I'm the dreamweaver for The Village of Nasmara in Imaginarium. We are a strict rp group with a pretty open continuity, and are generally willing to work with new roleplayers on creating characters which fit into our setting, or reworking old characters to join in.
The feudal village of Nasmara is a medieval fantasy continuity, focused on character development through various social, political, economic and other non-combative interactions. Our admin team generally runs a (normally silly) mini-event one night a month, and also run a scripted event every six months or so, which I make special maps for in the spirit of classic dungeon crawls. Our players also often instigate and participate in character driven plots on a regular basis.
At the moment we are looking for players who are interested in shop and profession roleplay, and are eager to incorporate these into a community atmosphere. Some of the positions come with pre-attached plotlines, or particular character traits we are seeking, but most are up for grabs to anyone interested in taking them over. If you take up a shop position, we require you to seek out shop roleplay at least twice a week, but other positions in the dream are much more flexible - just talk to us! That said, here is a list of what we are looking for, with additional notes next to the job title so you have an idea of what you are getting into.
Baker: Nasmara has had four bakers since its founding, and all have disappeared rather mysteriously. Gossip around the village suggests that the position may be cursed. It has been suggested that Mister Sweeny Armstrong, who is eagerly seeking out someone new to lease the shop, is always hovering over the new bakers, instructing them on how best to use his baking equipment, especially the oven.
General Store Clerk: The abrasive and gullah accented tiger Miss Jambiliah runs the general store with a rather loose paw. Having broken her desk bell so that she can ignore customers as she pleases, it has been noted that various insects and other pests scurry in the corners, her spilled meals and untended sacks of food open game for unsavory critters. She wishes to lease her shop so she may go on an indefinite vacation, and tries to convince every new face in town that they would make a wonderful shopkeeper, just sign here!
Alchemist: A well stocked alchemical laboratory sits abandoned upon beachfront property on the island, sharing the beautiful view with the blacksmithy. Unfortunately the previous alchemist left in the night, without ever having used the space. Many on the island seek cures for magical maladies, and a skilled alchemist would be a boon to the other casual brewer on the island, Miss Hannah Green, who runs the Magical Emporium.
Cobbler: There is a high demand for shoes from the hard working villagers in the town, and unfortunately at the moment all footwear must be imported from elsewhere, or old shoes patched by inexpert hands. A cobbler setting up shop is greatly anticipated.
Carpenter: Located on the edge of a jungle, the village has quite a lot of available lumber, and a short supply of furniture! All must be ordered and imported through the general store, which is a nightmare for anyone who needs a bed now! A skilled carpenter, capable of everyday work as well as fancy pieces for the manor, would be a god-send for the villagers!
Tanner: With a blacksmith, a tinkerer, and a tailor, the village has been feeling the pinch of no available tanner. Having to import their leathers from the outside world, many go without, or projects take weeks longer to complete.
Healer: While little in the way of combat occurs in Nasmara, there are the usual cuts and scrapes associated with a working village. The current healers, Miss Azatha Heaton, and Doctor Dee Timber are both admired for their skill and feared for their tempers, each woman run rather ragged by caring for the needs of a busy populous. Perhaps someone with a gentler touch would be a boon to the two strong personalities.
Mage Apprentices: Lord Narsuun Taceo is a well known archmage and scarhawk knight throughout Kasuria, and has taken up residence in a wizard's tower on the island. With space for many students, the mage is left rather idle as none have appeared to take up the position of apprentice. Seeking to teach magical principals and ethics as well as the skills needed to survive combat, he is a patient but sometimes hard teacher. Lord Spellcarver the Darkhand, who lives in the floating manor above the island and rules all below, may also be convinced to take on an apprentice, though he is a reluctant teacher at the moment.
Lord's Butler: Lord Spellcarver has always felt his position incomplete without one of those smarmy butlers he always hears about! He needs someone to see to his schedule, tell unwanted visitors to go away, and make sure his clothing is neat, or whatever it is that smarmy butlers do!
Chambermaid: Miss Tathar Maksa, majordomo and soon to be wife of Lord Spellcarver, is in need of a chambermaid to aid her in her daily duties. As the Lord's assistant, cook, gardener, liaison to the island, accountant, and general dogsbody, there is no end to the woman's jobs, and she is often spread thin by her work.
Cook: The Children's Home, a bastion of security for lost children who find their way to the island, as well as busy parents who need to finish tasks without little paws getting in the way, is in need of a cook! The current matron can barely manage burnt toast, and as a Pixie, is allergic to most of the items required to make a meal.
Embroiderer/Seamstress: The Dancing Needle, a prominent business on the Island, is run by the duo of Eugenia Needle, a talented and experienced elderly cat whose poor knuckles just aren't up to the job these days, and Illiandi Bondsmiller, who despite being a talented spinner and weaver, cannot embroider at all. Currently seeking an experienced embroiderer or seamstress who can assist Eugenia on her daytime shift.
Dye and Jute Harvester(s): The second-most prominent business in the village, the Dancing Needle, could use a few capable young men to sustainably harvest jute and plants that give natural dye from the surrounding area. As the Lord is tightly protective of his local plantlife, this is a dangerous job not only due to the possible wrath from the local government should it be done incorrectly, but also because it is not unknown for the jungles to be the home of beasts, carnivorous plants and, most recently, a small and primitive tribe of constructs.
Launderer: While this job does come with its own apartment, a basin, a washing board and a winch stick, its prices are set at fourteen copper per household per week, with two copper going back to the Manor for use of the tools. The launderer is expected to obtain each contract individually. In addition, they must obtain their own consumable supplies, such as lye, urea, vinegar and salts. A fairly physical job, it is not one for the infirmed or faint of heart, but it is certainly one for someone who likes to get in a good bit of gossip. It's not called "airing one's dirty laundry" for no reason!
Serving Wench: Mister Davian Songsteel is seeking a pretty face to work in his tavern. The stoic Stallion generally does not spend much time speaking to his customers, and thinks he could sell more food and drink if someone engaging kept them in the building longer. - We want more wenches, wenches and mead, we want more wenches, lots of wenches is what we need.

