Marina slowed when the creature changed shape into something that seemed more humanoid. She felt a little bit braver about following it now, since it didn't seem to know she was there. Looking around, she started to piece together her location. But she wasn't exactly positive where she was. Instinctively, she picked up her pace because she was nervous about being lost and ended up walking straight into the back of the person she'd been following's leg. Almost immediately, she dropped to the ground, shrinking away. Internally, she was freaking out. She was pretty positive she was dead meat now.
Jake looked over his shoulder and nearly screamed when he saw the werewolf that had followed him. He quickly took several steps back. His friend William had told him the mroe wild werewolves can be disuaded from attacking by looking smaller and less threatening, but still tough enough to fight. Jake easily nailed the looking small and helpless part. Compared to just about any other humanoid elves were amongst, if not, the squishiest there were. Even a Changeling's alternative forms were weaker than the actual creatures they turned into.
The fact that the changeling's response to her presence was also one of fear would've been comical if it weren't for the fact that both of them were spooked and thus neither saw the humor of the situation. It took Marina a long moment to process what she was seeing. He was scared of her? Slowly, she sat up, eyeing him curiously. What reason did he have to be scared of her? Cautiously, she got to her paws and stepped towards him, hesitating before taking a second step. Then, she stopped, studying him with intelligent eyes.
Jake Kept his distance. This werewolf wasn't attacking, atleast not yet. Despite this he was still weary about it. Unfortunately he was more restricted in his forms now. The minute he left the forest a size limit to his forms were put in place by the law. While shapeshifting and defending himself from a werewolf if it attacked or had previously attacked wouldn't get him in trouble, a T. rex or a Wyvern smashing into someone's house would.
Marina sat down, staring at him. She then looked around, trying to figure out where they were. Clearly they were out of the forest and near town, but in a part of town that wasn't very familiar to her. She got up and started sniffing around, searching for a familiar scent. But there was nothing. Frustrated, she sighed and lay down, feeling a little nervous about being lost.
Jake binked confused. If this werewolf was in that pack he didn't understand why it wasn't attacking yet. He looked around, before focusing on the werewolf again, his tail swishing about nervously. "Why isn't it trying to attack?"He asked himself.
Her ear flicked in his direction when he spoke, but she didn't make any motion to pay further attention to him beyond that. She sighed again, frustrated with herself. After a moment, she stood up and started sniffing around again, before cautiously approaching him, careful to keep a submissive and non-threatening demeanor.
Jake blinked, still confused by the werewolf's behavior. All the Werewolves he'd met before had been sapient. "Uh... can you talk?"He asked the werewolf.
In response to his question, Marina shook her head slightly once, indicating that the answer was no. As a wolf, she couldn't speak... at least not in human words. She wanted to shift to be able to talk, but she didn't have clothing to wear...
"You can't talk, but you can understand speech?"Jake said.
Marina tried to think of a way to communicate her situation, but there was no easy way. She sighed and just nodded her head once.
"Uh, okay. You can turn back into a person right?"Jake asked.
In response, she nodded, hesitating a little bit. Then, she sat down, squirming a little bit, uncomfortable with the thought of letting a stranger see her naked.
"Then why nto just turn back to norm-Ooooooooooooooooooh."Jake said, suddenly understanding Marina's reluctance to turn back to normal. Unlike most shapeshifters, Therianthropes couldn't have their clothes change with their body, thus many shredded their clothes when they morphed. "I've got some clothes you can wear at my place."Jake said, motioning for Marina to follow him.
When it hit him why she didn't shift, she let out a sigh and nodded slightly. At least he understood now. She hesitated to follow him, almost wondering if he'd kill her once he had her somewhere he could easily hurt her without being seen. But, she had to trust that he wasn't going to do that in the same way that he had to trust she wasn't going to rip him to shreds. So, she stood up and moved to follow him, maintaining some distance to avoid coming too close to him.
After a short while Jake had arrived at his house. He opened the door letting Marina in before him. "Hey mom, brought home a werewolf."Jake said passing through the living room. "Oka-wait what?"Jaqulynn asked, glancing behind the couch at Marina.
Stepping into the house cautiously, Marina was careful to wipe her paws off at the door so she wouldn't trek to much dirt in and she avoided touching anything to the best of her ability. She followed the boy through the living room, pausing when he spoke to his mother and his mother looked at her. For a moment, she hesitated, before tucking her tail between her legs and lowering her head slightly and trailing after the boy again.
"Hope it's not shedding... still vacuuming Will's and Amanda's fur."Jaqulynn muttered. Jake went up the stairs, turning into his room down the hall from the stairs. "Uh, do you care if you wear guy clothes?"Jake asked.
Mentally, Marina was glad that she had avoided rubbing against anything. While she didn't shed a lot, she would leave some loose hairs behind if she rubbed against something. Following the boy, she looked around, taking in her surroundings with a level of silent curiosity. In response to his question, she shook her head slightly. Boy clothes, girl clothes... clothing was clothing in the end... it didn't make a difference.
"Alright."Jake said, muttering something under his breath. He went over to his closet, sliding its door open, with a loud oinking groan escaping the closet as JAke's pet, a wild boar named Pigzors, emerged from the closet. It shook and waddled around the room momentarily before taking notice of Marina. It glared at her, letting out an agitated groan. "Ey, chill out Pigzors!"Jake scolded. In response the boar, surprisingly, managed to climb up to Jake's loft bed, lying down on it and glaring down at Marina. "Ignore him. He doesn't like werewolves."Jake said, eventually taking out a large shirt and a pair of lounge pants for Marina to wear.
