Another night came over a small village in the woods, and another victim had been claimed by a horrible creature. This was the point where people were starting to call for help. No one had dared seek this creature out until two brave warriors agreed to combat the rising threat. ...The problem was that no one found either of these warriors ideal for combating the threat.
There was an obese Tawaret mage who claimed to have very strong magic. Many people are doubtful of this though as she carries her son with her in a pouch and she claims that Tawaret are "Hippos for crying out loud! We're SUPPOSED to be heavy!". In addition, she's been noted to fall asleep at random times. Another creature who decided to fight the rising threat was a strange Almiraj that people doubted even more. He seemed relatively scrawny at barely a hundred pounds. The Almiraj swears he has the power to turn into a five-hundred pound colossus of meat and muscle, but refuses to show it off, so people assume he's bluffing.
Although the two still want to help, the village called for more help. ...But would it come.
At the bar, the Almiraj and the Tawaret were talking. They felt a bit insulted by the lukewarm reception the two got.
"Eshe, I don't think these people understand our potential," the Almiraj said. "I don't know if they will even allow us to help them. What should we do Eshe? ...Eshe?"
What do you know, the Tawaret, Eshe, was asleep. Her son was still awake though.
"Mom gets very tired a lot," the son said. "Especially after a meal or a tough battle. Mom!"
The Tawaret mage pepped up immediately as her son woke her up. She then stared down at the small Almiraj.
"Uhh, right Tiberius," Eshe said. "Maybe we... we should find someone more capable looking so that the village will allow us to help?"

Just on the outskirts of the village was a beast. It had the head of a man, but the body of a lion, and the stinger of a scorpion, and as with all of its kind, its stomach was a bottomless pit. The manticore had perched itself in a tree, grooming its front paws. It had just killed off a wild boar and swallowed it whole. While he loved the taste of Boar, but couldn't stand the smell of them. His tail swung lazily off the branch he was on, until a ruckus caught his attention. The Manticore glanced into the village, seeing several people crying and shouting about missing children. The manticore sneered, rolling its eyes.
Eventually, Eshe and Tiberius left the saloon where they started out. They were just about ready to give up if they would not let them on the journey.
"But where are we going to find a third member?" Tiberius asked.
"Wait..." Eshe started to sniff the air. Something caught her attention. "I smell poison somewhere?"
"How can you tell?" Tiberius asked.
"We necromancers work around a lot of morbid objects," Eshe said. "Eventually we're able to catch the scent of some rather sinister creations. ...Over there! A Manticore!"
Eventually the two went over to where Pezhvak was. They were unsure whether to attack or not.

Pezvhak glanced down at the two from his perch. "What do you want?"He asked bluntly."If you're here to try and slay me make it quick. It's getting dark which is my primary time to hunt."He added,
Tiberius was unsure what to do. He was unsure whether the creature was good or evil.
"Uhhh, yeah," Tiberius said. "We're... we're here to slay you."
Eshe, on the other hand, seemed to have rather different ideals. Must come with being a necromancer.
"Now settle down beefcake," Eshe said. "Just because the creature is one you're not familiar with doesn't make it evil. Manticores are typically carefree towards other creatures if they don't typically hunt them." Eshe then turned towards the Manticore to talk to it. "I quite have a fond fascination for your kind, meeting you is like a treat. What is your name?"

"Care free? There's a first"Pezvhak muttered rolling his eyes. "My name is Pezvhak. You?"Pez asked.
"I'm Eshe Tawar," she said. "The little guy in my pouch is named Kontar. The Almiraj next to me is Tiberius. Although, he prefers to be called "Emperor."
Tiberius smiled at Pez for a bit. "I'm not the Emperor, that's my alter-ego," Tiberius said. "I generally don't show him unless it's pertinent though."

"It was a pleasure. Now go away."Pez said irritably.
"He wants us to go away," Tiberius told Eshe. Eshe seemed to have an obsession with dark and scary stuff. She didn't want to leave.
"Please Manticore, I would rather stay," Eshe said. "As you can see, I am a necromancer. We have a fascination for creatures such as yourself. Yes, we don't just delight in learning about the undead. Perhaps, would you care to accompany us on an adventure? We're trying to destroy an evil creature, but the townsfolk won't take us seriously because because apparently they're not used to seeing fat hippo monsters, and Tiberius refuses to show his alter ego."
"First off, really? You're asking him to join us?" Tiberius asked. "Secondly, you're STILL twice the size of most Tawaret. Third, I have had bad experiences showing my Emperor form willy-nilly."

