"Well then I doubt you will mind if I show you some reasons against what you say. I could show you how the flood basically wiped out my civilization the forerunners. They were more advanced then the reapers. I fear they may not be able to stop the flood. Then even this citadel will be part of their infestation." Flare says looking around. "Or I could leave and let you gamble with the existence of all life in this universe."
"Well there is a large flaw in that argument. I assume your creators were organic. And could thus be infected by this parasite. The reapers cannot. I also assume your creators were not as large as the Reapers, nor as numerous. A single Reaper capital ship can survive sustained fire from four dreadnaught class ships, the largest and most powerful ships we have at our disposal. A single capital ship can sheer through a dreadnaught with a single beam. I also currently assume they have the infested planets quarantined. I assure you, what ever issues your creators faced with the flood, the reapers will have no trouble with."The Turian councilor said.
"From what I have gathered you underestimated the reapers. Your ignorance led to millions of avoidable deaths. But I don't have the right to talk about things from a universe I am not from. Nor was there to witness. But if I may say. The reapers with a standard length of a reaper is around two thousand meters. Were a standard forerunner dreadnought is eleven thousand four hundred and ten meters in length and thirteen thousand one hundred and eighty meters wide. Just to provide an idea of scale. The forerunner navy after three centuries of war was many thousands of ships. In it's prime it would have been much much more. Easily outnumbering your citadel fleet and the reapers by far. The flood had consumed and were using ships with out standing military strategy. We only won due to activating the halo array and destroying the flood and forerunners. The few forerunners that remained destroyed the remaining enemy ships then went onto certain shield worlds were they were leaving them to eventually die out. My knowledge of the exact details was kept to a minimum in case any flood captured me." Flare kept a modest explaining tone yet was clearly showing how he was better. "The flood managed to corrupt ai. Minds made of organic material like the reapers even on a hive mind will be corrupted by the flood eventually. Life itself will be consumed synthetic and organic. if they fail. The flood will surely win."
"That is assuming the Flood aren't indoctrinated first. While indoctrination takes a while in a sentient being, what I assume are relatively mindless fungi wouldn't be a problem for a reaper. Ontop of that I wouldn't be surprised if a single reaper's Ai was more advanced than yours, depsite your supposed technological superiority."The Salarian Councilor said. "Plus we've recently gotten word from Harbinger that the reapers are re-building a weapon they'd used in the past to kill a very similar organism that did engulf the Galaxy during its cycle. From my understanding your parasite hasn't spread far, and is being quarantined on the few planets they have reached. The eta we received is two weeks to finish the weapon. And I'm certain that the Reapers can contain the flood in their current space. And if need be, plenty of Reapers are able to deactivate the Mass Relays, with Harbinger being the ultimate administrator of the relays. And he would certainly shut off the Relays if he saw fit."The Asari Councilor added. "I assure you the parasite will be contained, and it will be destroyed."The Asari councilor added.
"That brings up an interesting question. How do you know you aren't all indoctrinated? The reapers have had access to all your worlds and the citadel. Is it hard to think that these 'intelligent' machines would be able to find a use for it? Think about if they pretend to be allies and indoctrinate you all. Well it would be the perfect plan. Bit what do I know. I am merely a weaker and more inferior ai." Flare makes this snarky remark as he prepares to leave.
"Indoctrination isn't something that just happens. There are signs to it. And none of us have displayed these signs."The Turian Councilor said. "Plus indoctrinating us would make no sense. First of with what they knew during the time of their invasion, there was nothing we could do to stop them. If the ywere even aware of the Crucible, evidently they didn't consider it a credible threat. So simply making peace and indoctrinating the citadel leaders makes now strategic sense."The Turian Councilor said.
"Very well. I have no reason to doubt you since the reapers are form your universe. Where the flood are obviously my advancement. My strategic knowledge. It is all up to you though. I will not bother you again councilors." Flare does a form of bow and floats off.
"Was that all?"the Turian councilor asked. "Uh no. It's not."Alice said. "I think you guys should help the Reapers build their weapon. And on the off chance that the parasite does spread further the Reapers could use some help finishing that weapon. Though I wouldn't recodmend directly joining the reapers in ground engagements. Atleast, not with organics."Alice said before leaving.
Flare leaves a growing resentment for the council in him. "Incompetent." He says waiting for the others to come by. He goes up and scans a keeper. "Interesting." He says receiving the data from the strange green creature.
"Couldn't agree more."Riisart said. The keeper continued its work, seemingly unaware of Flare's presence, eventually moving onto another terminal and beginning to work over at it. "I wouldn't expect much of a response from them. They ignore just about everything going on around them. The citadel was attacked by Cerberus one time, and while we were being evacuated I could've sworn I saw a keeper continuing about its business, despite being shot at by Cerberus troops."Riisart said, watching the Keeper work. "Alright, let's get out of here."Alice said, walking passed the two.
"Well then what is our next objective. This place could prove beneficial if the reapers weapon fails on the flood. Would it be ok if I traverse this place and investigate myself?"
"Yeah it would be a good spot to hide until the flood actually got to it."Alice said. "I assume our next objective would simply be to wait until we get more orders on what to do."Riisart replied.
"Very well. That would work well. May I have permission to travel this place and examine it?" Flare asked.
"No. You're going back onto the ship."Alice said.
"Very well. I see you don't trust me. Even after I was only doing my job. I wouldn't hold you responsible if you were doing your job even if it meant death." Flare floated with them. "But with it all gone. I have a new purpose one which is not dictated by protical."
"Following protocol almost got my team and crew killed. Get back to the ship. Now."Alice ordered.
"But it could have prevented this infestation." Flare then enters the ship the anger and resentment within him building.
"And it owuld've killed my team."Alice said. "Protocol isn't everything."She added. "Make sure he stays on the ship."Alice told Riisart before walking off.
"Is she always this paranoid and spiteful?" He asks Riisart. "Or is it becouse of me?"
"Humans are much more grudge bearing than most. I wouldn't worry about it much. Once this issue with the fungal parasite is taken care of I doubt you will have to be around her too much."Riisart said.
