Oh boy! Laurens want some pogglemunts rps!

I have a few different characters I can pick up from, and as a result, each one has various plot things they could start or get involved in. I'll list 'em out, and you can let me know what you're in the mood for?

In Alphabetical order:
Draco - Unova-born son of a CEO in Castelia and a Dragon Tamer from Opelucid City, presently working as a member of the International Police. A dragon tamer in his own right, although his team is more varied in type to give him an edge. He works best in crime-thriller types of stories when pitted against villainous PCs.

Lauren - Oldale-born trainer who until recently lived in Canalave City, Sinnoh with her uncle. Has recently returned to her home region of Hoenn with the intention of taking on the typical Pokemon League gym challenge. Tagging along with her on these adventures is her zany, 'wild', talking Haunter. Good for light-hearted stories and epic adventure ones alike!

Murdoch - Unova-born son of a CEO in Castelia... hey, wait, that sounds familiar! Draco's notorious, older half-brother, a former Team Aqua member turned smuggler and poacher working for himself. Arguably more powerful as a Dragon Tamer than his brother. He functions best as an occasional criminal presence than an always-present player in a long term story, unless he's a villainous protagonist.

I have one more, a Biker named Johann, but those are the three characters above that I'd like to have a shot at giving more scenes to, somehow.

What I'm looking for in (a) partner(s):
-Commitment to the story! I'm willing to cut slack because of the holidays, but I want to try to keep the RP going as long as I can!
-A literate and good handle on the English language. Posts are not fun for me to read if have to decipher common spelling and grammatical mistakes all the time.
-Good sense of storytelling. Are your character's actions making sense to the story and the lore of Pokemon? Are your posts engaging?
-Post Length is whatever you're comfortable with. I won't push for multiple paragraphs, but if you want to crank them out, go for it. Just give me something I can respond to!


And... that's all I can think of at 7pm in the evening! Hit me up with something! Show me what you've got! Even if it's mudkips! I like mudkips. I'm open to any and all possible story discussions!

His profile is really "ugh so angst very wow" but I'm really determined to use this guy in an RP. He's good as a leader or a follower, and I generally play him on the path to bigger and more intricate plots.

The whole crime fighting detective style of Draco really would mesh well with Chaos' backstory, I think.

If playing alongside a Pokémon buddy isn't your thing, I have a trainer character that we can use, too.

Also, Draco, Lauren, and Murdoch all sound fantastic and I want to play with them all! Is there a way to weave a story between them?

Emil is your standard good guy with a tragic past that he has overcome, he loves making friends almost as much as he like to go on new adventures and spending time with his Pokemon.

Sammi is a bit more rambunctious than Emil and loves looking for trouble so she can live out her fantasy of being a superhero. She loves traveling around on her Pokemon, double battles and parties.

Clint is way older than he looks, he lived back when the Abyssal Ruins in Undella were still above sea level. He is on par with any E4 member (and some champions). While he doesn't often battle he prefers working odd jobs that are so lowly that no one pays too much attention to him.

@Oaky - Hey man! Long time no see! I'm not entirely sure how keen I am on having independent Pokemon tagalong, but I miiiight be willing to cut some slack there only because I in turn have Lauren & Taunter (who is quite literally a whole other character on his own, development wise). Out of curiosity though, who's your trainer OC?

@VG - Hey dudeski! If I had to pick between your own trio, it'd be a toss up between Sammi & Emil! I like Clint, but I don't think I've found that 'click' with him yet like I did with the other two! Maybe if you threw him at Murdoch, something would synch up and be fun to do? I had a hilarious time with Emil & Johann too in the group--maybe I could bring the biker back out for something, though I'd rather stick to one of the three I've listed! Maybe something new between Sammi & Murdoch too? I know that other scene didn't pan out, sorry again about that. I know you like plots! I like 'em too! I'm just bad at making them and getting them rollin'.



