Evan's spikes grew out becoming more blade like. He swung his arms and fists at the conduits, slashing into them with little effort, eventually killing a few. He repeated the motions he was using with several other concrete conduits. He swung at one conduit, embedding his arm blade into it. He struggled trying to pull it out, eventually poppign the blade off, leaving it in the conduit. He noticed some spikes growing off of it, before it launched spikes at the others in the vicinity, shredding the conduit the blade was stuck in. "That was unexpected..."He muttered.

By now he'd regrown his blades, and swung his arms out, launching the spikes off, as well as the spike 'bomb' at the Cocnrete Conduits, letting the bomb blow and cut through them.

Sly may be helping the injured, but is killing his enemies when he has the power to incapacitate them really a heroic move? It would be different if he had no choice. It seemed he found killing his enemies... More fun

Sly wore a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up just below his elbow and a black suit vest. By the looks of it, the colour of his clothes seemed to invert a tiny bit. His ice darkened a little into a faint grey and blue.

When the last soldier was left, Sly froze his hands and his gun together, then smashed his bat into the enemie's knee smashing it and causing him to cripple. "awh" Sly said sticking out his bottom lip in a teasing pout as he knealed over "did I hurt you?" he pressed his icy bat into the enemy's "good, try shooting me again, bastard!" without hesitation Sly wrapped the enemy conduit's brain around his bat.

"oh man, can't you feel that power?" he asked the boys, hoping in place, his wound was almost completely sealed "I shouldn't be dead!" his excitement evident.

Evan blinked, looking at Sly cautiously. "So what do we do with the guys that weren't killed?"He asked Nick. "I don't think leaving them here would be a good place to leave them."Evan added.

"Worry not..." A voice said from behind them. Suddenly, what seemed to be piano wires grew out of the ground and wrapped themselves around all of the defeated conduits, taking extra care to encase their arms and hands. "We'll take it from here." The three turned around to see a man in a crisp white lab coat, hand raised and balled in a fist, with a faint glow to it, signifying that it was he who had ensnared the Conduits. The Soldiers then put away their weapons and began rounding up the Conduits, placing them in armored trucks meant for prison transportation.

"Good work out there boys, we're already scraping the barrel for medical supplies, and we don't really have many soldiers to spare, you saved us a lot of grief." The man commended. "I apologize for the way you were previously treated, but understand with the majority of Conduits being like those tied up fellows over there, you can't be too carful. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Dr. Calvin Arsenic, director and head researcher of the CCD, Conduit Counter-measures Department. And you boys are...?" Dr. Arsenic inquired as he stuck his hand out for a shake.

"Name's Evan."Evan responded. "So I assume we can get our friend medical attention now?"He asked, indicating Sly.

"Uh, I'm Nick, but yeah he's kind of bleeding out."

"Oh, of course." Dr. Arsenic replied. He called over a couple of medical workers, who brought over some supplies and a gurney. "Just sit down young man and they'll take care of the rest." He instructed.

Sly shrugged, it was a dull pain if anything. He hopped up into.the gurney and watched the doc inspect him "it was worse a while ago, after I leached power from that blue shard thingy, it's almost completely healed"

The doctors continued to examine the wound as he spoke. "He's right, there was definitely a fatal wound here but his healing factor seems to be doing all the work at this point." The doctor informed.

"Really, well, it seems like that Blast Core must've temporarily increased your healing factor enough to close the wound." Arsenic suggested as he walked over to the strange machine that once held the Blast Core, examining it. "Speaking of which, how do you feel right now, any fatigue, nausea, blurred vision of any kind?" he inquired.

"I feel powerful" he said with a smile "I feel like I can take on everyone and everything that gets thrown at me" jumping up off the gurney, stretched and popped his shoulder, neck and knuckles.

"I swear, if I get another one of those things, I'm gunna get addicted to em"

"Fascinating, no adverse effects at all." Arsenic said with intrigue, scribbling notes on a small notepad. "Could it be that... no it couldn't possibly... could it?" he mumbled to himself as he examined the machine further.

"You two, Nick and Evan was it?" he called to the other two Conduits. "Come here a moment, I want to show you something." The boys walked ever to him and the strange machine. "Now boys, that object that your friend absorbed is called a Blast Core, think of it as a sort of battery of Ray Field Radiation, the energy that gives Conduits, like you, their powers." he explained. "This device here, is called a Core Relay, it is meant to convert Blast Core energy into energy that we can use to power regular equipment. You see when an electric current is passed through it the Cores let go of some of the energy they have stored, so we place it in a shielded container, hook them up to a transformer, and boom, we turn it into energy we can actually use. However, before your battle, one of the Core containers was damaged, and so when your friend started using his powers, the Core reacted to him and he absorbed the energy, unlocking a new power. Usually absorbing a Blast Core would cause some adverse side effects for a short time, but it seems that absorbing it through a Core Relay nullifies those effects, of course, I'd have to see it for myself to be sure. That's where you two come in, I'd like you to absorb the last two Blast Cores we have in the Core Relay, I get some new data and you both get some new powers, sounds like a fair trade, what do you say?"

