Geneviève nodded at Nick's request and popped herself off the desk. She could see through the the small rooms that the pained and depressed faces, turned to more relaxed and cheerful ones ones. I guess they didn't forget how tl smile after all. Geneviève thought, walking back over to the group.
She was grearful that they were standing up for her, even though Sly was taking it too far like yesterday, but she couldn't help but laugh when she saw the general almost have a cow infront of the infirmary. "Pfft...hahahaha!" She busted out laughing, "you didn't have to give him a death threat he wasn't going to shoot me! Hehehe..." Geneviève was referring to Sly, "but you guys are really sweet for coming for me, you miss me that much, huh?" She cooed.
"Well, thank you" Geneviève said giving the boys each a hug and peck on the cheek. Nick was right when he said Geneviève was a mystery, but she finally getting used to them it seemed.

"I really hope you didn't just screw us over Sly."Nick said, as they headed down the corridor. "That meat head needed someone to tell him off yeah, but that meat head's also in charge of this operation."Evan said. "But still, thanks for pushing him back a bit."Evan added.
Back in the meeting room Jaqulynn had finally quit vomiting. She was resting her head on her arms with a tired expression. "You have any tips on how to deal with nausea?"Jaqulynn asked Arsenic.
Back in the meeting room Jaqulynn had finally quit vomiting. She was resting her head on her arms with a tired expression. "You have any tips on how to deal with nausea?"Jaqulynn asked Arsenic.
"I'm afraid I'm not that kind of doctor Jaqulynn." Arsenic replied with a hint of sarcasm. "Just hang tight for now, you can go to the infirmary as soon as we're finished here." Moments later the rest of the team returned, along with the general soon after. "Well, now that we're all finally here, let's get back to business." He stated, hanging a new, untouched photo of Cole MacGrath on the board. "I'm sure I don't have to reiterate how much of a threat Cole MacGrath is, but he is not the only thing we have to watch out for. After all every king has his court, every god has his archangels, and MacGrath... has his enforcers." He reached back into the folder and pulled out a picture of what seemed to be a woman of asian descent, with unnaturally pale skin, dark blue hair, and familiar blue eyes. "This, is Lucy Kuo, former NSA agent and one of Cole's most valued enforcers. Apparently she was the one that brought MacGrath to New Marais in the first place, word was they were originally fighting to stop the Beast, but somewhere down the line... they just switched sides." He explained. "As a Conduit, she has the power of Cryokinesis, Ice Manipulation, not unlike our friend Sly here, and on top of that, she leads the Vermaak 88, a group of Lesser Conduits whose powers originate from her, they're exceptionally strong, but for the most part they act like as MacGrath's personal body guards, especially when he's resting from a Ray Field Blast, so when we're finally ready to go after him, be ready to run into them."
Arsenic then pulled another photo out of the file and placed it on the board, this time of a middle aged woman with red hair. "This is Brooke Augustine, another one of Cole's enforcers. A former military officer that was deployed to battle the original Beast some time after the Empire Event, her powers were activated in one of the Blasts. Once MacGrath took over as the Beast she joined up with him, embracing her new identity as a Conduit. Being former military she has a plethora of strategic knowledge and thus acts as somewhat of a strategist for the Beast's Army, one of the major reasons we've had little success in taking them down. She's a Concrete Conduit, and a fairly powerful one at that, while you won't typically find her getting her hands dirty still knows her way around a fight, so be careful." He informed.
He took out one last picture, a young man in his late teens or early twenties with long unruly black hair, and the most interesting thing was that the picture was a mug shot. "And finally, we have Derek McCormick, there's honestly not much to say about him, he seemed like little bit more than a simple delinquent, got expelled from school, hung around other ruff characters, and dabbled into petty theft and carjacking, but of course his parents always bailed him out."
"Parenting at its finest." the general said sarcastically.
"After he got caught in one of the Blasts he just went ballistic, attacked neighboring towns and cities, "flexing his powers" as he put it, until he caught up with MacGrath and joined his army, rose through the ranks quickly. He's a very powerful Glass Conduit, he can create weapons, armor, even small forts out of the stuff, and while that power makes him useful to the Beast, he's real worth lies in his... diplomatic abilities. A good chunk of the Conduits in the Beast's Army started off innocent, confused and afraid, and it was Derek that convinced a lot of them to join up, he just... has a way with outsiders. Fortunately we don't have to worry about him."
"And why's that?" Nick inquired.
"Because we already captured him." Arsenic replied, much to the group's shock. "He got a little overzealous while attacking one of the refugee camps, he slipped up and we were able to subdue him... we couldn't have gotten a luckier break. We keep him in a special cell in the Holding Facility, made of 100% steel, the biggest limitation of his power is that if theres a thick enough layer of steel or other metal between him and glass, he's rendered completely useless. Throw in some extra secure cuffs and around the clock guards, and we're pretty certain that he won't be going anywhere any time soon. However, if these Hostiles really did come for him, my question is why now, why not earlier, after all he's been here for a few weeks already... what's changed?" He mused.

