It was a cool afternoon in early Autumn, and the leaves in the trees were beginning to change colors, making the forest a kaleidoscope of colors. Deep within the forest, life was still in full swing, and the animals were only just beginning to prepare to hibernate for the winter. The occasionally breeze stirred up fallen leaves, scattering them through the air briefly before they settled back in the grass. Overhead, the sun was beginning to descend close to the horizon, preparing to set within the next few hours. Through the branches, it cast wild and strange patterns of light onto the forest floor.
The sound of running paws, the occasional growl or yelp and heavy breathing disrupted the peace of the forest as a pack of wolves raced after a group of frightened deer. All different colors of coats were visible in the pack, anywhere from black to white, with many greys, browns and the occasional reds mixed in. About 20 wolves in total made up the pack, with the largest at the front of the group, seeming to lead them. Behind the main body of the pack, several wolves trailed along, slightly detached from the pack, but still a part of it.
One of those wolves, had a light brown and tan coat, and amber eyes, and was a bit smaller than most of the other wolves. Marina, one of the omegas of the pack, tailed the hunters closely, but she knew to stay out of their way. An omega was the bottom of the ranks in the pack, and they were reminded of it constantly, especially if they dared to ever act like they weren't an omega.

Further in the forest an odd sight zipepd about. It was clearly therianthrope in nature, and had vague resemblance to a weredog or werewolf. Its fur was predominantly tan with several spots on its fur. Its back was arched and its neck was long. It was clearly a werehyena, but had a few oddities about it. Firstly it was running around a forest in Pennsylvania, and not off in Africa. Second it was lankier than an everage therianthrope. Its tail was longer than the average werehyena's, and its ears were longer and ended in more noticeable points.
The werehyenas ears perked up as it could hear the approaching deer.

The scent of an unfamiliar animal made the deer slow for a moment before scattering into different directions at the sight of the werehyena. Having their prey scatter was more than a little bit frustrating to the wolves, but they slowed when they saw what had scattered the deer. As werewolves, most of them had little more than a slight education by human standards, but even the dumbest of werewolves knew an animal that didn't belong in their habitat when they saw it. For a moment, the pack was silent, staring at the creature with a high level of curiosity.
Then, the leader seemed to remember that this creature had made them lose their prey and he stepped forwards, shifting into his werewolf form, huge and muscular, snarling threateningly at the werehyena.

The Hyena snarled at the pack leader. Getting int oa fight wasn't high up on its list of priorities, but the werehyena ahd a few tricks up its sleeves should the pack leader attack. It snarled again taking back a few steps back.
Having the Hyena snarl back the pack leader lead to a few of the other werewolves shifting into their werewolf forms, growling. In their minds, he was a stranger and thus trespassing, and they didn't appreciate their pack lands being trespassed upon by strangers. The pack leader took a few steps towards the Hyena, rising to his full height, baring his teeth in a silent threat.
The werehyena gave off a loud odd yelping laugh. The laugh was certainly enough to scare off a few of the animals in the surrounding area. It let out another louder cackle, trying to scare off the pack leader. It too had risen to its hind legs. It was much less muscualr compared to the pack leader, and seemed to be more emaciated.
The odd sound made the pack leader hesitate for a moment, unsettled by the unfamiliar sound and the hyena's lack of fear. A stir went through the pack of wolves for a moment, some uneasy and wanting to leave the hyena alone, others were eager for a chance to fight something their own size. After a moment of deliberation, the pack leader tipped his head up and howled, before leaping at the werehyena, claws out and fangs flashing. Several werewolves followed suit, while other hesitated and hung back.
The werehyena yelped when it was tackled. Its jaws locked firmly around the pack leader's arm, which would eal a decient amount of pain due to the powerful bite of the werehyena. It eventually decided to make use of its other abilities as the others in the pack joined in. The werehyena swung its arm at the pack leader, with the limb suddenly growing in length and losing the fur. The sudden motion increase from the shapeshifting and the already present momentum forced the leader off. The werehyena rolled onto its belly as its bod yshifted and changed. Fur began to fall out being replaced with scales. Its other arm grew out becoming a copy of the first, with both arms soon developing wing membrane. The tail grew out and soon sharpened to a blade. The general size of the werehyena grew, and its head structure shifted from a hyena's to a more reptillian structure with a beak like maw. The werehyena's transformation was done as it had taken the form of a wyvern. It let out a loud echoing shriek at the werewolves, whipping its tail about.
The pack leader yelped in pain when he was bitten, but he struggled against the werehyena, until it started changing shape rapidly, knocking him lose and sending him to the ground. Most of the werewolves came to a stop when the hyena started changing shape, and when it was suddenly a dragon like creature, most of them cowered when it shrieked and in a matter of moments the pack scattered, eager to get away from whatever that creature was as fast as they could.
Marina was more than okay with following the lead of the others and fleeing away from that thing. Though, she didn't pay a ton of attention to where she was running and ended up losing sight of the other pack members. She slowed down after running until she couldn't run any more. Coming to a stop, she panted heavily, her sides heaving as she tried to catch her breath.

The wyvern had initially planned to go out and see a friend of his, btu after this attack decided not to, and headed back in the direction of his home. Unknowingly he was making his way down to Marina
After she caught her breath, Marina sat down, looking around to try and get her bearings. It took her a long moment to realize that she was lost... very lost. Sighing, the she wolf stood up and wandered in a circle in the area she was, trying to figure out which way was which. But she couldn't figure it out. She could only hope someone would look for her... but she doubted that anyone would.
The wyvern slowly approached Marina, still unaware of her presence.
The scent of something unfamiliar made Marina go on alert, looking around warily. She sniffed the air briefly, trying to pick up the direction it was coming from, but she couldn't be sure because of the wind.
The wyvern soon came out infront of Marina. It froze and growled at her, unaware of whether or not she was one of the werewolves that attacked her earlier.
Seeing the creature from before, the she-wolf backed up, tucking her tail between her legs and flattening her ears to try to show submission. She whimpered softly, laying down on the ground to try to seem as small and unthreatening as possible.
The wyvern glanced down at Marina, slightly confused. He shrugged it off and continued down the path he was going, with his tail swishing from side to side.
As much as she knew it was probably a really bad idea, Marina didn't know where to go here... but she imagined that this dragon-like thing might. So, she slowly got up and started to follow it cautiously.
The Wyvern didn't notice the Werewolf following him.
Continuing to trail behind it, Marina kept her ears pricked forwards and kept scenting the wind, trying to figure out where she was. The strange thing about this creature was that there was no scent from it that she could identify with any creatures she was familiar with.
As the Wyvern left the forest its mass shrunk down into an elf of some sort. It continued on its way to its home. "Next time I'm dragging Will along...."Jake muttered.