"Dare I ask what your 'adventure' is?"Pez asked. He knew that lately many villagers wanted his head on a pike, so he figured that was amongst the options. He was also familiar with the suddenly vanishing number of children, though he hoestly couldn't care less about that. The fewer children around, the fewer humanoids raised to believe manticores were evil, and thus less people to possibly try and kill him, not that many had succeeded anyways.
"As it just so happens," Tiberius said. "There's supposedly a giant ra..."
Eshe stopped him right there. She noticed the manticore was the type that probably wouldn't go on an adventure unless the adventure sounded like a challenge. And a giant rat didn't sound very exciting.
"Wrath of an evil dark wizard!" Eshe blurted out. "A dark wizard with many powerful underlings and despicable transformations. He lives in the darkest, scariest cave filled with..."
"Eshe, what are you doing? We're just fighting a giant rat," Tiberius mentioned.
"I was trying to juice up the adventure, you stupid cretin," Eshe growled.

Pez rolled hsi eyes in irritation. "And this giant rat is a problem to me how? Its underlings steal the villagers' children, which means in the future there will be less villagers to threaten my existance. Why should I stop these kid nappings? Especially when said giant rat has done nothing to me?"Pez asked.
"You'll have to excuse my... not necromancer friend," Eshe said. "He thinks he is the most powerful creature on this planet, so he tends to under-exaggerate things. The truth to be told is that this is no ordinary Giant Rat, and he doesn't only take human children. In fact, he is known to kill other creatures as well. This includes any creature he feel he can harness power into. He likes to soak his fangs in poison to make them more deadly to his prey. And his poison of choice? ...Manticore poison! He kills Manticores for their poison so he can use them on prey."
"Uhh, Eshe?" Tiberius interupted. "Wouldn't he run the risk of poisoning himself?"
Eshe quickly raised her staff and smacked Tiberius on the head. She was getting sick of his straight-forward bull that would get them no where.
"Silence you fool!" Eshe shouted. "Haven't you ever heard of immunity practice? It's obvious he would have needed to kill LOTS of manticores for their poison. He then drinks the poison in small doses day after day, and eventually he becomes immune to it. And giant rats can already take some poison, so I'd prefer it if you kept all 186 of your jaw bones snapped into place."

ingesting manticore poison wouldn't give one an immunity. Each manticore has its own unique poison with its own effects. And plenty can generate new toxins through chemicals in their stingers."Pezvhak said, rolling his eyes. "On top of that I find most other Manticores to be abhorent annoyances."Pez added. "And considering how I'm theonly manticore in the area, and have yet to be killed by this rat, I can assume he is either unaware of my presence, or simply doesn't care about my presence."Pez said with a scowl. He believed that Eshe had simply made up the giant Rat's use of Manticore poison in an effort to convince him to help.
"Yeah, that didn't work Eshe," Tiberius stated.
Eshe started to get really angry. She was about to smack Tiberius with her staff again until Kontar tried to stop her.
"Mom, don't you think he's had enough?" Kontar asked.
"Oh, whatever," Eshe responded.
"One thing that is not untrue is that this creature will kill anything in it's path," Tiberius said. "If you're in its way, it will kill you. Plus, there's plenty of prey animals it kills as well."

"And I've avoided that path since this rat has arrived."Pes replied. "And wouldn't aiding you put in me in that rat's path?"Pez asked
"Oh trust me, you don't have to worry about that with us around," Tiberius mentioned. "We're much stronger than we look."
"You won't go unrewarded," Eshe mentioned.
"You won't go unrewarded," Eshe mentioned.
"And what will this reward be?"Pez asked.
"Eshe, I don't think the manticore is interested in money," Tiberius stated.
"Alright then," Eshe started. "Is there something of which you desire Pez?"
"Alright then," Eshe started. "Is there something of which you desire Pez?"
"Well as most creatures I want food, territory. I assume I'm going to want a mate in the future, though neither of you could provide that. Well. Neither of you could offer the mate."Pez said, thinking. "If you pursuade the local villagers into leaving me alone I might help you."Pez said.