"Uh, sure I guess, I'm game if he is." Nick replied, somewhat hesitant.

"So, we just hit them with our powers?"Evan asked. "If that's how this works than I'm game."He added.

"Not exactly, it's actually much simpler." Arsenic replied. "Just stand there and flex your powers a little, once I open the shielding the Blast Cores will react and just absorb into you." he explained. "Alright, everyone stand back." he said as he pushed a couple of buttons on a keypad. Once he hit enter the Core Relay opened itself up, revealing two unspent Blast Cores. The two did as instructed and fiddled with their powers, causing the energy emanating from the cores to bend towards them. They stuck out their hands and once they came in contact with the energy it immediately flowed into them. The Cores themselves seemed to turn into dust and flow into the Conduits along with the energy, once it was fully absorbed there was a pulse of energy as the two floated in the air for a moment, the energy unlocking new powers for them.

Nick convulsed as the energy flowed through him. His vision blurred a bit but he began to see images in his head, images of him throwing spheres of compressed sound waves that when detonated seemed to cause enemies pain as they covered their ears in agony. Another image showed him punching and kicking enemies with strikes that seemed to be enhanced with amplified sound waves. Eventually, the energy settled, putting Nick back on his feet.

"Whoa, oh man, that... that was weird!" Nick said, still feeling the power flowing through him. He looked at his hands and arms that were still pulsating with sound waves. "Oh wow, if I wasn't awake before, I am now."

Sly looked at his buddies as they absorbed their new powers. A new doctor walked it "doctor, you won't believe this!" The other doctor handed Arsenic a clip board with results on it "the conduits, much like these 3 are the rare few that can absorb power from blast cores. Cole, the demon of empire state, he was in the centre of the blast radius from the ray sphere. His body was able to absorb the raw eneegy from the sphere. Since these 3 were caught in the radius of the blast, they some how managed to absorb it also. Not on the scale of Cole but almost the same" the doctor drew a diagram as he explained "only conduits with a superior conduits gene are able to absorb shard energy. Conduits who are given their powers through other conduits via technology or an awakening conduit(conduit that can awaken powers) are not able to absorb anything" he walked over to Sly "this gentlemen here along with those two are 3 of the few in this city that can do that"

(this is not made up boys, I just finished playing Second Son. I finished the game 100%, all side mission and audio logs. Turns out, Delsin's main ability is mimicry. Absorbing powers let's him absorb shard energy. When Augustine realised he could do that she ordered all relays back and tried absorbing the energy bit she couldn't at all. I just worked someone that into our rp)

Similar to Nick, Evan saw odd images in his head. In the first one he saw four long tendrils growing from his back, being used for locomtion, attacking, and grabbing stuff. In the second image he saw, he had what-looked like tree bark growing off of his arms, though its was extremely tough, being able to withstand bullets. "Okay that was weird."Evan grumbled rubbing his head.

"Let me see the data." Arsenic requested. He took the clip board, flipping through the pages healed on it. It was true, the reading that they had picked up from the three boys during their battle showed that their power output, despite having just been activated, was much greater than their more seasoned opponents. Not only that, but their readings matched the readings of other Conduits in their custody, the only ones so far to be able to absorb Blast Cores during testing, effectively disproving Dr. Sebastian Wolfe's original hypothesis of all Conduits being able to absorb Blast Cores.

"Astounding, and tragically ironic really, that only the strongest are able to gain more power." Arsenic mused, handing the clip board back to his subordinate. He then turned his attention back to the trio of Conduits. "So boys, how do you feel?"

"Man, Sly was right, this feels great!" Nick replied, with a new vigor in his voice. "I've never felt... so power, so strong, so capable." He then spotted a group of crows crowding around a few meters from him. Nick couldn't resist, he had to test out his new power. He summoned a Pitch Grenade and chucked it over the crows, they jumped a little at the sudden action and attempted to fly away, but the Pitch Grenade detonated before they could, letting out a high pitch sound that stunned them all. "Oh yeah, that's gonna come in handy." He stated with a large grin on his face. "Damn, this day just keeps getting stranger and stranger, Sarah is never going to believe..." Just then, Nick's whole demeanor changed. The grin disappeared from his face, and his whole body stiffened, as the memories from earlier that day finally came back to him. "Oh no, Sarah... my god, Sarah, where's Sarah?" he asked nobody in particularly, just gaining strange looks from the others. "My friend, Sarah, I was with her during the Blast, we were evacuating... where is she, what happened to her?" Nick continued, frantically looking around the camp, hoping she may have been rescued.

"Weird."Evan replied. He glanced at his arms, and began to grow spikes out of them. The spikes quickly darkened into a brown color and slowly merged, eventually forming a small wooden shield of some sort. "Weird."Evan said.
