The flood infestation was spreading at an alarming rate. The combat forms were becoming more numerous and the infection forms were into the tens of thousands around the planet. The flood began to pour into the way of the Normandy and it's crew. The Normandy's guns were blasting away and infection forms and some combat forms but the guns range let it down as the flood got closer. A infected Turian tackled Riisart. Leaping near him slashing with the powerful tentacles.

The covenant were locating the flood in the area and determined they were starting to swarm around the Normandy and swarming under ground coming near the covenant blockage. "The flood are putting rather large numbers into the enemy ships location. If we go in for an attack soon we can destroy both a majority of the flood and their ship." The elite zealot spoke to his commander with a gruff voice. "Yes. We need to destroy this threat. Prepare Fooled Mercy for a glassing run." The ship master referred to his own ship. His ship being called Fooled Mercy was being set up to glass the Normandy's location. It would take about twenty five minutes to get over their after preparing and then thirty seconds to charge the glassing beam.

Riisart held hsi arm w up with his omni blade activating, slicing through the tentacle. "Naal! Sever its limbs with your omni blade! We may have the best sample we're going to get!"Riisart said, with surprising glee, despite the rotting space zombie still trying to slaughter him. After a few moments Naal activated his omni blade slicing through the combat form's limbs. Riisart shoved the limbless flood form off, before quickly shoving it into a large conatianment tube. He grabbed another containment tube and went off, locking several infector forms in it before retreating to the normandy.

In the chaos one of the few krogans on the Normandy's crew had gone into a blood rage from an infector form. It had dug into his body already, but before it could latch onto his nervous system and begin the transformation, the Krogan's secondary nervosu system kicked in, locking the flood form from controling the body. The krogan charged several combat forms, tearing through them in his blind rage before succombing to his wounds, another few infector forms hoping into his body, and being over whelmed. "FALL BACK!" One of the human crew called. The remainder of the crew that was still alive got aboard the normandy. "JOKER! GET THE SHIP in thE Air!"Garrus called, shooting a few flood with his assault rifle as the last of the crew got aboard. With out hesitation the door to the entrance of the normandy slammed shut, preventing entry. The normandy cloaked itself, visually and cloaked itself from detection by other ships, before flying off.

The flood that had been dismembered and put into a containment tube leaked some strange mucus. This mucus was the liquefied organs seeping out. The tank it was in began to have that same light green fog in it. This was barley noticeable but it was there. This was the flood changing the air and filling it with spores. The infection form in the chest seemed to squirm and try to pull out with no room to escape. The krogan that succumbed to it's injuries was soon infected. The first infection form managed to inject a large amount of the flood super cell virus then a new infection form took control. The new infected krogans head seemed to almost shatter as a bulbous growth appeared out it's dislocated mouth. It's arms split and revealed two massive whip like blades now out of both arms as the infection form burrowed safely into the chest cavity from under the chin. This form of flood was far more durable then the others and due to the flood mutation about three times as physically strong as a krogan even a enraged one.

The covenant super carrier Fooled Mercy made it's way above the area mere seconds after the Normandy took off. As the human ship cloaked and flew off the cruiser activated it's plasma beam. Firing it down it engulfed the plateau and destroyed the flood and anything else in the area. The mountain it'self now shined with a burnt shimmer from the now glassed mountain. As the Normandy flew off some covenant such as the infected krogan held onto the hull and fell off landing into the jungle and surviving. "Ship master the ship has left and we am not sure if it was destroyed." "Assume it wasn't. We should keep the infestation at hand and prepare to counter attack against our new foes should they return." The ship master was aboard his ship over seeing the glassing personally.

"Intrigiuing"Riisart said examining the the combat form. "Can't believe you actually brought that thing aboard the ship."Naal said looking at the flood comba form. "As I said, studying these creatures would give us the best possible offence against them. Also, I would recodmend wearing a hazmat suit and a rebreather..... oh wait... nevermind."Riisartsaid absent mindedly "Ha ha. You're hilarious."Naal replied sarcastically. "So, what all are you going to try and do?"Naal asked. "Well, once I have the room sealed in an air-tight barrier from the rest of the ship I plan to remove the creature and run a few tests o nit. See how much brain activity is going onin its head, ifany of its organs are still functioning, as well as how easy these things would be to kill under a less panicked situation."Riisart explained. "Uh-huh.... Well, let me know when you're taking that thng out so I ca-"Naal said before being cut off. "Releasing specimen A."Riisart said into hisomni tool. "Wait! Let me out of here first!"Naal demanded, recieving an eye roll fromRiisart."No one's keeping you here. You know where the dooris."The salarian said, waiting for Naal to leave. Once Naal had left Riisart opened the tubeand pulled the combat form out of it, setting it on the floor.

The infection form remained burrowed into the host. However during the time it took to be pulled out and their conversation it burrowed into the host. Leaving a slowly thickening ooze as the infection form hid in the hosts stomach area. The smell from the creature would be that or decaying bodies, dried blood and some form of sickening fungus like aroma. As the infection form burrowed the combat form ceased moving as the infection form was no longer in it's nervous system.

"Fascinating"The scientist said, further inspecting the limbless corpse. He noticed the infection form retreat into the body. After a bit more poking around Riisart decided there wasn't much else to learn from the cadaver, atleast not with out the tools he currently lacked. He hoisted the combat form back into its containment before locking the top back on preventing escape. "Have you discovered anything of note doctor?"Edi asked over the intercomm. "Plenty. The first of my discoveries, was the state of the internal organs. They seem liquefied. Which explains why sniper shots had no effect considering how snipers are designed to do internal damage. Second the growths on the chest seem to be a separate organism, primary the odd... uh.... I think humans call them squids... anyways they seem to be the same as the small squid-like organisms. I am also certain that the stench of all this is utterly appalling."Riisart explained.

