Pig did not say anything when Icias picked him up, he was used to it. "The Demon is quite powerful, but I don't really know how powerful they are. I truly don't know much about them at all, but you can try and ask." Pig said to Xeres. Though Pig may not have shown it, there was one problem pig had that he refused mention about the wish. If the humans be ame humans again would they forget their experienced as animals and what animals are really like and go back to not treating animals equally? Pig really did not want this to happen and had had faith it wouldn't happen. "Now that they know animals have opinions and an idea of what is going on around them, I'm sure we will continue to be equals." Pig thought to himself.
"Your a dumb animal mister reptile," Icias scoffed, walking ahead of the mercanary, pig in hand. "He isn't a giving soul, no Demon is, if they even have souls. We get one wish and I'm not putting it on the line for someone who was nothing more then a sell sword." He wasn't risking it all for some reptile who wants to live in two kingdoms. "Like I said, if that's really what you want seek out the Demon and make a deal with him yourself."
"And if the demon wouldn't allow you to wish that all animals who were once human can shift between the two forms, what makes you think it would allow you to wish that all former humans were returned to being human?"Xeres asked.
"It seems greedy, like you," Icias was done humorist the lizards idea. "I'm returning my wish to what it was, just for the curse to break, no ifs ands or buts about it." Icias quickened his steps, "leave us now reptile." The bear came to a cross roads and took a slight right, "we are on a quest!"
When Icias and Xeres started what seemed like arguing to pig, he was awkwardly silent. He couldn't think of anything he could say without accidentally joining the argument at the moment. He cared more about traveling as fast as possible, and he felt that if he just kept quiet they would continue moving. While it was greedy of him to care more about speed then keeping Xeres and getting to know him better, pig was just too focused on the quest. Even a small ignorant pig can do wrong things...
XEres rolled his eyes, letting out a hiss before leaving.
Whether Xeres meant to or not he did not leave the thicker part of the wood to find his way back to Alchamy Town. He found himself walking deeper and deeper into the darkness. Turned around and befuddled he must have lost the trail some time before sunset and midnight because the moon was nearing the peak of its asention when the voices started to echo. Bouncing off the bark of trees and push themselves into Xeres thoughts.
"Hello, little dragon," the dark voice said. The demon was not happy, the last thing he wanted was the Pig to lift the entire curse. He was enjoying his sacrifices and his deals with half witted animals. If the curse was broken he'd either have to waste his time conjuring up a new curse that was THAT big, which could take years. Or come up with a new one.
He had originally thought that the Pig would wish for happiness or something stupid like a sandwitch, but this business with the bear had screwed everything up. "I heard you speaking earlier Xeres, I heard your wish. To switch back and forth between human and reptile." The Demon laughed malevolently, "may I introduce myself, I am the Demon!"

Xeres glanced around, trying to locate the voice. "I don't believe in demons."Xeres replied. "Most of my argument was in the possibility of a demon's existance."Xeres responded.
The smokey dark spirit flittered down threw the leaves, "doubt my existence if you will. But it was no science that turned you like that Xeres." The Demon smiled to Xeres the same way an old friend smiles at the other after being away for a while. "I am a big fan of your work, you've given me so many lost souls to play with."
The demon began to clap almost congratulating the lizard for his stellar work. "My deal is a simple one, rejoin the group and make sure that those two never find anyone to offer me." The Demon withheld his reasons but continued none the less, "if they do find a perspective target... Kill it!" The Demon vanished and speared once again behind Xeres, massaging his shoulders with his smokey bone like fingers. "Do we have an accord?"

"Again, I do not believe in demons. I am more than certain you are little more than a stress based hallucination. Besides, I have no quarrel with the bear and the pig. Let them go on their pointless quest."Xeres said. "Even if I did aid you what would I benefit from?"Xeres asked.
"The ability to go back and forth between human and reptile," the demon vanished again into the night. "Do what you wish," the voice echoed. "Think of me as nothing more then a shadow in the woods... But if you change your mind, I'll be watching." The Demon was now gone and the trees echoed only the creatures of the wood, and only the singing of the wind.
The sun rise in the sky, one day had escaped into the void. Icias woke the pig softly, "two days left pig." The bear stood up, "are you ready to continue towards the mountains?" The two still had to cut through one small town but then they would be in the shadow of the Black Rock Mountains. "Get up Pig, the morning grows old every minute we waste."
Soon Xeres found himself heading back. If this demon was what he thought it was, an intelligent being with very advanced technology, than he thought being able to switch between his human and animal form would be useful. It wasn't long before Xeres found Icias and Pig. Komodo dragons were amazing trackers after all.
Pig got up when Icias woke him up. "Yes I am ready." he replied. The idea of having to cross through just one more town before arriving at the destination excited pig. He was so close to completing his quest now and being safe from turing into dust. "What could possibly get in the way now?" pig thought to himself confidently. What pig didn't know was the demon had made a deal with Xeres, which might just get in the way and even end his journey before he can complete it...
"What are you doing back here swamp breathe?" Icias asked trying to be as rude as possible. He had tried to invite the creature along before and been denied, and with this creature being a mercenary things could get ugly. "Leave at once, I don't think we want any trouble." Icias began to walk away, pig close at his heels. "Let's go pig, this guy is nothing but trouble." They didn't know anything about this guy not even his name? What if he was actually not a mercanary at all but a serial killer!!!
"I have no desire to harm either of you. I don't hold grudges, nor do I believe in sense-less killing. If what you believe will happen is true, than I see no reason to oppose it. After some thought I decided being human has more advantages than a komodo dragon."Xeres said.
Pig felt Xeres's reason to rejoin made sense. There were plenty animals who felt being human is better then being an animal, pig really wanted to trust Xeres one hundred percent but after his deal with with the demon he wasn't sure if he should trust Xeres or not. Yet he still said, "Your welcome to join us Xeres. I have nothing against you." Xeres may not have been the nicest lizard in the universe but he still never really did anything bad. As for whether Icias would be okay with Xeres joining pig didn't know what he would say he couldn't read minds. Though pig did think Icias might be a little against Xeres rejoining juding from how he talks to Xeres.
"I'm glad you returned, the more the merrier." pig added attempting to lighten the mood in hope that Icias might calm down and not kick Xeres out again. Pig was curious about Xeres and why he acts the way he acts, he wanted to get to know Xeres better.

This wasn't his quest alone, Icias knew that. This was not just to get humanity back in the Loqwood, it was also pig's quest. If they didn't sucseed it would be pig's head that would roll. The bear knew he made a deal with the pig but he was scared. If they failed would he really be willing to be sacrificed to a demon for the safety of a pig that he just met? "Fine, come along if you must Reptile..." If Icias did want to chicken out he could use this lizard as a sacrifice instead of himself and he wouldn't be so overwhelmed with guilt. "If the pig wants you, so be it." Icias said, "it is more his fellowship then mine."
XEres nodded, following after them. "Have you already gathered supplies?"He asked.
"Yes, we got them when we went through the large town a while ago." replied pig. "Do you want some supplies?" He assumed the reason Xeres asked was becuase he wanted to borrow some supplies. Pig grabbed a few supplies: bread, a blanket, and some water and showed it to Xeres then waited to see if he would accept or decline. Since pig wasn't rich; they didn't get a whole lot of a supplies or any really high quality supplies, but pig didn't think that should matter it was just a journey not a classy, expensive party.