One wench and one chambermaid has been found! Let's see if we can get any tradesmen.
I really need to kick myself into actually properly joining Nasmara and sticking to a character for it soon <,< I keep telling Zhi I'll join, then my brain farts on my motivation.
Our alchemist has reclaimed his lab!
Dis - you should bring in someone irresistible to da ladies! I sure know you're capable of that!

Ooh this sounds like an interesting group. This character may even fit in with that much needed "tanner" position. Finally got around to finishing this character's backstory so it might be a nice place to roleplay him at. I'm busy today and tomorrow but I'll submit an application for this character.
Your character looks super cool and very detailed! I'm eager to see you about the dream!
A new shipping company will be operating alongside the extant Breathstealer Clan, since business has been doing well on the island.
Anyone know any Captains?
Anyone know any Captains?
We've still got plenty of positions open in the dream, and Spellcarver is running a new plot!
Carpenter has been snatched up by a talented horse! Our washerwoman position is being competed for.
Keep'em coming in!
If you know another career not mentioned above? Run it by us! Can your character engrave? What about dye silk? Even if there's no market for things ~on the island, they can try to get a permit to harvest and export.
By the way, we could totally use someone whose primary occupation is something entertaining, like a puppeteer. (We have plenty of musicians who have day jobs, and a dancer)

Spell and Mel have discussed the possibilities for her to perhaps do something with the general goods store. It would be interesting to give her trading grounds on the island as well, rather than disappearing regularly to travel on the mainland for a bit.
Our Carpenter position has been taken up by a lovely family!
The chambermaid positions are open again, but the spot for assistant healer is under hot competition.
In addition to plenty of jobs, we do have a few apartments open as well. And by few I think there might be only three left!

The lord of the island is currently embroiled in a war off island with a shade of no little power. The citizens rally to his cause and aid him in each foray into enemy territory. We are running a 'dungeon crawl', usually at the end of each week, on a map specifically crafted for this purpose, where our players are able to battle terrible monsters in search for a very precious treasure.
The position of Children's Home Matron has opened up, though only two children currently reside in the building, a skunk kit and a naga.
Our dream has also been updated to utilize the new regions and effects, and a new shop has been added. Called 'The Green Haze', the proprietor is looking to hire on a clerk to sell the various 'herbs'.
The Bakery, the Pet Shop, the Infirmary, the Alchemy Laboratory, and the tavern, as well as the manor, are seeking staff to take on positions.
Come check us out at The Village of Nasmara.