Answering Oaky's other question because it fits as a general rambly ramble:

Regardin' my trio of characters I want to use, the only mix-n-match I could plausibly pull off is Drac' & Murdoch, but I'm a lil' wary of doing that because I fear I could overtake the RP all by myself. Whoops! The pair of brothers on their own have their own dynamic that's so intense that it could pretty much be a story on its own (which is why when one chases after the other, it's usually far off screen), which is why I'd be keen on doing one or the other.

And the only thing that could happen between either of them and Lauren is a chance encounter. A very very chance encounter. She's kind of on her own here, poor lass!

Bruno is a stubborn headed teenager, that has the intention of being the best. Whether that be by showing his strength and bullying people or proving his mettle against worthy opponents.

His team consists of:
Crush- Crawdaunt
Goliath- Tyranitar
Rage Quit- Primeape
Blaze- Flareon
Static- Electivire
Freak- Dusclops

As well as a number of box pokemon are shown in my profile! (ps I can also change them out if you'd like.

I'm good using any of them. You seem to want to Rp with Sammi some more, Emil could always make some sort of cameo and Clint... He can wait, if you want. Lemme know when you're ready!!!

It has been ages since I got involved in a pokémon RP. If you're not flooded in RP requests yet and will have me I'd like to get Shannon back into action!

Wow this topic took off! Still waiting to hear from oaky too, but I haven't forgotten about you guys! Today has been super busy, so I'll try to get back to y'all myself tonight or tomorrow!

Holy moly, I had almost an identical day of not being around my computer or able to put thought into this topic! D< Okay, let's try to get something sensible going.

To Oaky, VG, Warwick, & Rynh: I want to rp with all of you. Is a group RP alright? Hopefully we'll hear back from Oaky soon on all of the above, but uuuuh let me get my brainmeats a revvin' on potential plotstuff (since I got a lot of "I want to rp with you!" but not a lot of "I want to RP ____ with you!" Which is fine, s'just means I can start story-plotting here!

So, what are we in the mood for? I laid out some possible plot things in my first post, so you're more than welcome to comment on that or toss something out yourselves. The EASIEST and most typical plot thing would obviously be some sort of cross-country adventure through a region, though a little variety in or from a typical story can't hurt either!

I think I'm interested too. I'll go make a new trainer in a bit. I've really been needing to learn how to play as multiple characters, both similar and different, since I'd like to eventually do so with voice acting.

Do you have any problem with fakemon? I have two, that I want to try using again. Spectreeon and Eclipseon.

While it said WIP, the profiles are fully written, I just need some actual rp time with them as I made some changes to them and maybe some constrictive criticism. I will admit that I had some problems with them in the past, but I was hoping that this would be a great chance to have some fun and test one or both of them out. I understand if you don't want me to join knowing this though.

I also have this really old plot idea that never really got used, if you guys want to hear about it, assuming I am allowed to join that is.

Sweet! I've no problem with a group RP. The more the merrier in my opinion! Also oops, I didn't include a choice, did I?

Well, I've a soft spot for Lauren, but picking her would be predictable of me. Draco seems like a lot of fun, actually. And he does give me an idea for getting the group of trainers without any ties together.

What if we do a plot where most of our trainers have lost all or some of their pokémon to someone or some gang, and Draco is signed on duty to try and help get them back, having to work together with some of the victims to try and get the culprit caught. I imagine a group of ragtag trainers ready to get all vigilante on villains and a member of the international police trying to keep it under control could get us some lovely scenes.

A more outlandish idea I had was that random trainers from all over the globe are hand picked to battle it out in a private arena, but there might be more going on behind the scenes. I'll be honest, this one I didn't quite figure out yet, but if the concept sounds interesting I'd love to work it out!

Okay, so I heard back from Oaky about his trainer OC, which reminds me to remind you guys: please if I ask something of you or you have an idea to share, please respond to this topic directly instead of PMing me. Otherwise I'm having to pull double the work by replying here, repeating everything you've already told me privately. I'd like for everyone to be on the same page and know that everyone else is keeping up with stuff.


