There was an awkward silence as the children continued to eat their meal. Once they were all finished, the caretakers would lead them to an armored bus, where they would be transported to Central Square. There was to be a public ceremony to commemorate the start of their training, and it would also be their first time outside of the facility, a day that they have all been looking forward to, whether they'd admit it or not.

Leslie finished her food and Mary and the Doorman led her out of the building. She gasped. Something cold and invisible kept hitting her. At first it scared her, but then she realized what it was. Air. Like from a ventilation shaft. She smiled and twirled about, her robe skirts swinging perfectly around her ankles. She almost felt like she could be blown away...
"Mary, is there a word for moving air?"
"Wind, Pillar." Wind. It felt like magic, so wild and... unregulated. She wanted to be able to control it, but at the same time, felt that would ruin it.
Leslie skipped happily up to the bus and took a seat, which she had to share with Mary. She looked back at the facility once more before they left.
It looked... Different than she would have thought. It was odd to imagine she had been inside that building her whole life. She wondered if other kids grew up in facilities or just Pillars.
She thought about the Pillars. Something about breakfast had bothered her... Leslie was a smart girl. She had taught herself how to read many things from signs on the buildings and words on toys and books before reading lessons even began. She was just... overly optimistic. She expected the best from everyone, and wasn't a very good judge of character. That day was the first day she began to suspect not everyone liked her. The thought was troubling, but she must have done a good job fighting off tears if her Caretaker didn't notice.

Jake and his care taker followed Leslie and Mary. Jake took the seat behind Marry. He glanced out the window, less interested in the facility, and more interested with his surroundings. All of the examples of the outside world he'd been given by his care taker either showed alien worlds with odd looking plants of varying colors, or were brown and dead, not having any life for miles. He was surprised by the amount of green there was. Though he didn't hate it. Green was easily his favorite color.
"Do you think we'll see any zombies on the way?"Jake asked Leslie
"Do you think we'll see any zombies on the way?"Jake asked Leslie
((Wow, I'm really sorry, I kept putting of posting here. Ok... I don't even have much to post.))
Leslie looked at Jake quizzically. "Zombies? What's a zombie?"
Leslie looked at Jake quizzically. "Zombies? What's a zombie?"
"A zombie is a dead guy that can walk around and eat people."Jake explained.
"What?" Leslie scooted towards the window. "That's gross and scary. Anyway, I don't think they're real."
"They do to exist!"Jake argued. "They were in movies. If they were in movies they have to exist!"Jake added.
"Movies?" Leslie had never heard of such a thing. "What's that?"
"Movies are like moving pictures with sound."Jake explained.
"I don't think those are real either," Leslie frowned, looking at Jake's caretaker suspiciously. "Are they?"
"Uh... No, no they aren't. He must've simply been dreaming."Jake's care taker said. Thankfully he was fairly good at acting, and hid his nervousness very well. "Don't go blabbing about those movies I've shown you. I'm not supposed to let you see them."Jake's caretaker whispered to Jake.
Leslie smiled triumphantly and turned away from the mean liar.
Jake blinked confused. He grumbled crossing his arms across his chest.