"Maybe Cole tried to recruit people on his own or had someone replace him? And that just didn't work out?"Evan offered.
Sly just listened, not saying a word, arms crossed and eyes fixed on the floor. He had trust issues, but he had his reasons. He trusted 2 people here, even Arsenic wasn't as trustable as Evan and Nick. Sly had his suspicions on Jaqulynn, maybe it was they way she approached the group or her eagerness to be a part of it when she first met them. His guts just said no.
Nick and Evan saved his life, Arsenic is head of HQ and Genevieve was a prisoner. He had no reason to be suspicious of them.
Sly looked up at the photos, the only one he wanted... Was the big dog himself, Sly's charge up and slay him or he'll die trying. Cole needed to pay...For killing him... For destroying the only thing he held dear.

Geneviève followed behind the group into the meeting room and took the closest seat she could find. Once the doctor began to speak. Geneviève stared at the doctor with a her usually her blank listening expression on her face. Geneviève had a thought during the meeting that might bring an answer to the doctors question. But she didn't know how to say it.
Maybe they didn't come for him, like the Doctor claims. Geneviève thought, it would make no sense to go after someone so late, if Cole really needed him. He would have came after Derek sooner, right? Geneviève tried to hypothesize something in ber head, but nothing she thought of added up correctly. Geneviève listened to Evan's proposal, "maybe Cole tried to recruit people on his own or had someone replace him? And that just didn't work out." Geneviève cocked a brow at this, "why would Cole try to recruit people on his own?" Geneviève aked confusingly.

"Well, he is making an army, and the more people he recruits, the less people to get in his way." Nick theorized, but she was right, it was strange that they would suddenly mount an assault now, and with such a small group, it just didn't fit.
"Hey Jaqulynn, what exactly did those Hostiles say about this Derek guy?" he inquired to the nauseous girl.
"Hey Jaqulynn, what exactly did those Hostiles say about this Derek guy?" he inquired to the nauseous girl.
Jaqulynn shrugged. "I dunno. I just heard them say his name. I think I got there after they finished what they were saying or just beginning it, but stopped because they noticed me."Jaqulynn said.
"Hmm... then I guess the only way to know for sure is to interrogate them, even if this doesn't have anything to do with McCormick, we should still get them to tell us why they were here." Arsenic concluded.
"Alright, now you're talking, you just leave that to me and my boys, we'll have them talking in no time." the General replied, a little more enthusiastically than what was necessary.
"No disrespect General Patterson, but if you do the interrogating I doubt they'll even have the ability to speak afterwords." Arsenic replied.
"Hey, I may not trust the suckers, but I'm not gonna torture them." the general defended, darting his eyes between the doctor and the other Conduits.
"Nevertheless, I think I should do the talking, you just have "your boys" stand guard, if you please." Arsenic stated, much to the general's disappointment. "Now that that's settled, there is one other matter I wish to get out of the way." He continued, leaning down behind the podium and taking out a heavy duty briefcase. He unlocked it with his wires and opened it to reveal the same kind of weapons Sly had stumbled upon before. "Sly, I believe this will satisfy our deal from before." he said as he removed the high tech handles from the case. "The ones you were using before were just prototypes, these are finished product." Arsenic explained before flipping a switch on one of the handles, causing a long, wire thing rod to extend from it. "They've been equipped with a stabilizing rod that resonates and augments Conduit abilities, now it will be easier for you to sustain your conjured weapon and they will be harder to break." he retracted the rod and handed the weapons to Sly. "Here, try them out later."

