest of the crew!"The siper ordered, with several other snipers returning to the Normandy.

"Okay so we aren't activating the Reaper signals thing you guys have on th ship?"Paana asked."No, we don't know where the other alien ships might be, and sending off the Reaper IFF's could give them our position."Garrus said. If we go straight out stealth mode we will be able to, hopefully, relocate without and trouble."Garrus explained. "Garrus! We spotted some Husks heading towards the ship. The ydidn't look like normal husks though."a Sniper said, entering the command deck of the ship. "Husks?""Garrus replied. "What was their position?"Paana asked. "About a kilometer, but they're closing in fast."The sniper replied. "Alright, get as many heavy gunmen out there, and make sure you're all wearing your helmets!"Paana ordered. "I think how ever these husks are created it has to do with some kind of gas."She added ,recieving a salute before darting off. "Well I guess you told me."Garrus said, before Paana left.

The flood assault was going fast and brutal. The corpses of covenant that remained out side were assimilated and being used for biomass. The combat forms superior strength and jump strength allowed them to leap nearly thirty meters and twenty up in massive leaps. Any marines that got within touching distance of the flood were infected. One sniper blasted off the disfigured head of the flood host. However this blew the top of the head off with no effect on the infected. Several infection forms were shot and burst releasing the contaminated flood fluid within.

They had not yet made it to the Normandy but they were a hundred a fifty meters away. Some Turian soldiers outside were using assault rifles and some using basic biotics to repel the flood. But they soon were over run. The flees may be fragile but they had numbers to get over that. The Turians caught were infected. Their necks broke and heads went to the back of their spines. The flea burrowed into the upper abdomen pointing up passing through the lower throat of one. The rotting flesh of the Turian became more flaky with their dryer skin. But they grew an additional tentacle out their right shoulder becouse of the massive amount of calcium in their body. The only thing was they were not organized only frenzied. But this proved a great threat still.

Riisart was outside. He was aware of the impending Flood invasion and was prepared t ocapture as many for study as he could. "Riisart? What the hell are you doing?!"NAal asked coming up to the salarian. "Preparing to collect samples. Who knows what we could learn from these husks!"The salarian said in glee. "I'll never understand how you could ever get excited about a disease....Make sure to keep your 'samples' away from me."Naal said. "Noted."The salarian replied. "Think we'd beable to beat these things?"The quarian asked. "Not sure. I'd suggest we capture a few live husks. We can study them and develop proper tactics for dealing with them. Once we have that fixed up, then we will most likely be able to defeat them. In addition to that we have the Normandy and her crew, which not only defeated sovereign, but they also defeated the collectors, as well as helping to end the reaper invasion. I'm certain with their aid we will be able to defeat these husks."Riisart said with a smile. "Hope you're right."Naal replied. "While we wait for any orders think you might be able to help me rig up some weaponry?"Naal asked. "Do we not already have plenty of weapons?" Riisart questioned. "OH, we have plenty, I mean less conventional weapons. We don't know how to kill these things, so I'm willing to try anything. Mining tools, crowbars, miniature turbines, anything."Naal said."Hmmm..... should be simple. Perhaps I may finally get my hands on a flame trower."Riisart said eagerly, heading off with Naal.

By now the troops were being pushed back thanks to the infection forms having arrived and grown the number of combat forms. They were mostly human, but the odd, three tendriled Turians were definitely present.