Upon examination of the cells you would see human cells but at the same time mutant flood cells causing the genetic and physical damage. This would also allow the creature to increase the hosts physical strength to two to nearly three times the original strength. In essence the body is altered to make it more combat worthy.

The covenant fleet was getting anxious as it started to approach night the flood would have the advantage with being able to lurk in the darkness with animalistic senses. Putting search lights on phantoms and guard towers they were ever on the look out.

By now Riisart had studied the infector forms. "Intriguing."He said as he inspected the samples and the cells he'd taken before locking the infector back in the container it was in.

"What should we do ship master. The flood will quickly over run this world after the foolish interlopers released the parasite." "Focus on the flood. These new comers may be a problem but the flood are worse then they could ever be. We should destroy the parasite then hunt down our interlopers." The ship master was final on decision of focusing on the flood. As long as the Normandy's crew didn't attack they would not hunt them down till they destroy the flood.

Soon the normandy was flying over a massive jungle spanning over several miles. "So, any idea what the current plan is?"Naal asked Paana. "Well, we're definitely flying off to ditch those aliens. Past that I have no idea what we're going to do."Paana said. "I'm sure we'll try and find a way off this rock."She added. "Well, let's hope we get off soon. Especially with this contaminant running around on the planet."Naal replied.

The sentinels were going mad across the planet trying to contain the flood. Below the catacombs of the planet was a twelve kilometer containment zone were anything none 'reclaimer' would be attacked immediately. Through this was the core of the machine world. A large orb like structure in the center with four other ones built into the walls on what seems like north, south, east and west for the planet.

In the lower levels super sentinels were beginning to come online. Super sentinels were much large then the others. They were a bit bigger then a tank and possessed rockets, duel sentinel beams and high impact shields they were a force to be trifled with. However their shields were only at their front. All over the planet was it's local fauna and flora. Roughly 85% of the planets wild life was small. No bigger then a common house cat. This was birds, mammals, reptiles ect. As the shield worlds had fully working eco systems. Their were some larger life forms the largest were the size of a large bear and varied on diets. However this local wild life was making it easy for the flood to consume more biomass. As the Normandy would fly over the jungles some patches had tree's and other biological material rotting and growing with flood biomass and growths like sacs of spores/ infection forms. These sacs varry from a inch to several feet in some severe cases.

The Normandy soon stopped over a large pyramid-like structure. "Huh, didn't know egyptians came here."Joker joked. "Should we send down an investigation team?"Edi asked. "Uh... I guess so. If we could use that building to land in. Go get Paana's group and we'll send them in.

After several minutes a blue shuttle flew out of the normandy's hangar. It flew down landing infront of the pyramid. "Alright, head back up to the Normandy. We'll call you when we're ready for extraction."Paana said, climbing off the shuttle followed by Naal and ZK. Unfortunately Sokadrak remained on the Normandy in order to help Riisart study more about the flood that were caught. Alice got out of the shuttle, followed by some human and Salarian troops.

The great pyramid structure had a odd feel to it. It had no flood or covenant near or on it. The smooth clean silver, grey and white building stood huge and had a commanding presence. As the Normandy's shuttle went down eight sentinels came out and followed it down. As it landed the mechanical guardians of this world surrounded the shuttle and scanned the crew. They seemed to be very protective of this place. As the scans commenced they prevented the doors and weapons being used by looking down the shuttles systems.

"Oh great. What's going on?"Paana asked, looking around as the ship shook, hitting the ground. "We're offline right now."the pilot said.

The sentinels were scanning to see the ships contents and if it were to be a flood trap or threat. "Wait. Is that a reclaimer?" A strange glowing light said from inside the structure. Flying out of a small sentinel maintenance hatch the light showed it's form. The purple light was a two and a half foot wide metallic black sphere. The sphere had a concave imprints on the top and bottom with smooth blades running up it's sides and markings on the main body. Firing a light purple beam it unlocked the ship. It waited for it to open and greeted the occupants. "Greetings. I am 487 Reliant Flare. I am in charge of this installations flood research and security." It says with a tone similar to a adult male human. It seemed to speak to the group within the shuttle.

The instant the monitor floated into the shuttle nearly everyone aimed their guns at it. "Hey! Relax! It's just some kind of drone."Naal said, not at all worried by the monitor. "I assume you're some kind of VI or AI?"He asked.

"Well I guess you could classify me as an AI. However I am a bit different. You are quiet interesting. May I ask your names, species and purpose for being on this world?" 487 Asked seeming curious about these new arrivals.

"I am a quarian, my Synthetic partner, ZK-39, over there is a geth."Naal explained. "Paana rolled her eyes. "Let's move. Don't have the time to indulge some floating ai."Paana groaned leaving the ship. "Who knows when those husks'll show up."She added.

"Husks? What ever do you mean? There is nothing on this shield world that has that name. I detect no foreign organisms on this world other then the species before me." He seems to be confused by the terms you use and your in fighting.

"Husks are organics modified by reaper tech. The husks we've run into so far are a little different though."Naal explained, motioning for the monitor to follow them. Alice glanced around at the Pyramid. "Alright, you guys set up a perimeter. I don't want anything getting into this pyramid."Alice ordered.