So now that that's out of the way: Including myself, we've got 7 people. Whew, that's a lot, but enough to run something, I think! I rather do like the sound of your suggestion, Rynh, mostly because selfish me doesn't want a gigantic plot to run on the holidays--I am notoriously busy Thanksgiving to New Years with work, only letting me eek out 1 or 2 forum RP posts a day, on top of my moderation duties and Furcadia dream obligations. A simple, "Villain [Blank] took [Blanks'] Pokemon and now we've got to get 'em back" sounds easy enough to run with such a busy timeline ahead of me. Though if fate's a fickle banana, we may be running over ideas & characters well into New Years, and then my schedule won't be an issue in the end.

To Doc: As I told Oaky in his PM to me, reply here with a profile to that trainer, when you make them. I want to know what you've got in mind!

To Katia: I have some concerns over a pair of human-hating Pokemon in an rp where human trainers will be prevalent! I fear there won't be terribly much to do with them and things could get bottlenecked pretty quickly with the humans having to handle a pair of human-haters on top of the issue of some of them missing their Pokemon and needing to get those beloved Pokemon back! Is there any particular way you could see these two meshing together well in such a story?

Eclipseon can be civil as long as no one tries to catch her and Spectreeon may not be quite as civil as Eclipseon, but she isn't going to instantly attack any humans unless they are rockets. That being said, Eclipseon would probably be more suited for this rp. As for the missing pokemon, well Eclipseon won't be wasting her time trying to keep them from their trainers.

Mm, not sure if I'm entirely convinced about letting them on board! What is the point of having either of these characters in this manner of story then? What would be their role, their motivations in the plot, their purpose?

Well I could see Eclipseon adding some conflict (Not necessarily fighting conflict) and darker/edgier elements. As for a concrete role, they I could see a couple possible roles. One would be obviously antagonists, but maybe evolving to antiheroes or even heroes depending on the plot. This one would fit Spectreeon more.

The second is weird, but I can actually see it and that would be a guide. I mean I can see Eclipseon appearing out of nowhere when someone lets their head get too big and tearing them a new one. Basiclly constantly reminding them that their biggest responsibility is not to catch pokemon, beat lots of other trainers and earn badges, but to be proper trainers to their pokemon. As for why Eclipseon would do this, well, quite simply to help the trainer's pokemon.

3rd This one is simple, to be a challenge. Maybe they get caught and now a trainer has the challenge of trying to tame a powerful but extremely wild pokemon. Either pokemon could fit this one.

As for their motives, Spectreeon's for number one would be a misguided attempt to prother the trainer's missing pokemon. Then obviously when showed how wrong she is about the matter, that could lead to reflection and the anti hero to hero phase.

As for Eclipseon in number 2. Well I as I already said, she would do this to protect the other pokemon from what happened to her by trying to educate the trainers.

3rd. At first the motivation would be to escape, but maybe they slowly have their eyes opened that humans can be trusted and that not all trainers are bad. This would be easier for Eclipseon since she has had some good experiences with humans, but not impossible with Spectreeon.

Howdy! I decided to have a total brat in play for this game, with Rynh's prompt and all. Having a kid who's only ever gotten everything he wanted have his Pokémon stolen sounds fun.

If that won't work, I can make a few tweaks for a more mature 17 year old trainer.

Let me know what you think- He's still very much a fluid character right now.

Okay, today is the last day of house sitting, so I can finally sit down and devote more time to this topic before next week's rest of the month stint of work.

To Katia: I've pondered over your responses in the meanwhile, but unfortunately I think I need to decline your Pokemon. I can't really see them fitting very well into the proposed stolen Pokemon plot. I saw VG started his own Pokemon topic though from my home feed! Maybe you could go look at that one, if you haven't already?

Oh yes, I think Aaron's building up to be something good. I'm excited for it! The premise is a fun one, especially with this many different characters!

So where are we planning on doing this particular little roleplay? Will it be done on the public forums or somewhere else?

*crosses fingers* I was hoping public forums, because I personally can not upkeep yet another group! Maybe even Pm's could work, because those are pretty managable these days for rp.
