Sam was too tired to get up. ''I'm not even going to try.''

"I know what else escalated quickly..."

Niena raised a thinly arched eyebrow.

"An escalator."

"Wow. That was a really lame joke." She laughed. "Maybe he actually is the father. He's got the jokes down."

Sam sighed and her eyes turned back to their normal color. ''I was hoping you wouldnt do the other joke..''

"See, Sammy?"

Matrox walked up to the ancient library. "Yes, this is the place," he said to himself. He raised his hand and the building imploded in on itseld. "One down, three to go." Matrox slowly walked away from the library.

Sam's eyes turned red. ''Dont call me Sammy. I am Sam.''

"Whatever, but you'll still be my little Sammy," he said, taunting her.

"Being the peacekeeper for this family is a never ending task," Niena sighed, stepping between Sam and Vehr.

''...'' Sam didnt reply. Her mom used to call her Sammy.. but she was gone now. Her eyes fastly turned to red to blue. Her face fell into her pillow and she sighed.

"Stand back, honey," he said pulling her back, "I don't know what it'll do next"

"Stop picking on her, Vehr. She's sad." Niena frowned, looking at Sam.

Sam wasnt replying. She just heared over and over her mom saying ''Sammy'' in her head.

"Why? I was just joking?" he walked over to Sam's bed. "You okay, there?"

Niena bit her lip and sat on the edge of Sam's bed. "Hey, Sam?" she said in a soothing voice. "You alright?"

''Y-yeah.. better then any day..'' she muttered.

"C'mon, tell me."

"You can tell daddy"