Whatever the doctors plan is to make those hostile conduits talk, Geneviève doubted that Dr. Arensic was going to make them talk with words. She was slightly glad that the doctor wasn't going to do it though. They couldn't aford the hostile conduits to be unable to galk because the general made them piss themselves.
After coming to an decision the doctor pulled out a suitcase from under the podium. "What's that?" She asked in confusion right up umtil the the doctor said something about ending a deal with Sly. "Ahh.." she said lightly nodding her head. Geneviève guessed everyone else was going to stick with their powers since the doctor didn't pull out any other weapons.I wonder when my boys will get here...she was supposed to send them to once I got her, but... Geneviève thoughts were e soon interupted when they're was a sudden knock on the door.
At the door was a skinny man dressed in a messager uniform. "Excuse me, but I have a few deliveries for...uh.." the messager flipped through the pages, "w-what?! Who let you in here?!" The general asked, obviously confuse by this. The mailman quickly explained himself, "the outside guards let me in! I didn't mean to intrude, bjt I-I have a few packages for Geneviève Greco, from her sisters!" Geneviève immediately shot up from her sit, "My BABAIES, they're finally here! Gimme gimme gimme!" Geneviève ran out the room taking the mailamn with her.
"EEEEEEK!" A loud, overly excited squeal could be heard outside the room. "You’re sisters also brought you this." The mailman said outside the hall. Two men started rolling a lsrge cart down the hall, "THE H-E DOUBLE TOOTHPICKS IS THAt!?" The mailman could be heard stuttering from Geneviève's reaction, "I-It's a Extra Long-Range Bombardment Firearm System for Localized Defensive "Harkonnen II"... or that's what the message says."
"I'M NOT STUPID I JIST LOOK LIKE THIS, I KNOW WHAT IT IS!"

Sly placed his bat on the table, he grabbed one hilts and formed an ice blade more blade means I can shoot while I dice " he grabbed the hilt with two hands and made the blade longer, holding it out in front of him.
He looked at the doctor and nodded, he held up his end "can you make me a holster for that bat though, It has meaning" he said handing him the bat.

"I suppose, I'll see what I can do." Arsenic replied, taking the bat and putting it to the side. It was then that the messenger arrived. "Ah, yes, I was told you would be arriving today, Genevieve you may..." Arsenic didn't even get to finish before the girl sprinted out of the room with he messenger.
"Just what the hell's going on here Doctor!?" the General demanded.
"I assure you General Patterson, everything is fine, they are 100% authorized to be here, so calm down and..." Arsenic was interrupted by Genevieve's sudden shriek and subsequent outburst.
"Authorized? I'm the authority around here and nobody gets in here without my consent." the General stated before leaving the room. Arsenic let out a sigh.
"Well, excuse me for a moment." Arsenic said as he followed him out.

"Could someone remind me why we keep him around here again?"Evan asked with false confusion. "I mean, just a mail man, no big deal."Evan added.
"This Conduit-Human alliance goes both ways man." Nick replied. "Normals tolerate us, we tolerate Normals, and right now that general there is closest thing we have to a Normal Ally, as sad as that is. The guy may be a dick sometimes, but at least he's willing work with us, that's the best we can do for now."
"Well... I hope we find a normal whose willing to work with us, just less of an ass."Evan said. "So, what do we do now that the Doc's gone?"He asked, changing the subject.
Sly's rage was slowly bubbling inside as the General shouted. He was going to put him in his place. As the general began to walk away Sly uncrossed his arms and started to make his way to him. Nick grabbed Sly's arm quickly, Sly was too angry and he need to let it out. He watched the general turn as the door shut behind him, he smirked at Sly, Nick kept him cool.
Sly iced his anger a little, he let out a held in breath. The red in his eyes subsided "one of these days i swear, i'm going to cut off his tongue..." Sly crossed his arms again.
